The Man with a (Non) Plan
I'm supposed to be writing about Rudy Giuliani's health care plan today. And I would, if Rudy Giuliani had a health care plan. But Rudy Giuliani doesn't have a health care plan. What he has is a pretext with which to attack the Democrats. Indeed, just about all you need to know about Giuliani's thoughtfulness on the issue can be summed up by the following: In the speech introducing and detailing his new health care proposal, Giuliani refers to the "Democrats" six times. "Single-payer" is said eight times. "Socialized medicine," or some variant thereof, makes nine appearances. "Uninsured" is never uttered -- not once. Read on...

YOU SUCK, MAYOR PUTTY TAT!
RUDY SUCKS DUDE!!!!!!!!!!
trust me i lived in ny for 30 yrs,, hes bad for the big apple and bad for bizz!
...that'll teach 'im.
What a shock! A repugnacan without a plan.
"Giuliani refers to the “Democrats” six times. “Single-payer” is said eight times. “Socialized medicine,” or some variant thereof, makes nine appearances. “Uninsured” is never uttered — not once"
That's all you need to know. Scare the hell out of the average (econmically) dupes and rubes who are going to vote Republican and against their own interests.
Amazing.
Now that the Democrats have ruled out correcting paperless electronic voting systems in time for the 08 elections ("there would be chaos" Diane Feinstein insincerely and unbelievably claims, as if no one had thought of this for the last six years, and now that the Democrats have ruled out holding anyone accountable for the multitudinous crimes committed by this administration, we may as well get used to another stolen election with Guiliani as our next president. Pelosi, the traitor bought and paid for by a foreign government, claims "we don't want to impeach anybody because we must spend our valuable time with more useful legislative actions", or something to that effect. President Guiliani. Oh you can be sure he'll carry on the good work by this administration.
We need full Socialized Medicine. Call it communist, call it welfare, call it whatever the hell you want, but everybody else in the modern world has it. What did they sacrifice to get it? Fewer Insurance Companies. Thats it....nothing more....nothing less.
Prove me wrong.
You can't.
Ah Rudy. He wants a presidential reward for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. He's the guy that the republicans want. They can keep him.
What exactly is Rudy running on? Abortion? Family values? Competence in hiring people around him? Healthcare? Religion? How to run a big city? I’m perplexed.
Proof positive why he's leading the GOP field: no plan; no ideas; only fear mongering and infantile soundbites.
Rudy just sucks! Even his own son has issues with ´´dad´´! that man is so mobbed up its incrediable.
The dickhead didint do jack shit with the NYCFD!!! if anything he really screwed em over. Toppers are,, he charged over 100 grand for a speech about 9/11!!!! and the dillwad was allowed to get away with this??
Rudy,, go back to you mob ties. You seem to have done much better there then anywhere else.
As the ruins and bones lay in a tiny island of the 9/11 victims, called Fresh Kills landfill , is where those who died,, lay.

Agreed. Guiliani is a simple salesman as are all Republicans. All they have to offer are simple sales pitches that come in the form of fear or one liners that last for a short period of time. Beyond that, they have nothing and are nothing.
IMO, the only reason Guliani is leading the repub pack, is because repub voters are desperate. They simply have no favorite platform. They have no moral insticnt because they quickly sold out the religeous right, not to mention the massive numbers of repubs in jail or about to be for corruption. Taxes verses fund the war and rapidly growing massive debt leaves them stunned into a mind bending funk about the idea of tax cuts. Inferior military equipment, mind boggling over and over rotating tours of repeated duty in in the war zones, and, crappy Veteran medical care simply destroys their, "we repubs support the Troops", false reputation. Repubs have never supported funding public works infrastructure since Eisenhower, (and they even fought him tooth and nail over it). They are sending jobs overseas and turning their heads when inferior products kill our people. They cannot hide the fact that by and large they are incompetent.
They have nothing and no-one to crow about except some 9/11 sympathy for Guliani.
Thats it.
Guiliani is a NOBODY, who was at the right place on 9/11 and he didn't do anything anyone else wouldn't have done.
He sure is no President Material and if you FOLKs in the US are stupid enough to vote for him, you deserve what you are getting.
I like to say, I told you so about Bush, but I will not do so, since he wasn't elected, but selected. LOL
'So tell me, Rudy, what do you think of the health plan for children?'
'9/11'
'If you are elected president, what will be your position on a single-payer health plan?'
'9/11'
'What should be done about the health problems of the WTC rescue workers?'
'9/11'
'If you were a Bush, what kind of Bush would you be?'
'9/11'
TDoff @ 16:
and what did you have to turn your back on to be promised a run for president why 911!
Captain Kangaroo @ 9:
He's running on empty.
