The dog days of summer are underway. It seems like every National League team is in the race at this point for at least the wild card spot. As a commentor points out. "They are pretty bad." Who would have thought that the Dodgers would be in first place.

Minnesota is playing great ball while Justin Morneau is completely overlooked as an MVP candidate. Mauer is hitting over .360 as a catcher, but Morneau is driving in runs like crazy. David Ortiz (Big Papi) is just plain remarkable for the Red Sox and is the definite front runner. I interviewed Joel Sherman, who was the Yankee beat writer for years if you have an interest in checking it out.
