Rudy was criticized by a Catholic Bishop named Thomas J. Tobin of the Diocese of Providence in Rhode Island over his stance on abortion. Blitzer asked him to respond during CNN's debate and as he started speaking---lightening from a storm in NH interfered with the sound system which caused a sharp---crackling noise that had some of the other GOP candidates running for cover.