Imagine how much more rabid and reactionary Rudy's going to get over the next few months. He must appease the fleas.
Rudy really isn't ready for prime time. He has no serious qualifications to be president, just a lot of arrogant swagger and staggering presumption. He presided over an 'aftermath' not a 'prevention'. There were many 'leaders' on 9/11 in NYC and he was merely one, and not even the biggest: Bush out did him, even George Pataki, who was governor of NY then. He only has that day to run on, and it's pretty much empty now, Rudy. You slander Dems by saying they don't get 'it'. Well, one of them will get 'it': the Presidency. You, sir, are just full of 'it'. Good night.
Rudy is a One-Note-Wonder. His ONLY message is FEAR.
His KIDS hate him.
His old FIRE DEPARTMENT shows him NO RESPECT.
His SHIT on his second wife PUBLICLY.
He put his EMERGENCY COMMAND CENTER inside New York City's NUMBER ONE TERRORIST TARGET.
He actually SAID: "Thank God George Bush is president..." on 9/11.
Yea... GOOD IDEA... he should run for President.
This Republican presidential campaign is like a used car lot with everything on blocks.
Giuliani looks like he could use a V8.
Ghouliani should get a BOOst in the poles around Halloween.
I think there is a bipartisan effort afoot to demonize single payer. Both Clinton and Obama are favoring subsidizing the insurance companies as part of their universal health care. Kucinich, and perhaps Gravel and Edwards, favor single payer health care.
This subsidizing the insurance companies is similar to the prescription drug program (Medicare D), which was a shift of the price gouging by the drug companies from the elderly to the tax payer, without any effort to rein in the costs. It was a political fix to prevent locking up Grandma for importing drugs from Canada, necessary for a solution to protect the drug companies from competition.
This idea of subsidizing the insurance companies is along the same vein. It seems to me, the only way to absorb the costs of covering the uninsured is to go single payer, through Medicare, as I understand by removing the profit structure, Medicare overhead is far less than the insurance companies. This reduction in overhead would yield the savings necessary to cover the uninsured.
The comptroller of the U.S. is making the rounds now, saying that the benefit programs in general are unsustainable from an actuarial basis. These proposals to have universal health insurance coverage in the form of insurance company subsidies probably is also unsustainable.
The debate should not be solely whether to have universal health care, or not, but how to craft the program so that it is fiscally sustainable.
Perhaps "america's mayor", (the crook, liar, mafia-connected friend bernard etc.), should spend a little LESS time trying to solve the world's problems, with lies and distortions, and a little MORE time trying to figure out why he's been married and divorced a total of five times, claims to be a catholic (can't be), his kid won't speak to him, wonder why.
And this is who we think can "lead us"?
TIKI AL @ 25:
If he shows up in a dress, please, nobody please take the trick.
He really really scares me. If there could be somebody worse than Bush it might be him.
Frightening!
gempei @ 28:
I bet there's alot of smudged lipstick on a certain chimp's ass.
I think that the biggest problem that I have with Giuliani is his reported management style. When his police commissioner started to get too much credit for cleaning up New York, Rudy fired him. He believed that the way to achieve results was to antagonize everybody, perhaps some sort of 'scare them straight' tactic. He left many departments in a dysfunctional mess, just like his personal life.
If it wasn't for that and a few other things, I'd be glad if he were the Republican candidate. (I don't subscribe to the view of hoping for the worst possible candidate for the other side -- since they might end up winning...) He might end the lock that the extreme right wingers have on the Republicans, which might actually force some Democrats back over the line. However if I recall, he did raise his hand for dropping a nuclear bomb on Iran.
What makes you think he is a man?
I think I "get it" now. It's a Jerry Seinfeld campaign. It's a campaign about nothing!
TIKI AL @ 30:
Sure he's got a plan: Carry on the Glorius Dictatorship! That only requires making it up as you go along, you know, to suit yourself and no other. What could be simpler?
Rudy is part of a socialized plan, paid for by the American tax payers. So is Bush. It's odd these guys thing a socialized plan is bad for everyone except them selves. The we rely on the Fire Department, the Police Department, the Post Office and the Libraries. It's worked out so far.
The health care in America costs more than in any other country per MSNBC. Could that be because insurance companies and hospitals have greedy corporate executives trying to make as much money off the deal as possible? I'm not a Michael Moore fan, but I would like to encourage everyone to see Sicko. We've heard the corporate side on CNN. It's time to hear the other side.
I can hear Guilliani slapping his forehead now exclaiming, "I could've had a V8!"
Funny thing though was Nazis were frequently overheard saying the same thing.
Rudy's prayin' for another 9/11, to help his campaign.
Don Ghuliani sucks, vote Ron Paul!
