Neocon radio appears to be pretending that the Bush speech yesterday, never happened.

Be sure and check out that link about the roll of the clergy at a time of martial law. I saw it yesterday and it's frightening as hell.

Thanks for the link, Mark!

This is an especially good round up. And an especially frightening one.

Congratulations on getting that link, DCup. You deserved it. :)

according to the CNN website.
the headline says "mother nature really cruel
with midwest floods"

why doesn't it say god? anytime something good happens
it's a miracle and god gets credit. but now it's that bitch mother nature.
she can't be trusted.

these people are so dumb, it's amazing they can tie their own shoes.

If God flooded the Midwest, then it would mean there are a lot of gay people there. So they blame Mother Nature instead, who hates simply hates the works of man.

In further news, Maliki says we can bring our boy home now....

Iraqi PM: Troops can leave 'any time they want'

BAGHDAD (AP) — Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki shrugged off U.S. doubts of his government's military and political progress on Saturday, saying Iraqi forces are capable and American troops can leave "any time they want."

One of his top aides, meanwhile, accused the United States of embarrassing the Iraqi government by violating human rights and treating his country like an "experiment in a U.S. lab."

Al-Maliki sought to display confidence at a time when pressure is mounting in Congress for a speedy withdrawal of U.S. forces. On Thursday, the House passed a measure calling for the U.S. to withdraw its troops by spring, hours after the White House reported mixed progress by the Iraqi government toward meeting 18 benchmarks.

In response to Scott Ritter's piece, I must quote Ronald (Ol' Dementia) Reagan: "There you go again!"

I mean, c'mon! Who's gonna believe this clown? Every single MSM outlet just knew how ridiculous he was way back in '02 and '03 when he was running around spouting all that "There really aren't any WMDs in Iraq" crap, right?

I mean, if Cheney really is the danger to democracy that Ritter makes him out to be, he'd of done something like, oh, I don't know, chosen himself to be Vice President.

Oh, wait...

Ritter's piece is right on the money. Cheney is the principle 'evil-doer' in the world today.

Weaseldog's picture

draftedin68, I see your point.

Scott Ritter demonstrates a sense of honor and an unerring loyalty to a higher code of ethics. What Republican could respect such a man?

Everyone knows that you should lie about everything, all of the time. That is the lesson of the 'Noble Lie'. Never ever tell the truth.

Besides, truth is boring. It doesn't sell newspaper copy.

Ritter's piece on Cheney and Rove is dead on. So is Talbot's on singlism - although I disagree a bit about singles being the last demographic who are fair game to attack. I think on the national political stage, atheists and non-believers are freely insulted and the religious are pandered to, while in some individual communities that dynamic is reversed. That's a quibble, and Talbot's entitled to some comic hyperbole, it's just that the unquestioned assumption angle is the same, as when Lieberman told an audience that morality was impossible without a belief in God, or anytime a MSM reporter takes it for granted that non-believers are less moral or, for that matter, that liberals are godless, etc. Oh, and the God recall piece was funny!

Arguing that Duchamp is the most important visual artist of the 20th century is like arguing that Lance Armstrong is the most cyclist. It goes without saying at this point.

Matt Miller's picture

Er, since Lance won most of his titles in the 21st century, I could have come up with a better analogy, but the point was that a majority of art historians takes the argument for granted.
