Since this is an open thread, I'd like to say I'm outraged that Mike Gravel is not invited to the gay/lesbian debate. What a joke. I can't see why someone so openly homofriendly would be shunned there of all places. The silencing of candidates without special interests' support is what got our country into the mess its in now. 1% of the population provides over 80% of campaign funds. Guys like Gravel and Paul don't fit that mold, and you can see what the system does for (to) them.

He actually believes that history will remember him fondly. Lastly if all of the dems (who I will guarantee are smarter then you and have the power) did not go after Armitage, all that means is they did not have the evidence yet. Thats not all. Doug was charged with perjury to the Federal Elections Commission because he said he was responsible for mailers/fliers. Turns out someone else paid for them. They provided the authorities the checks showing payments. That person died and that is why charges were dropped. As they can't testify now and Doug is claiming it was for old services.
But there are still other things he could be charged with. One of the local tv stations has a lot of his papers (unpaid storage will bite you in the butt every time). There still has been no explanation as to why the county Expressway authority paid him. Although everyone knows it was to not protest rate increases.
I don't think the Magic thing was ever going to be prosecuted although it should be a crime. He is the founder of "Ax the Tax" which was supposed to be an anti-tax group but he was accepting payments not to oppose tax increases for whoever was willing to pay him. The Magic was willing to pay.

Thanks 99. Sharing info like this is the threat the neocons feel and why they want to take out the Internet. Stay focused folks, don't respond to the disrupters and they have no power. They want to appeal to our egos that want to "prove" this or that...screw em, don't reply to their hate. Trust you are on the right track if it is about freedom, autonomy, non-violence, and union, not division.

I just book marked his site so I can check him out regularly. Thanks. I don't feel that the tube post fits him though. He is on the same page that I am when it comes to shutting down the war budget. The post kinda gives me the impression that dems are on the wrong page when it comes to vote totals instead of it only takes 41 votes to kill a funding bill regardless if some dems want to keep the funding going for what ever kind of reason which is the point I think he is trying to make.

Well, right, but they often come in spreading disinformation and sometimes you have to be countering that before you're sure they're doing it on purpose. You don't want to be banning people or telling others to disregard the troll just because you don't like what he has to say. And, after something of a break from them since last November, they're getting really obnoxious on certain sore points now already. SiCKO. LIVE EARTH. GORE. KENNEDY. They're still screaming their heads off on threads from ten days ago, and when you have a lot of people reading the stuff, you have to keep an eye on that action or at least a third of the good the original post might have done is flushed down the toilet by the doubt they're trying to create.

no offense was meant by my grunt- it was simply an immature expression of frustration at not having my question answered or even acknowledged.
i am anxious for an answer. i called my senators and asked them to support 2022, and now i'm wondering if that was a mistake. i haven't heard anything about dodd's bill, not even from the aclu.
i read this passage in 2022, and i, not being legal-jargon savvy, sought the opinion of those who know how to interpret it. i've asked it and asked it and asked it...
