Duncan Hunter Knows His Priorities, Just Not His Facts

Republican presidential contender Duncan Hunter was asked by on yesterday's Hardball if he had any opinion on Alberto Gonzales's alleged perjury before Congress. Hunter demurred from answering for Gonzo, but used the airtime to slam the Democrats for ignoring what he thinks should be the priority for Congress: the "loopholes" in the FISA law.
The only problem? Those loopholes aren't really loopholes. They're protections to American citizens, not like silly things like civil liberties matter to Republicans like Duncan Hunter. The ACLU has compiled a list of myths and facts on the FISA laws.

Speaking of impeachment I just receive a letter back from my Sentator asking her to support impeachment.

Duncan Hunter is an idiot and I would be willing to bet he is a crook and on the take like his good buddy Duke Cunningham.
Same goes for Issa and Bilbray.
San Diego county is full of crooked politicians making big bank off of military contractors and not serving the interests of the military families who live there.
Why does nobody seem to find it odd that these "public servants" live in multi-million dollar mansions that they should never be able to afford....? Do they really have to be so blatant as to name their yachts "The Dukester" before anyone will even investigate????

I saw how people were protesting outside McConnell's house and I intend to do the same outside Duncan's House in Alpine. I intend to come up once a weekend for the day and sith with signs outside his house or driveway (depending)
Anyway, I used his online contact form to tell him that today. Here is what I sent:
Mr. Coward (Hunter),
For your willful disregard of your constitutional duties and slanderous remarks I am now going to protest every weekend outside your Alpine home. The comments you made indicating the democrats were responsible for Gonzalez were absolutely reprehensible. You didn't even have the courage to defend the man yourself yet you smear democrats. The Justice Department is in crisis and you simply want to put politics over country.
I intend to start protesting every weekend outside your alpine house. I am going to have signs indicating how you wrote the legislation that helped you steal that house from California taxpayers. Signs indicating you refuse to listen to the will of the American People and the Iraqi people. (Approximately 70% of the people in both countries want us out and you refuse to listen). You work for us Goddammit and you are going to learn that.
I am also going to make a plea to the news camera to remember every American soldier's blood is only being spilled so you can play politics. Every objective measure says we need to leave now. The only reason you want to stay is to put your party of the good of the American people.

i know how some of the people of connecticut felt when elmer fudd was elected. i live in san diego and duncan hunter has been a republican demigod for the longest. i'm truly ashamed to say i live in the area that elected him. but then again, san diego is truly a right wing military republican stronghold. wasn't it duncan who voted for or was mixed up in the scandal involving billions of dollars spent on a plane that didn't work and the military really did not want. yet because of his corporatist ties he continues to this day to support the project. what a tool. oh yes, and the military here in san diego continues to support him. now his son is running for his seat, i believe, while he dabbles at the national presidential level. wonder if the acorn fell far from the tree. doubt it.

Duncan Hunter officially ended his campaign for president today with these comments. His obvious attempt at obfuscation coupled with his dimwitted commentary about "loopholes" in FISA when the problem clearly is not any loophole in the law - it's this administration not following the letter of the law, that's the ONLY problem with FISA.
Hunter just shot himself in the foot on this one. This interview will become his "dean's scream" moment. He's finished...next!!

Living in San Diego, I hear and read a lot about Duncan Hunter. Folks, there isn't a bigger tool out there. This guy is the epitome of party before country. He's a right-wing honk til the end. Now, his son is running for his congressional seat. I can't imagine the apple fell far enough from the tree to think he's gonna be any better. San Diego county has a long history of electing scum like this. For god's sake, we replaced Duke Cunningham with the lobbyist Bilbray.

The same arguments are being used that were used to justify the twin atrocites known as the Patriot Acts and the Military commissions acts: "We need to give our people the tools they need to get the job done". It's worked everytime so far to get Democrats to support Bush's rape campaign he is waging upon constitutional protections. congress needs to be told no. No more. Enough is enough is too much.
I have a theory about FISA, the real reason they want to change it is because there has been so much privatization of the intelligence agencies that the intelligence "industry" for lack of a better word is find it can expand any further until FISA is amended.
