Caught On Tape! The Plot To Bury Progress
For the past seven months, the Democratic majority in Congress has been overshadowed by a mysterious force. In spite of overwhelming support from the American people and the hard work of Democrats, legislative priorities have stalled time after time.
Today, the Campaign for America's Future revealed evil force behind this obstructionism. See it right here, right now. You're among the first to learn the secret.....

Why do I feel a sudden urge to play Frogger? I mean, just because I still have the high score since 1987...
Wow. Jason Alexander...
me-oww!
This would be funny if it were not for the moral cowardice and lousy 'leadership' we are seeing from the 'Idiot Dems'.
I mean what the 'Democrat' Party is 'doing' in Congress isn't even mediocre politics.
It's BAD politics.
Well, Jason Alexander certainly "gets it", and is trying to spread the word in his own inimitable way. Kudos to him.
Well done Mr. Jason Alexander!
I couldnt read the text from Lott at the end, otherwise it was great to see George Costanza again. I always liked that guy.
Utterly pathetic! No wonder congressional Democrats have
[Apparently nabalzbffr's mommy needed him out of the basement and up at the dinner table]
Might as well laugh as cry....
Thanks, Mr. Alexander.
That's flippin' sweet!
I applaud Congress on their pedestrian legislative successes, but they are failing miserably at what the people put them there to do; namely, stop the Iraq war and stop Bush's constitutional transgressions. The poublic will rightfully view Congress as part of the problem, along with bushCo, so long as they do not stop the war and they do not stop the unconstituional corruption evidenced by Gonza and FISA.
Why won't the Dems do something that really matters? The answer is the dems and the repubs are the same, working for the same goal.
It is funny to watch this blog and others of its ilk play this rah-rah dem bullshit while the Dems fall flat on their face on FISA. Interesting timing.
More from George Costanza, on George the Dictator: BUSHFELD: THE NEW SITCOM ABOUT NOTHING (EXCEPT DESTROYING THE PLANET)
They will never serve the people because they have been in on it from the beginning. to blame rove is just utterly silly. if the dems were so upset by all these jokers not showing up on the hill, they would REALLY do something. But they cant because well the are just as fucking crooked. America has fully swung to the right, and the tele and PR madness that spews from it will keep us here. We have reached nirvana,, a compliant cooperate fascist state that people like to call "democracy." The federal government has been successfully reduced to a giant utter that the major defense contractors and lovers of death can nurse on while their mouth pieces scream about how terrifying socialism is.

"Liberating Iraq Bush Style"
1 hour, 4 minutes ago
BAGHDAD - Iraq's power grid is on the brink of collapse because of insurgent sabotage, rising demand, fuel shortages and provinces that are unplugging local power stations from the national grid, officials said Saturday.
"We no longer need television documentaries about the Stone Age. We are actually living in it. We are in constant danger because of the filthy water and rotten food we are having," said Hazim Obeid, who sells clothing at a stall in the Karbala market.
I thought so, I was just afraid to say anything.
Kind of stoopid and fun... kind of powerful. My kid ran out of the room when Constanzamort jumped out>:[
BUSH ABOLISHED BOTH 4TH AND 5TH AMENDMENTS?! I'm serious... someone posted this on a social networking site. It looks awfully true. Read this....
http://www.roguegovernment.com/news.php?id=3329
Rove did not, for one second, stand in the way of A SINGLE DEMOCRATIC SENATOR from standing up and refusing to yield.
Any one of them could have stopped this war.
Any one of them could have stopped the FISA bill from giving Alberto Gonzalez even more power.
The film is cute, but it does NOT reveal the secret. It cannot because there is no secret anymore.
The truth is in and it has to hurt: They are all a bunch of cowards and political hacks.
NewNameAcquired @ 19:
If he abolished the 5th amendment, it sure looks like he didn`t mean for it to apply to the Bush ganf that has been appearing in the US attorney hearings or any of the other oversight hearings that have been going on .
Serenity Now! Serenity Now!
I enjoyed Jason Alexander in his Seinfeld days, and now my respect for him has just multipied hundredfold. WELL DONE!!
True and scary.
Paper ballots for all!
Way to go Jason!
I feel good about this country again.
NewNameAcquired @ 19:
Well it looks like I'll be screwed if they find out that I've been funneling funds to Iraqi insurgents. Don't tell anyone. O.K?
I think Newman's behind this whole thing. Newman!
