Tucker Carlson Tries And Fails To Portray Dennis Kucinich As America Hater
Ohio Congressman and Democratic presidential candidate, Dennis Kucinich, appeared on Tucker today and easily held his ground against the ever-whiny host. Rep. Kucinich just returned from a fact finding visit to Syria and the no ratings loser with a bow tie repeatedly pelted him with loaded questions in an attempt to portray him as an America hater -- and fails miserably. Kucinich plowed right through Carlson's spin and spoke calmly and rationally about the political realities in the region and his experiences in Syria, including his visits to Iraqi refugee camps outside Damascus where hundreds of thousands of frightened Iraqis are hanging on by a thread.

As I watched this clip I couldn't help but admire Rep. Kucinich's courage. Do you think for one second that a clown like Tucker Carlson would have the stones to travel to Syria and walk through refugee camps the way Dennis did? Neither do I...

I watched this today. Dennis was eloquent. Tucker should not have his own program. He is so biased and pretends that he isn't.
Why does MSNBC continue to employ this guy? His faux libertarian/conservative views are much better suited on another network. Of course, it is ideal to hear opinions from both sides of the aisle, but there are more intelligent conservatives out there (Scarborough is an example, and he's already on the payroll).
Tucker has that superiority problem that so many conservatives suffer from. As soon as he realizes that he bleeds like everyone else he'll wipe that smug f*cking grin off his face. I hope Kucinich gains some serious steam over the coming months because he is the only one out there who makes any sense. Kudos to him for not letting Tucker derail him.
DK is coming off more and more as Presidential.......It would appear he's 3 steps in front of everybody else........I can't think of any other candidates who have done this off hand.
Tucker is another Right Wing child of privilege, whining and yammering with his self-satisfied bullshit. You are right, this pathetic loser would be afraid to venture outside the Beltway. All you have to know about his courage is that he admitted on air that he "went and found a friend" before he went back with the friend and accosted someone who had ostensibly hit on Tucker. Tough guy, huh? Brave, huh? What a pathetic joke! And I honestly wonder who hit on who.....
Kucinich really impressed me in this interview. If only he was taller....
Total pwnage!
Tuckers not relevant....Kusinich is..
One thing in Tucker's favor is that he is too stupid to interrupt Kucinich, as would Bill-O, to prevent him from making his points.
He got his ass kicked. He wanted DK to say bomb the hell out of them all and he wouldn't. Made Tucker look like a fool. Syria is EVIL, EVIL.....EVIL!!!
As I always say...Kill them all and let god sort them out. No, that was someone else.
Oh, man. Some of the Democratic candidates are so freakin' smart. Makes me feel great to kinda be a Democrat of the greenish hue.
All around I was impressed by DK -- I wish he had countered TC's last argument about "winning the cold war," but they were out of time and I think an actual history lesson about the relationship of the US and the USSR would have fried Tucker's feeble little mind.
Tucket is, of course, still a total loser. At least he's gotten rid of the bow tie.
"Peace through strength, you mean the idea that won the Cold War? I think it's worked pretty well."
Uh, no, Tucker, Kucinich wasn't talking about "peace through strength." He was talking about "strength through peace," though it doesn't surprise me that you can't see the difference.
At the very least, though, I do like that Tucker has Kucinich on for a somewhat-extended time for a civil discussion.
Strength through peace. Hmmmm. You know, I was just discussing on another thread, about the similarities and differences between the libertarian Paul and Kucinich the progressive (Yes, a favorite theme of mine.) I know everyone will think I'm nuts, but given the numbers of Democrats who like what Kucinich has to say, and the numbers of Republicans and libertarians who like what Paul has to say, I'm having fun day dreaming about a Kucinich/Paul '08 ticket.
Oh, come on, bear with me. :)
Neo-con men have tried to sell us: War Is Peace.
The Democrats haven't done much to counter the neo-confidence scam.
And the Republicans now just conjure Ronald Regan's Peace Through Strength.
Please! It's time for a new way!
Kucinich/Paul -- Strength Through Peace in '08 -- a libertarian-progressive ticket to restore America's greatness!
Ya Know....we should thank Tucker....for giving DK the exposure...cause I'm here to tell ya DK came across as very very intelligent and Presidential...I've said That I don't think he can win...I'm happy to say that I'm wrong...If he keeps this up...He CAN win......and ya know...he just might.
In my opinion Tucker has it backwards on the cold war. It was "won" with peace through strength. DK is proposing strength through peace. Very different.
He does't even know he's being attacked. He is single-handedly trying to SAVE THE WORLD. Why can't they all work this hard? Imagine him, in the executive office--The same office Bush has been turning into a dictatorship for the last 8 years. He could act as a benevolent dictator for the first 4 years, un-doing Bush.
I am interested in hearing from people who would rather see Obama or Clinton become president.
Go Dennis.
Keep up the right-wing propaganda, Tucker.
Go Kucinich!
Seriously, can someone get an interveiw with the executives at MSNBC? ANd ask them why they keep this bottom feeder Tucker on his own show?
