Jeralyn at Talk Left : It's fairly common knowledge that blogs run on bandwith and bandwith gets expensive. In recent months, video bloggers have emerged on the scene, posting segments of news shows, interviews and other events so that bloggers and others can watch online when we want, rather than having to watch on tv at the appointed hour.... Crooks and Liars also takes donations, and even though they didn't ask today, I hope you send some help their way as well.
The right wing video bloggers were asking for help today and "Inside the Blogs" highlighted it today. I did a drive in Feb. and AmericaBlog was kind enough to post about it and I got enough donations to help pay for the bandwidth for at least another month. I don't like to ask for cash.
I was approached by a company just recently who would host the video clips for free, but it would require all viewers to login and download some software so that an ad would get attached to the video clip and then I would get a cut of that as well. I refused.
So next month I'll be asking for some help.
