Fran Townsend (WH Homeland security adviser) said today on FOX News Sunday that the White House hasn't received a letter from the Dubai company to engage in a new review of the Port aggreement while on Meet the Press, John Warner (Rep) said he already holds a letter authorising that review.

Townsend: We haven't received a request yet from that company-there are ongoing discussions-we'll have to see what that letter or that request will include.

Warner on MTP: "Last night I was contacted by the chief operating officer of this company---this is a copy of the agreement which is now being delivered to the administration and members of congress..."

I guess Warner has a little more juice than the White House or Fran knew and said nothing.

As Atrios noted earlier:

"What could possibly justify Meet the Press's decision to have 3 Republicans on and no opposition?"