Aren't his horrendous ratings dragging down Countdown and every other show on MSNBC? Not to mention ad revenue?
I honestly wonder if Tucker has ever been in a real fight. A real tore my jeans, bloodied my lip and hurt my knuckles fight.
I would bet my next 2 paychecks that the answer is no. I would then let my winnings ride betting that having never been in a real fight is major contributing factor to Tucker and all of the neo-con dumbasses being so gung-ho for war (being fought by others).
According to Carlson, the slogan Peace through Strength won the cold war. Apparently, Stay the Course isn't cutting it in GWOT. So, if only we could come up with that winning phrase victory would be ours.
tucker is such a simpleton
sees the world in black and white
no match for kucinich's intellect
http://youtube.com/watch?v=tMACzBomDK4
Tucker is a douche bag.
He couldn't wait to get his canned remarks in. He didn't listen to a word that Dennis said.
When Tucker said "Strength through peace, you mean the way we won the Cold War?" Dennis should have really said "What's wrong with you? Have you listened to a word I've said? And what do you know about the Cold War? The closest understanding of that era is Nancy Reagan going on D'fferent Strokes to Say No to drugs".
Douche bag, Tucker.
Tim in Japan @ 19:
He fought off a sexual predator when he was a kid when he brought back his friends. You owe me two paychecks.
Great pic of Tucker-he looks as toothless as his intellectually bankrupt arguments.
Watching this video clip makes me happy that I don't watch Tucker Carlson.
Isn't Tucker young enough that he could enlist? Then maybe we could find out what he is made of.
I can never get beyond Tucker's screeching every time he gets backed into a corner, which is fairly often. Therefore I don't watch his show. If more of our representatives would have been like Kucinich and done a little critical thinking, we probably wouldn't be in Iraq right now.
If you want to piss off Tucker e-mail him at MSNBC....it's easy to find him there.....and he does read them.......just watch the look on his face...hehehehe...but be polite folks...
Ron @ 26:
I think Bob Dole is young enough to enlist at this point. The military is so badly in need of personnel that it has lowered its fitness requirements and raised its age requirements to absurd levels. You wanna fight in Iraq? The Bushies will take criminals, neo-Nazis, senior citizens, autistic children, disabled people -- anyone. ('Cept gay people, of course.)
Strength through peace!
That smug wh**e, Tucker, was desperate to spew his propaganda. These pieces of s**t of reporters are NOT concerned with ANYTHING that remotely resembles journalism. They are interested in yellow tabloid style cheap nonsense that appeals to the brain dead high school rejects.
I think Kucinich did an amazing job at avoiding the bait questions and getting straight into the important parts.
By the way, when other candidates appear on MSNBC are they labeled as "Presidential Hopeful" or "Presidential Candidate"? Because it seems to me that MSNBC were trying to marginalize Kucinich by labeling him a "presidential hopeful".
I can't bear Tucker and his snotty prissiness.
He's a typical spoiled arrogant frat boy hand job.
Angelo @ 16:
hiller and obamas bothe corporation douchbags! go dennis fuck the shills for the corporate whores!
Karen @ 13:
Sorry...can't go with Paul.....this temporary insanity will pass Karen
...but it's nice to see your enjoying your self.......
Karen @ 13:
We share the same dream.
Ron Paul vs. Dennis Kucinich would be the best thing in the world for this country. But wait. A true conservative versus a true progressive would not be good for business. Think of all of the issues that would actually ;gasp; be discussed!!! I mean, think about what you are proposing Karen!!! An actual debate?
[puts gun in mouth]
We can dream all we want, but Barak"they can have a seat at the table"Obama is getting Oprah's endorsement.
end of story ; (
[pulls trigger]
Karen, you have a point but, Bob Dole has been in the military and could probably still whip Tucker's ass.
To paraphrase Jon Stewart , I can't believe what a dick Carlson is . And he's a crappy dancer , too .
Tucker wouldn't go to Syria or any other mid-east country! He's too busy being the tough guy in the "boys" washroom!
Tucker got punked. Tucker's whimpy, whiny performance is what one would expect from a little wussy boy who when made a pass at by a man in a public restroom screams like a little girl, runs away and comes back later with a friend to help him beat the guy up.
I am another one who thinks the ideal ticket would be Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul. They put the rest to shame. To be honest, I am so disgusted with the Democrats right now that if Kucinich doesn't win the primary I will write his name in. He is the only one who cares about this country, our bill of rights and our constitution. The rest seem to be cautious about taking back too much power from the president. I can almost see them salivating hoping they inherit all that power. The more I see of them the more I have a difficult seeing the difference between them and the Republicans.
Dennis Kuchinich is more presidential than anyone who has been elected president since Kennedy!
The last thing we need is a sharp looking, power hungry, owned by big business government. Start to pay attention to what they all aren't saying and aren't doing, then look real good at Dennis Kucinich. He is our man!
There was a documentary of How the Beatles and blue jeans won the cold war with Russia.
Another docu credited the internet in bringing down the wall by using webcam and film the mass protest of the wall. Russian may make a comeback, and I wouldn't count on defeat, if anything we are becoming more like what Russia used to be. I have no idea why Tucker would gloat that we won the cold war, when our country we have losy 9 of the bill of rights and the constitution is just a paper.
