Greg Sargent sends some questions for Carroll to answer because his report was so ridiculous. Will he respond to any of them? Read over Sargent's list and ask Carroll at john_carroll@wgbh.org if he's man enough to respond. Here's one I like:

2) It appears from your report that you didn't attempt to contact Armstrong or the other bloggers who purportedly didn't exist. Given that you were critical of the journalistic standards of others in your piece, isn't it a glaring oversight -- and doesn't it border on journalistic incompetence -- that you failed to take the elementary step of contacting the people named?

What's more, a few minutes of checking on line would have rapidly revealed that those bloggers do indeed exist. Isn't it a similarly glaring oversight -- and again, a clear example of journalistic incompetence -- that you failed to take such an elementary step?
