Mike's Blog Round Up
Hi kids, Skippy the Bush Kangaroo here, guest blogging the Round Up for the week, so let's get started!
Too bad the Minnesota Dept. of Transportation decided against reinforcing the I-35 bridge last winter, even tho they knew the supports were cracking. But don't worry, aWol gave a speech, so, everything's ok.
Gee, you'd think that in the NYTimes article about the study that found women in big cities make more than men, they would point out that race was a factor (and not the way you would think)!
Hint to Republicans: Offering oral sex really isn't a good way to get away from someone who makes you nervous, because kind of the exact opposite thing would happen. Trust me on this.
Anyone planning to march in Washington next month?
Eat Blue Gal's dust, Michelle Malkin!
And let me add my voice to the growing chorus of those who repeatedly say: I agree with Digby (specifically this time about the Congressional Dems rubber-stamping aWol's unchecked powers).
That's all for now, kids! Send any tips to Skippybkroo at AOL dot com! And I'll see you in Blogtopia (and yes, I coined that phrase!)

Poppy Bush talked about it. George W. Bush made it happen.

Yes, planning on going to the demo in DC next month. Again. Even though I swore I wouldn't, after a DC motorcycle cop deliberately tried to run over my feet as I was sitting on the curb.
And like at the link, we always take in the free museums while there. A wonderful example of what a benevolent government can provide. Also planning a second visit to the Holocaust museum. They list the laws passed that legally installed Hitler as dictator. Our fascism here is occurring much slower.
GSD, that is really creepy.
If only we understood at the time.

jesus........
Wow... not only do they use cowardice to get out of fighting a war they pimped, but they use cowardice as an excuse as to why they pimped themselves out. This and the fact that the Dems never grow a spine when dealing with Repubs show that our entire government is just a bunch of chicken shits.
I'm going to try to go...I want to go....I just hope life doesn't get in the way of me going...I have to start making arrangements
Guess why the Minnesota DOT decided not to reinforce the bridge. Phew-lenty picked as his Lt. Governor....the Head of the DOT...and she went along with earmarking millions of dollars to protect the republicans at their convention here in Minnesota next year. And of course they had to use the money that they had available to BUILD a new stadium.
That was a heck of a lot more important then reinforcing the bridge.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Consumers should not eat certain brands of French-cut green beans because of concerns they could be tainted with the toxin that causes botulism, U.S. health officials warned on Friday.
The green beans were manufactured by Lakeside Foods Inc. of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and packaged in 14.5-ounce cans, the Food and Drug Administration said
House approves $460B Pentagon budget
$3.5 billion of the money to domestic spending programs.
During the very time Congress was debating codifying President Bush's lawbreaking by revising FISA, Alberto Gonzales' DOJ was raiding the home of a former Justice official to identify the person who first brought the illicit program to light.

I love Rep. Allen's story!
OK, I'm not a guy, but wouldn't most straight men, if forced to choose, rather receive oral sex from a man than perform it on a man? I guess he was just afraid of being raped; it's really common for rapists to offer to pay their victims, I think. I really like how he manages to show that not only is he a closeted and hypocritical homosexual, he is also, according to himself, a bigot.
Just beautiful.
Congratulations on the guest spot, Skippy!
And don't forget me now that you've made it big. ;-)
I have a brand new episode of my infamous Stalking Points Memo: Kos & Effect.
It's sort of a video mash up of Bill O'Reilly's Talking Points and Colbert's The Word. As the YearlyKos conference wraps up, this edition features O'Reilly's obsession with destroying DailyKos.
WAKE UP to this too - YKOS Convention ==> Hillary is another CLONE of George Bush !!!
How come C&L does not report that at YKOS Convention Hillary was BOOOOOOED by the netroot bloggers for defending her "For SALE' attitude w/ lobbyists??!
[Because, we know some jackass will come along and do it for us. Thanks CR-Sitemonitor]
Hillary "refused Saturday to forsake campaign donations from lobbyists, turning aside challenges from her two main rivals with a rare defense of the special interest industry. She refused responsibility for her crappy 'medical insurance' schemes which have tanked BECAUSE of her ever-lasting affair with ANY money that she can suck up to, including the strong anti-universal care lobby. The other day she's stated her BS medical care plan was great, but marketing ("political side") lacked..!!!! She should be with Falafel Orally in his Falafel Fucter, w/ Pennis Miller as her only commentator.

