I was so excited the other day when I saw that Donovan was scheduled to play a club near my house. I haven't seen him since I was a teenager and I was feeling in the mood to relive some of the music I loved from back then. But when I went to buy tickets online I saw he had cancelled his tour, saying his album won't be out. Oh well...

Next best thing: YouTube.

I know these days listening to a Donovan song isn't going to drive anyone to use a bunch of illegal drugs. But it sure did back in the day. Here's one of my old faves, "Catch the Wind," live in 1964.

Tonight's prize is really awesome too-- because it was only made for djs, not for the general public (i.e.- you can't buy it). It's brand new, sealed CD, Try For The Sun: The Journey of Donovan Sampler, his 20 greatest songs, including 5 previously unreleased live versions. How do you win one of these? Send us an e-mail at downwithtyranny@aol.com and tell us what he might mean by "catch the wind."
