Sean is Rudy's BFF these days. This video shows Rudy being introduced by Hannity August 9th at one of his *snicker* Freedom Concerts. Via NYDailynews:
It's no secret that Sean Hannity, the conservative Fox News commentator, has helped to raise Rudy Giuliani's profile - but now he's helped the former mayor raise money, too.
In a little noticed event this month, Hannity - co-host of Fox News' "Hannity & Colmes" and host of a popular WABC radio show - introduced the Republican front-runner at a closed-door, $250-per-head fund-raiser Aug. 9 in Cincinnati, campaign officials acknowledge.
In so doing, some believe that Hannity - while clearly a commentator paid to express his opinions - crossed the line from punditry into financial rainmaking for a presidential candidate whose bottom line is now better for it.
Hannity declined to comment, but his bosses at Fox News Channel and WABC, flagship station for his national radio show, defended their marquee star by arguing that he's not a journalist and shouldn't be judged as one.
"Sean is not a journalist - Sean is a conservative commentator," said Bill Shine, Fox's senior vice president of programming. "Sean doesn't hide, and never has hidden, his beliefs from anyone." Read more...

I checked out the "Freedom Concert" link a few weeks ago and it looks like a whopping $4 of each $65-$250 ticket goes to the charitable entity. Just another way to bleed the yahoos of their cash.

maybe we should check with newshounds on this but i remember an "o'reilly factor" letter from a grade school student who had a homework assignment to write about a favorite journalist. the student picked hannity and the teacher rejected his choice stating that hannity wasn't a journalist. bill was outraged and asked the child to send him the teacher's name so he could "set her straight".

McClellan and Snow both looked like they knew they were full of shit, and that made them vulnerable. Fleischer knew he was full of shit, but he never sweated about it. I would think there *have* to be examples of Fox calling a journalist that we could use to call bullshit -- not just Bill O'Reilly, who could plead that it was just his opinion, but something in his Fox bio or job title or something. I looked at Hannity's bio on Fox and it uses the word "host" and refers to his "commentary." No mention of him being a journalist, unless they cleaned it up.

I don't expect too much from Fox News, so it doesn't surprise me that they have no problem with Sean's involvement in a fund-raiser for a presidential candidate. However, his actions and employment with WABC, whose parent company is Disney is bothersome. Does anyone remember that Disney would not distribute Fahrenheit 911 because the company “did not want a film in the middle of the political process where we’re such a nonpartisan company and our guests, that participate in all of our attractions, do not look for us to take sides.”
I guess Disney has changed their minds.