“A lot of those lobbyists, whether you like it or not, represent real Americans, they actually do,” Clinton said, drawing boos and hisses from liberal bloggers at the second Yearly Kos convention."
.."part of what Mr. Edwards said: “Now I think my party, the Democratic party, the party of the people, ought to say from this day forward we will never take a dime from these Washington insiders.”
Then it was Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s turn: “Well, well, I think it’s a position that John certainly has taken. Well, I have to say that I don’t, I don’t think based on my 35 years in fighting for what I believe in anybody seriously believes I am going to be influenced by a lobbyist or a particular interest group.”
At that point, the audience booed loudly. And Senator Clinton actually seemed to chuckle a bit — and said, “I’ve been waiting for this” in acknowledgment that she wasn’t necessarily on the top of the blogosphere’s favorite candidates — as people laughed. ""
She IS LAUGHING OFF concerns of every decent American - 'TRUST ME" bullshit, just like Booosh, Gonzo, and all other criminals. AIPAC send her more dough already.
[Deleted-A lie. Watch yourself CR. You are close to a banning. C&L is not endorsing ANY candidate at this time and there are LOTS of stories we don't have the time or manpower to cover as much as we'd like]
Love on ya, Skippy honey, thanks for the link. xo
Congrats on the guest spot Skippy!
And thanks for the link to my little bit on the Doughy Pantload. I will be watching carefully to see if he mentions the gunfire in Victoria, BC when his little NRO cruise was berthed there. And, yes, it was really, really loud.
Wish I'd been down below to watch it.
I think we may have a skippy impostor posting the roundup??? I have never seen skippy use capital letters...
Alright C&L... Where is the real skippy? :)
Nice round-up, Skippy!
Connecticut Man1 @ 16:
Good catch, CT Man. I asked skippy the same question last night. Bless him, he's trying to write it the way he thought we'd want it.
BlueGal, my buddy, congrats on the #1. ;)
And to CappuccettoRosso, C&L is not endorsing any candidate at this time, so I think you know where you can take your pro-Hillary accusations. Please. I've been accused of being for and against EVERY candidate depending on the post. Don't impugn C&L just because we don't cover what YOU THINK OUGHT TO BE COVERED (intentionally capitalized to show just how petulant you are) WHEN YOU THINK IT SHOULD BE COVERED. I think there are a lot more interesting stories than the netroots isn't succumbing to Hillary fever...a subject we've covered before. You know, like the House caving on FISA...like persecuting a whistle-blower, etc. etc.
It seems to me the only one here with a clear agenda is YOU.
In defense of the US and state DOT's policy on bridges, it is much easier to determine where and when a bridge is going to fail by examining it after the collapse. And their policy of 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it', explains a lot.
A lot is being accomplished this August.
The Iraq government is resting up to be ready to dispute the September report.
The US Congressional democrats have ceded all powers to Bush and Gonzales.
Bush is going to rest up in Crawford and plot how to take the most advantage of the democratic concessions and whether he has enough power now for the final move of the coup.
Congressional democrats are going to take a vacation and come up with various Snow/Perino-like spins on how much they've accomplished.
As for the rest of us, it might be a good time to apply for citizenship in Mexico, or Costa Rica, or Spain, or Bulgaria.
Hint: Try to find a country where US currency is worth more than a penny on the dollar.
Whether or not you're planning to march in Washington next month, you'd better prepare to.
Insiders say that the coup is going to be finalized in September, and Washington is going to be the assembly point for all traitorous Iraq war dissenters, from which they will be dispersed to the various Halliburton 're-education' camps throughout the US (those that 'pass' the initial screening, and are not transported to Guantanamo or renditioned to Egypt or Poland).
What a boon that will be for all the Mexican 'immigrants without papers'. Their standard of living and average wage is going to jump way up as they take over the 'traitors' jobs.
(How are non-english-speaking folks going to fare as librarians in the US? Why not, Bush is doing it as president)
Hint: Try to find a country where US currency is worth more than a penny on the dollar.
The US currency is worth more than 100 zillion dollars on the dollar! I saw it on whatchamacallit the O'Reilly Repor'!
connecticut man1 @ 16:
as nicole pointed out, i figured, when in rome, etc. etc. but tomorrow i will be back to my capital-less self!
Hint to Republicans: Offering oral sex really isn’t a good way to get away from someone who makes you nervous, because kind of the exact opposite thing would happen. Trust me on this.
"Afraid of a black man? I can relate to that," says Hypothetical Republican supporter.
Thanks for the link, I don't mind some extra traffic,
chuck
Afraid of black men and weather?
How is this sissy supposed to stand up to Al Quada if he's afraid of Al Roker and El Nino?
I see a future for Allen in gay porn snuff films
RE: Minnesota Dept of Trans. not reinforcing the bridge:
sounds so sickeningly familiar to a New Orleanian who, prior to Hurricane Katrina, had seen news special after news special after new special and expert after expert after expert talking about "the big one," and how the levee board had better get them levees reinforced ASAP or the soup bowl known as NOLA would be under 10-30 ft of water, and i can't tell you how many times I heard "could be this hurricane season, could be the next, could be in 10 years, but it's gonna happen at some point and the levees as they are will not survive..."
i wonder how many cities around this country who have faced and will face mass tragedy have had to suffer the neglectful hands of those who want to be in charge and sit on the finger for years until the big one happens, who've had to suffer the cutting of crucial funds...and so on...puke vomit barf.
