Gonzo Goes To Baghdad!

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales is in Baghdad.
The Justice Department said that Gonzales arrived in Baghdad on Saturday for his third trip to Iraq to meet with department officials who have been there to help fashion the country's legal system.
Just what does the Department of Justice do in Baghdad? Here's the DOJ's 2006 press release outlining its role:
The Department of Justice's law enforcement components provide special investigative training and assistance to Iraqi law enforcement, including the following:
- The Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF) routinely investigates high-profile cases involving assassinations of government officials, prisoner-detainee abuses and civil rights violations, and other instances of violent crime in Baghdad and other regions of the country. So the Iraqi government seems to have learned about human rights from Saddam, why shouldn't they also want to learn about justice from Gonzales? At least their consistent about what kind of role models they choose.

I would think that the kangaroo court system currently in place in Iraqi was Gonzo's idea. He's probably just there to observe and learn from their interrogation techniques.

He's going to IRAQ for training. Upon his return he will reform the "Justice" system so that it operates just as it does over there.

So, Gonzo is now at a place where he can't possibly f*ck up anything more than it has been already, and there are hopes that he might one day forget to wear his body amour, thereby solving some of the DOJ's problems.
Gonzo is going shopping. He heard that you can get really cheap rugs in Baghdad. I think that it's to get him out of the country. We and the Constitution can only hope that he is fleeing the U.S. never to return.

If GONZALES has any sense left he would follow and resign himself and stay clear when the WE THE PEOPLE demand the IMPEACHMENT of illigitimate PreZ and Veep.
Maybe the sent Gonzo over there to get killed. They'll announce that he was tragically killed in a roadside bombing (blaming Iran for it as additional gravy). They'll get rid of a major embarrassment and maybe make him a sympathetic figure, as well. Then Congress will appoint Bush's chosen successor (after a long delay, of course) "out of respect" for the dear, departed Alberto.

It means the leader of Iraq will learn how to rig elections to remain in power. He'll be allowed to spy on Iraqi citizens on any pretense in the name of fighting terrorists, no matter what the law says. He'll be able to fire any government attorney who pursues cases on merit instead of politics, and his legal advisers will be instructed to lie to the Iraqi Parliament if it asks them questions that embarrass the leader. Under the new Iraqi legal system impeachment will be impossible, even for high crimes and misdemeanors.
Sort of the same as it was under Saddam Hussein, just a little less violent maybe.

Can they make him the Iraqi Attorney General and let him stay in Baghdad? The bush crime family members travel all over the world on US taxpayers dollars. Condilesbian spend more time overseas shopping for shoes than she does in Washington.
Maybe Rove resigned because the penalty for not resigning on queue is a trip to Baghdad. Maybe Rove's next assignment was to be improving Nouri al Maliki's image if he didn't leave now.
We can only hope that Gonzo will be captured and tortured too.
