Attorneys Call Anti-Terrorism Efforts a Total Failure
By bluegal Tuesday Sep 04, 2007 4:33pm...we asked 50 defense attorneys who’ve worked on federal terrorism cases since 9/11 their opinions of the legal war on terror. (We also asked 50 prosecutors, but U.S. Department of Justice spokesman Dean Boyd told assistant U.S. attorneys across the country not to participate. He declined to tell us his reason.)
Memo to Mr. Boyd, Esq.: This is the American Bar Association asking you. Remember? The ones who gave a unanimous "well-qualified" rating to Samuel Alito? We're not talking those commies at the National Lawyer's Guild, radical journalists at Mother Jones Magazine or some Nazi/KKK blackmailing leftwing blog, heh. What exactly are you afraid of? That attorneys supposedly working FOR you might express the same common sense opinions shown above?

Sometimes the truth bites. Mr Boyd. How the hell could this bs have made us safer? And safer from what? Maybe the gazillion people we are pissing off around the world with our, our way is the only way, attitude. Today our government is our own worst enemy and I surely don't feel safe from them.
I assume they'll just use this to say that legal proceedings for terrorism are a waste of time and they should just be allowed to shoot suspects on sight.
"..spokesman Dean Boyd told assistant U.S. attorneys across the country not to participate.."
or they will be fired!
Duh! The wire-tapping, etc. were never designed to make America safer. These fear-mongered laws were designed to make the Republican party elite permanently powerful. In a "safe" America, the US Constitution would not be on life support!
So they could call it "biased," of course.
.
boyd is a fascist, what more can you say?

Hillary or Rudy.
Take your pick. *sigh*
Michael Steele was playing the "repubs are better on terror" card on Cavuto today. Graphs are a Satanic plot to him

All the wingnuts are hoping, wishing, dreaming that American blood spills again in a terrorist attack. Fat asses like Cavuto think America is going to go crawling back to the creepy pedophile of Uncle Republican. WRONG.

L.A.....That is one of the most vile, disgusting, sick videos I have EVER viewed. In fact,
just looking at the "other" menu items on that site, I can say, without being challenged,
that it is a HATE, HATE, HATE Hillary site. Anyone who visits it w/any frequency whatsoever is sick and needs help badly.
What do you expect when most of this "War on Terrorism" is as flimisy as the "War on Drugs" and the "War on Poverty"? Republicans and neocons in particular need a **cause** they can unite the people behind and sell us all the myth that we're the good in the world fighting the evil. It's neocon philosophy 101.

Let's just convert to Islam & put Burkas on our Breeders, I mean women. Because that is the direction you who fail to see a threat here, against all ya'll hold dear, there is NO FREEDOM in IRAN, or in the eyes of HUMAS, HEZBELLA etc etc
Excuse my spelling last post
BillW @ 20:
Dont forget al-Kaiser and Hummus.
The result for the first question suggests that the cases brought in federal court have all had no real impact---no surprise since the vast majority have involved incompetents and fantasists.
The results for the second question, about the legilation, is very telling. How many anti-terror laws have been passed? How opressive have they been? How vital were they supposed to be? And yet the majority opinion here is that they are ineffective, which amounts to useless in my book. Incredible!
Although I wish this was a snapshot of all people familiar with our legal processes, it clearly states this is only the opinion of 50 defense attorneys. I'm assuming if the same question was asked to 50 prosecutors, a much different result would come about...
ck @ 24:
Um. That is the point of the post. They DID ask 50 prosecutors, who were told NOT to participate by their federal boss. Ahem.
Its peculiar that the same percentages that believe in the anti terror bureaucracy and the percentage that disagree is like the same percent of Americans that agree in general with the President and the percentage of those that disagree with President Bush.
The only purpose of the "war on terror" has been to facilitate the destruction of America and intiate the final conversion of the country to a totalitarian police state. No other reason.
Blue Gal @ 25:
Um. I thought the point of the post was in the colorful, eyecatching, top of the post graphs and the title that stated "Attorneys Call Anti-Terrorism Efforts a Total Failure" -
If that was the point of the post, explain the title. Missing one word - Defense.
As I end up defending myself usually when I call for accuracy, I should reiterate that I completely agree with most of the views trying to be presented here, I merely would like to see the most accurate and straightforward posts possible... isn't that a huge part of what crooks and liars rails on - The distortions presented by this administration and the right? I'm not saying this is a huge distortion, but it feels to me like fluff... Of course defense attorneys involved in federal terrorism cases are going to feel like what is shown in the graphs... The post, as you aptly pointed out, seems to me most important due to the denial of participation for prosecutors in the poll by Dean Boyd (although it should also be checked as to whether they are normally blocked from this type of participation or not)... Wouldn't the headline then read "DOJ Spokesman blocks participation"? or even catchier "DOJ Spokesman gives the ax to Prosecutors real thoughts!"
BillW @ 20:
All ya'all? lol What part of hicktown are you from?
BillW @ 20:
Moronic thoughtless bullshit, BillW. Why is it our business to straighten these people in sovereign countries out to our way of thinking? We can't feed, doctor, school or clothe our own. Or help others do the same.
You aren't their Dad, so it's not your business. You have NO IDEA of how Iran is. You don't know what ethnicity they are, or what language they speak. You certainly know nothing of their clothing-burka is a specific piece of clothing-not generally seen in Iran. You just want to oppress brown people.
Truly amazing, that this sort of arseholishness is still going strong, even though we've seen what sort of sorrow we wreak throughout the world, with these actions over the decades.