First of all, I would like to say I am a fan of both Jason Alexander and Harry Potter, but to me, this video fell flat. The reasons are present in the comments above, so I'll briefly summarize. As much as I would like to paint Bush as an evil, incompetent reactionary and arguably the worst president in American history, I cannot forget how complicit the Democrats were in helping Bush carry out his policies. Trying to paint Harry "impeachment is off the table" Reid as some sort of hero or white knight reeks of the self-serving political hypocrisy that is the bane of modern American political discourse.
The left of America is not well served by stooping to these political games, because it only serves as a distraction to the real issues. On actual policy, the left only need to play its trump card: the overwhelming evidence that supports its case. Putting all the hopes and dreams of the left on the Democrats is like expecting and cheering for the Detroit Lions to win the Superbowl; foolish.
I don't have the space to elaborate so this might strike many readers as odd, but I wanted to mention it lest I be labeled a cynic. The two party system America has is an artifact of our election process (plurality). There are alternatives (Condorcet method) that would better represent the views of the populace while maintaining representative democracy. The issues being faced, such as the Iraq War or Climate Change are not so much a problem with the people of America, but rather their representatives in Washington carrying out their wishes. A solution is to make democracy work better through a better election process, until then the battle will be consistently uphill on populace issues.
Thank you Jason! That was funny as hell...."No progress in congress" LMAO!
Any defending the democrats are as despicable as the repubs, as both the repubs and dems are part of a corrupt government for a select few that needs to crumble and then rebuilding. Our current leaders need to rot Mussolini style for a rebirth to occur. This country is in serious trouble.
brilliant!
That was weak. I support the message but the delivery was lame.
Bradley Jones makes some excellent points.
Really pathetic. Do we really need to make Rove into a type of cartoonish Satan to make a point? Why not just have him laughing diabolically and drooling blood. Really childish.
By the way, if Rove is so frickin brilliant (I always thought him either over rated or an idiot), how did he bring a president's approval rating from 90 to 25 percent?
It's Time We Talk About The Attack On Congressional And Senatorial Democrats
The video said a lot I could not, before now, put into words. With only eight months in their leadership role, there is a force destroying the efforts of the Democratic Party. The Republicans see big losses in 2008, so they have "taken off the gloves" and begun to fight like they were fighting for their very existence. The Republicans control two three branches of power: The unofficial media, the executive and the judiciary.
Unlike anytime I can remember, the Republicans own the press, and they serve to mis-characterize Democratic representatives, support Bush's wild assertions, and coordinate with the president to maximize their efforts against the Democrats. At every turn, the media is becoming ever more conservative as they compete for Fox's title of the most conservative cable TV network. CNN and MSNBC all highlight conservatives causes all day long. This fact has forced the Democrats and the far left to the Blogs and the internet for their campaign adds. In short, the media is wilding a lot of power for the Republicans and the Bush administration.
Have you ever wondered what the overthrow of our government would look like? Would it be a slow process -- slowly disregarding the core constitutional laws of our country by a president -- by which the use of executive privilege is the primary tool used to initiate the overthrow process? Would the funding for such a project be masked in a eight Billion, we don't know where the money went, dollar write off involving the Iraqi war? One law here; another law there, and before you know it, you have a subtle dictatorship. Think about the times we are in as I note this comment. The executive branch is too powerful and will not except any checks to its powers. This fact sounds like a DICTATORSHIP, and the worst could be yet to come. Bush has made Democratic congressmen look like puppets that he adjust by pulling strings. Bush's biggest ally is his Party. Right now they are obstructing every legislative attempt by Democrats only to call them a do nothing congress later. Hell, this has worked so good some of the Democrats own members are calling themselves losers. The Democrats never scene this move coming and still cannot see the dynamics surrounding their leaders.
When the Democrats do get fed up with this president's manipulation and power grabbing tactics, they have hope the courts -- the supreme court -- will make the laws of the land prevail. This branch of government is important to the scheme of things, but not the absolute force affecting the power dynamics everyday. When they do weight in on things, it will become evident why Bush stacked the courts. If Bush were to be charged with any crimes it will become very evident why the courts were stacked. Still, I hold a bit of hope for this branch to say enough is enough and not let our country be destroyed by anybody for any reason.
Joseph
I think the number were fudge from the beginning. We have seen the vote fudge, the polls fudge, the threat of WMD fudge, the al-quieda/Iraq connection fudge. I can not even be sure that Bush even had a 90% and possibly maybe for that tiny moment when he stand in the middle of the ruble and said he will find out who did this and make them pay, then he went after another country pretending he found it. He found instead another fudge!
