Mike's Blog Round Up

hi kids, skippy the bush kangaroo here, with today's round up:

continuing with the economic questions of the week: how's the dollar doing? how's your health care plan? how are your stocks? how are your bonds?

here's more - everything, in fact - on the minneapolis bridge collapse. here's the number of contractor deaths in iraq. here's the scenic route thru san diego. here's how saddam hussein is like barry bonds. and here's actual journalism!

from the blog round up department of domesticity: is our babies learning? what are they learning from their heterosexual parents? plus, of course a son can serve his country by getting his dad elected president! and, i now pronounce you yao and wife.

then there's always the la county registrar who is more concerned with diebold's profits than voting integrity. and is that marmoset in your hat or are you just happy to see me?

in case you were wondering what tunes he grooved out to, they found hitler's record collection. and since it's instapundit's blogiversary, let's all have some ice cream!

that's it for today, kids! send your tips to skippybkroo at aol dot com in blogtopia, and yes, i coined that phrase!

Anyone watching Busholini's presser?

Orwell's Illegitimate Son's picture

Drink up! We're partying like it's 1929! Man, this band is AWESOME! Gee, that sure is a pretty big piece of ice...

Feist!

Listening to bush is torturous. His mangling of the language hurts my ears.
bush:::: "er er, I ,,I uhhh, well, let me put it this way, ahhh, well er, the uh, the 'conomy is good, 'merican people have ta unnerstand that, uh er"

I had to turn it off, there are too many loose things in my living room that I might throw through the screen.

Dr. Acula's picture

Now he's defending 'Fredo in between smirks, smiles and sneers.

i will read all 21 links as soon as this press conference is over.

Dumbest…… President…… Ever!

Painful, isn’t he? Thank God I have to turn off his press conference to make it to my root canal appointment.

Dr. Acula's picture

Gort, I expect your root canal will be less painful.

Bliss compared to listening to the slack-jawed chimp trying to make a neuron fire.

But I do love commenting on his imbecility.

Dr. Acula's picture

Geez, anyone listening to CSPAN-3 -- there's some a-hole from SC blabbering now how we're fighting against Mohammed.

Indeed, but he's the most dangerous person on earth.

Bush was talking as if he was deflated and depressed. He is a failed President. Everything he has tried has failed. The thing that scares me though is that his numbers are back up to 36%. I don't know what is wrong with the American people that about four out of ten still support this tool.

Now people are out supporting Hillary, which will be like Bush Lite. When will people wake up and see that we need a fresh air to clean out Washington. It's time for Edwards/Obama or Obama/Edwards. Please do not vote Hillary in the primaries.

Orwell's Illegitimate Son's picture

Bush is merely a reflection of ordinary Americans.

Here in Pittsburgh, the five-year-olds that run around masquerading as adults have decided upon a nickname for the newly-introduced Steelers mascot:

Steely McBeam - "Steely" because, you know, we're the "Steel City"; the "Mc" to denote the Irish heritage of the Steelers' owners, the Rooneys, and "Beam" not just for a beam of steel, but because the (wo)man who came up with the name says that's the kind of whiskey her husband likes to drink, Jim Beam.

And, nowhere in the local press will you find a story about China's threat to go to the "nuclear option" and torpedo the US dollar. But, there is plenty of coverage of the Steelers' training camp.

Ship of fools, sinking quickly.

Janet's picture

What a painful thing to wake up to. What an idiot liar this pres is.
He says as soon as he heard about Tillman and friendly fire he said there should be an investigation. NOT ONE of the idiot press asked why he is refusing to cooperate with the investigators.
He said we are in Iraq to build democracy and need to do this so we won't be attacked again cuz the Middle East will like us then. WTF!!! We have MORE enemies now than before.
Chris Matthews is gushing about how wonderful bush was today.
I couldn't watch much more. Scrubbing my toilet seemed more fun.

budda's picture

Janet @ 14:

NOT ONE of the idiot press asked

Our media ask NO tough questions. I was about ready to cry at the stupid questions being asked half the time. We need to get some Brit reporters over here because they atleast ask hard questions. I wish someone would stand up and say, "Mr. President, or so the Supreme Court says, you said the terrorist would not take our freedom - but the twist is it seems you are the one putting our freedom under attack - you are spying on Americans and ripping up the Constitution and the Bill of Rights - how dare you sir?"

