Okay, maybe I'm mishearing things, but it sounded to me that Falafel Man just said that consumers should remind corporations not to reward bad behavior. You know, like hate speech or advocating violence against an innocent group of people?
So, does anyone have a list of FOXNews/O'Reilly's advertisers?
Kos is giving a pony to the person who finds the "violent overthrow" diary on the homepage. C'mon, Markos, you know Billo doesn't let something as petty as a truth or reality to get in the way of getting his secular-progressive hate on...

I'm sure there have been calls for Civil Disobedience, like most countries experience in times of exceptional distress, like today in the USA. I know I've tried to organise a General Strike in the USA, but I was ALWAYS met with "pooh,pooh, on you, the Democrats will see us through..." by everyone I communicated with. The Business of Politics is Money and Power and it doesn't matter who you vote for (Dem or Repub)...the People will not get satisfaction...there should be an abolition of a two party system...no one political party should have more than 20% membership in Congress/Senate...that would (hopefully) allow for a more diverse political landscape.

At what point can a blog, news organization, or individual sue a "news" reporter, his show, or parent company. Often Bill O'Reily, Ann Coulture, or other right wingers will say the most blatently false things; why doesn't anyone press legal slander or libel cases against them? Or do they?
If I call BillO and ask him to point me to the quote, will I still get the pony? This is serious. I've never had a pony and like Lisa Simpson, I've always wanted one.

Chances are the vast majority of those who watch him either don't have computers, or are lost as soon as they turn on the power. Navigating the Web is very hard for many in the bracket who watch BillO religiously, so they take his claims about Web content as being Gospel. Sad, really.

If it is Kos that has Billo's ire than at least he might cite Kos's words. Kos, a USA Military Veteran, has never advocated violence. NEVER. BillO, a man that did not serve in Vietnam and lacks the courage to tell us why, has always taken a vicious tone in his debates and...I think at one time advocated the destruction of a landmark building in San Fransisco: by terrorists!
Corporations have their very existence at the pleasure of the people. They are not our masters....we are their's.
Once upon a time (a long time ago, I think 2001) BillO actually came off as thoughtful and intelligent but as the years passed, he became psychotic and loopy. When I compare the BillO of 2001 with the BillO of 2007 it makes me wonder if this is even the same guy.

The GOP blocks nearly everything in the Senate for the last 6 months, and then the major corporate media goes on and on about a "do nothing" congress.

Why does his “Talking Points” segment always split the screen so that almost every word he reads off the teleprompter is also on the screen? Don’t they know that Bill’s audience is either illiterate or so far from the nursing home’s TV screen that they can’t make out the letters with their feeble eyesight.

Rather than going after the Faux News sponsors, why not generate a list of BoRe's sponsors and concentrate on them? The impact will be higher (and more to the point).

Nice attempt to spin it though. FauxNews has a higher number of average daily viewers, because their viewers tune in longer to her opinion, spin, etc. Whereas, CNN viewers tune in for a few minutes to listen to the soundbites and catch up on news. CNN actually has a higher number of TOTAL viewers each day; FakeNews only as the higher AVERAGE number of viewers which is measured every minute or so.
Is it just me or has anyone else also noted the vicarious sexual pleasure Bill O' draws on his show. Pay attention to his choice of guests, experts, his questions and the issues he chooses to cover. And I say this with no bias against his idiotic views - this guy is a sexual pervert.

I don't know if you've heard, but Bill O'Reilly recently cast a smarmy challenge out to his xenophobic faithful, to harass any and all sponsors of any network to the left of Fox News. (!) Condescendingly reminding them that the networks are beholden to the sponsors for their programming dollars.
This reads as a shot across the bow to anyone who holds unbiased, even the PRETENSE of unbiased, journalism as a sanctified and integril part of the Fourth Estate of the United States, and enshrined by the Constitution's 1st Amendment in the Bill of Rights.
O'Reilly seeks to intimidate other networks by going after their sponsors. So in response, the progressive blogosphere thought to acquire a list of Fox News' (and by extension, Bill O'Reilly's) sponsors, to make the point that democracy DOES in fact work both ways.
So imagine my suprise to find my own self-proclaimed-as-progressive internet mail service provider on the list: Earthlink!
I don't expect Mercedes-Benz or Morgan Stanley to make any claims to being a progressive-leaning company, nor do they disappoint, and for such reasons I am a customer of neither.
You however, DO make great efforts toward being branded as a progressive organization to the public. As a result, you have gotten my and many other people's business.
What are you now? What does your brand mean anymore? You claim to be progressive, yet you sponsor Fox News??? That's sickening! That's deeply insulting to any female, African-American, gay, Latino or Democratic employees you may have, to say nothing of your regard for the integrity of journalism. To sponsor Fox News is an embrace of zealotry, and a glaring hypocrisy.
If you made NO SUCH overtures as a progressive organization, you would be regarded as no different than any other ISP out there for conscientious people to choose from, and we would choose a company ACCORDING to our progressive stance. Your actions, however, make you a deceitful hypocrite.
What'll it be, earthlink? Got an explanation for this? The progressive blogosphere would like very much to know, and I intend to tell them.

Until Corporate Social Responsibility is an inseparable practice by all corporations...they deserve neither 'personal rights as an entity', legal protections from malfeasance by design (profit before consumer safety), or your blindly loyal admiration for 'making the american dream a reality' (on the backs of how many, on the deaths of how many, for what cost to you & future generations?)...
When you have only one choice (a monopoly...goal of 99% of corporations) how can you 'boycott it', how can you seek other suppliers (you can't), how can you fight it legally (you can't)...just sit there, shut up and take whatever you're given by the goodness of the bottom line...see...its a endgame...and if you've bought into it, you're already lost...
