WORK THE REFS!
From the sidelines we need to work the refs, meaning the corporate media. Example-I hear on CNN radio at 3 Pm PDT, after first getting the most important news (quarterback Michael Vick indicted for his dog fighting business, steroids found in the body of teh dead wrestler who killed his family) that the all nighter is going on, and the first tape after the announcer is of Sen. Susan Collins denouncing it as a political stunt. No democrat was quoted. On the News Hour, they first played Mitch McConnell and then they played John Kerry.
I realize that the corporate media is run from the right, but we can still pound on them.
Here is the contact information to bomb CNN and the News Hour-remember to be polite but point out that they need to call out the obstructionism for what it is and that the democratic action is not a political stunt but an effort to hold the republicans accountable, and that fairness and balance in this situation would be very helpful to the debate.

We have been told we defeated our enemies, Al Qaeda, but when it came necessary to keep the troops in Iraq, Al Qaeda resurged to be the principal fighting force in Iraq. This is the biggest lie of the war.
If the administration's claim we fight Al Qaeda in Iraq is not true, what is the truth? The truth is Bush, the generals, and the principals writing these progress reports speak in one voice. The intelligent assessment can be made to support what the generals and Bush say. The president, who is known for created shit, only needs to wave his hand and it is done. Bush will not let a report his administration creates counter his propaganda.
This president is approaching genocidal policies when he has to create a picture he's killing our enemies. When a lie cannot be supported, you have to make it seem like there is proof to your claims. From above, using smart ass bombs that are not so smart, will drop ordinances on innocent Iraqi who get to represent Bush's new boogie man: Sunni Al Qaeda in Iraq. There are plenty of Sunni insurgents groups to lay claim is Al Qaeda. Somebody will bare an ugly price for Bush's made up propaganda, but if we keep this crime before the American people, a possible genocide could be avoided. You just cannot kill people for propaganda; it is not a worldly thing to do.

Yes it will show highlight how hundreds of Republicans still hold on to their right to kill innocent Iraqis in a made up war. I just Wikied "quorum call." If I get it right, it was used just now as a slight delaying tactic, but one that forces available senators to show up and vote, yes or no, doesn't matter, just to prove 51 senators are present.
If they don't have a quorum, nothing can be done except adjourn, recess, or round up the delinquents, by force if necessary. I suppose that theoretically, if the Repubs wanted to go home and sleep (or something) they could all hide in their office closets (!) and let the quorum call fail. That would stop things until they reappeared, but it would be a PR disaster.