Another ass kissing example from the Hollywood left to the Dems'..shameful;and Hollywood wonders why they lose more and more money each year
The Democrats are worried that they will be seen as a do nothing congress. I am looking for a candidate that will do nothing, and not afraid of doing nothing. I am more afraid of a president that have done too much, that a do nothing congress is what I would dream having. I wish they were all do nothing, until the liberal have control of the votes. So I want everyone to send congrats to the Democrats that tried to do nothing or let nothing get pass. Spread the word that do nothing is the duty to our constituent who voted that nothing Bush wants will get done!
We voted in November to do one thing and that is to impeach. Impeach is the word! If we impeach then the war will stop anyway. We would impeach on the premise that he start an illegal war. Impeachment is the way to go. Impeach would solve several problems, thwarting future president to wield wrongful use of power, send a message of goodwill to all other country, end the war, work on global warming, distribute the wealth more fairly, work on infrastructure, make America safer from terrorist and national disaster.
Danny @ 36:
How is that, where your figures?
I didn't know Hollywood wonders why they are losing money? I have seen nothing in any report that political views were effecting the monetary gross of sales of Hollywood film.
Al Gore and Micheal Moore film had great ratings and sales, and seem to support the opposite of your views. Live Earth was a huge event, and 70% of the people are now against Bush. It would therefore seem that bashing the loyal Bushies would be the popular money making ride to be on. Humor and horror has to be near the top of movie trend as more people want to escape the reality of this country. Combine horror or comedy with the political snarkism would be the best ticket for sales in this country now!
tbhull @ 11:
Do you understand the meaning of the word "filibuster" and "slim majority?" You would do well to see what Democratic leaders are crafting and trying to push through. You and all the other "Congress sucks" folks who lump the entire bunch into one big failure aren't looking at who is voting on what. The Democrats cannot MAKE something happen unless they get enough votes in Congress. Granted there are some Dems who cross the aisle to vote with Republicans but the majority of them DO have the same agenda of the American people... but it's a slim majority.
BTW: I am a registered Green. I don't love Democrats but I know when people are getting an unfair shake by the mainstream media.
So that's why some of the Democratic Congress can't just say no to Bush.
It is good to see someone of prominence expressing how they feel about the attack on our Constitution.
AbbeyHoffmansGhost @ 25:
You must enjoy being ignorant. You make it a habit.
paul @ 33:
Maybe the real question is, "How did he do that without getting Bush Impeached?"
Don't forget; every statewide office held by a Republican in Texas in the 1990's was orchestrated by Karl Rove.
Every last one.
That was sweet. Seeing Jason play KKKarl is quite poetic. However, I completely disagree with the premise. KKKarl isn't the only dark force working against progress. The pathetic dems we voted in are doing quite well supporting he who should be impeached. I don't expect the repugs to support the dems, or the troops, or the american people. They have done everything in the power for the last 7 years to ruin this country, why would they change now? I did ( however foolishly ) expect the dems to fight the powers of the dark lords. They haven't. If anything, they are now supporting them.
Hate KKKarl as much as you like, but he isn't the only one screwing the American people.
I'm SLOWLY starting to see on the blogs a group voicing what I feel.
They is all crooked, and they all are paid and bought for by the same corps.
Paid and bought for by the same lobbyists.
And it's all there and for the googling and reading, and it's not new news.
Dem's. Pub's. All equeally compliant, and guilty of all the things that have been said of them.
I'm delighted the BLOGS are FINALLY catching up to this . . . for a while, the pseudo progressives were really fuckin depressing me with their continued support and capitulation to, the same forces the lobbyists represent . . money.
Unfortunately, a HUGE social change in the nature of our politics, and adherence to the Constitution, and seperation of powers, is impossible.
So plan for the worst, and expect it.
Take yer money, if you HAVE any, outta the market, cuz it's on it's way belly up.
And I'm not sure, any investments to gold/silver will help.
Once the econ house of cards collapses, it's all gone.
Trading gold for food or water won't wash, I don't think.
I think I'm for boycotting the corporations that buy public policy from the Republicans, especially that Vandelay Industries.
Rufus T. Firefly @ 39:
The dems cannot vote as a group like the repubs and as a result they are a fucking failure as a group. I do not give a shit what they are planning, at this point in the game it is about results and they have produced no meaningful results.
Prepare to be shocked as we complete the puzzle but don't be fooled by
REPUBLICRATS THEY ARE BOTH RESPONSIBLE...

Follow the money...
Thought for the day: Mansions make excellent children's hospitals.
Words cannot express my frustration with the Democratic Party following their compliance with Bush's FISA program expansion request. Its time WE PROGRESSIVES TAKE OFF THE GLOVES and take the Democratic party back to the people. Pitch in for progressive challengers in the primaries and kick the Blue Dog Dempublican shitheads out!!