He just wouldn't say that he would get to the bottom of what happened to Tillman. Why?

I guess I'm losing my mind because I have begun to find his stammering funny and when he draws a mental blank, I fill in the gap with my own opinion of what I think he's really thinking. Kind of makes for a game and at the same time keeps the blood pressure at a healthy level.

And the press corpse are still amused by the Chimperor's antics, politely laughing. They should be laughing AT him instead of encouraging the petulant child.

I'm beyond disgusted.

Tweety-Bird Matthews came on afterwards to say how strong and succint bush was.

Ignominious-bush's picture

bush spent lots of time talking about the housing market and how it is NOT in trouble. Guess h doesn't realize the selloff of the last week is caused by the housing market. Dow is now down 240 because of it.

Chimp speaks in few words not because he is succinct, but because his vocabulary is that of a sixth grader who ride the short bus. (My apologies to the other riders.) And if he does try to let loose with a three-syllable word, he trips all over it. He’s just plain stupid and 99% of this country should know that and 100% of the press should take him to task on his asinine answers.

I would pity the guy if he wasn’t so lethal.

I see that "opine" is again one of his favorite words. I always like that one.

Why do they even do these pressers. We can predict what he's going to say and even how he's going to try to say it. Sometimes he gives the media people the same look my dad used to give me. It's that look that says, if you do that one more time young lady, you know what's going to happen. bush seems to think everyone is below him in all ways and that he is the dad of the whole fu*king world.

Dr. Acula's picture

Busholini's pressers are absolutely useless as is the press corpse. Why doesn't ANYONE call the liar-in-chief a liar? I don't care if it be someone in the press, someone in Congress, just SOMEONE with some "juice".

WHY IS EVERYONE AFRAID OF THIS IDIOT?

I sat at the bar last night with a mortgage initiator? and not only did he say he never saw it so bad, but also how quickly credit has dried up. He said that no one at his company is allowed to write-up home mortgages unless the party’s credit rating is almost a perfect score and that they come up with large down payments and that the property has two appraisals. And they are forbidden to take on any Florida properties (he live and works in the Chicago area, as I) because that area is so bad. Last year he said he was doing 0% down loans with persons with so-so credit and NO appraisals necessary.

Needless to say, he drank his share of booze.

Having retired as an Engineer with one of the U.S.'s largest Electric Utility, I can say that his comments on the Infrastructure in this country are something he pulled out of his ass. Our Electric Grid is in terrible shape. A coordinated attack on as little as three strategic power-towers could shut down the country.
Try to imagine 3/4's of the country losing power, EVERYTHING would come to a standstill. No gas pumped, no manufacturing, no telephones, internet....nothing.
Bridges should be important, but they are second to the power grid when it comes to securing the country.

Boosh on AG:

Why would I hold somebody accountable who's done nothing wrong?...

Matter of fact, I would hope Congress would become more prone to deliver pieces of legislation that matter rather than being the investigative body,..

I guess he learned some talking points from those little "press meetings" with chowderheads like Hannity. I can't believe he actually used the fancy word "prone."

What the idiot seems to totally miss was that "Oversight" (investigating) is what Congress is supposed to do.
This guy is not Presidential, he is embarrassing.

Wow... a home mortgage without an appraisal?! That's pretty absurd... I didn't think that was possible.

And as for Florida... yeah, that state has always been scam-o-rama. I heard there was a huge "rent-to-own" housing scandal that broke a couple of years ago, which was based in Florida.

Didn't a knocked down powerline near Cleveland shut down Detroit, NYC, Toronto, and most of Pennsylvania not even a few years ago?

Yes, and that was just a 250KVA tower. If it had been one of the Main 500KVA towers it would have done much more, tripping out everything downstream like dominoes.

All the more reason to get off the grid, I suppose. Between a diesel-powered micro generator (which can easily be fueled with vegetable oil) and a rooftop windmill, this should be more than enough to power and heat everything.