Such a shame that someone like Kucinich can not be elected as President in this country. His head is on straight while the warmongering populous is in dire need of an exorcism.
mudshark @ 33:
:) Oh, I know full well why progressives dislike Paul. I'm not a huge fan of him myself. And I know why libertarians dislike Kucinich. (You can click on the link where I said I was just discussing this in another thread for more detail.)
And while expecting the two to run together would indeed cross the border into the delusional, I don't consider it madness for their respective supporters to work together to put aside their differences, recognize how and why they overlap, and work together to end this blasted war, and heal and restore our country.
Angelo @ 34:
Heh, I was actually day dreaming about a Kucinich/Paul ticket. But yeah, Kucinich vs. Paul would be good for the country too. ;)
For all you Ron Paul people out there....I have some questions...Did Ron Paul vote for the Iraq war? And what took him so long to get vocal about it?...The rest is just pandering to people for more tax cuts.No No you can Keep him......he may not be like all the rest...but he is still one of them....guaranteed .
I notice in my neighborhood that the army recruiter office has several vacant office space for lease next to their spot. I think it would be a great spot for a Kucinich campaign office.
Why are so many Dems. jumping ship to go with Ron Paul? Kucinich offers a peace plan, without all the other GOP stuff Ron Paul supports, and NO ONE wants a Republican president, do they? (Yikes, or another possible GOP majority, in both Houses, to go along with that.)
And to Tucker: Will you acknowledge ("to be credible," his words) that while the USA has listed Syria as a state sponsor of terrorism, The USA also sends people there to be tortured? See Canadian Arar case, for one. See link...
http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/arar/
Angelo @ 16:
He knows he's being attacked. He's just ignoring him. Hillary, on the other hand, would have readily agreed with Tucker on everything he said, and then said something different in front of a different audience.
EJG @ 39:
You do realize that Kucinich hasn't got a hope in hell? As for Ron Paul, his domestic agenda is goddamn scary!!
Kucinich will certainly lose out on his bid for the Democratic nomination but in a close race among the "big three", in primary and caucus states, he can end up a power broker when the Democrat convention rolls around next summer. If he can muster 6-8 percent of the popular vote, nationwide, he will create a policy platform for progressives, something that has been lost among Democrats who have lost their way during the Bush presidency. Urge your friends and family to give him a boost at the polls, for the good of the country.
I wouldn't mind getting a hold of that bow tie for a few seconds.
"But, but , but" Tucker counters, "you have to acknowledge that Syrians are Muslim with rather dark skin and that is a very scary fact and should not be taken lightly, don't you think?"
Does the president have the power to declare peace without the congressional approval?
Tucker sucks today more than yesterday.
Congressman Kucinich handled himself very well despite the obvious that Tucker tried to derail the Congressman from his messages and to stay on topic. Tucker made himself look just like another bias much like Stenopolis tryied to do the same when he interviewed Congressman Kucinich.
I don't care what the media says or anyone for this matter. I like what I hear, I liked the Congressmans logic and sensibility. I liked how his voting history. And I like his courage to act as an independent thinking AMERICAN.
I will VOTE for Dennis Kucinich. He deserves it. He has been working for the people and for our Nation NON-STOP. Even when the Congress was not in session he was out there working for the well being of our nation. He has proven that he very well knows his priorities. When everyone else was going to fund raising to raise campaign contributions, he remained committed to working for his people and our nation. Congressman Kucinich very well deserves my VOTE.
For those people out there who think Ron Paul is so great, you do realize he is against any type of government regulation, don't you?
No social security, no health care, no dep of education, no unemployment, no testing of drugs or food...................
mudshark @ 43:
Well, first, let me make one thing clear, mudshark: I am not a Ron Paul supporter.
As to your questions, yes, Paul did vote against the Iraq war. And as far as I know, while he wasn't the most aggressive national crusader against it until his current presidential bid, he received very little attention from anyone when he did speak out about it.
I think Paul's issue stances are very misunderstood. Again, I disagree with so many of them. But his knowledge of the Constitution is impressive and more thorough than most representatives in Congress. His method of interpretation and, primarily, his understanding of federalism lead to his stances.
I have some fundamental disagreements with him about the role of the federal government, in principle and Constitutionally. Nevertheless, given the sheer number of people who oppose the war, and support either Kucinich or Paul, and who are always ignored by mainstream press and politicians, wouldn't it at least be interesting for them to work together? ;)
Wow. Kucinich is 10 feet tall. The man actually understands how to defuse explosive situations, rather than ignite wars.
Tucker ...... jeez.
Ron Paul can lose his temper, and I don't see that in Dennis. I see in Dennis of what I saw in Jimmy Carter. Will I see Dennis hog tied to do anything because of our corrupt congress?
Ruthless People @ 38:
Perfect summary of Tucker. Not only is he "whiney," but he's annoying.
Dennis may not win the Presidency, but this video makes an excellent case for appointing him Secretary of State.
hawkny @ 48:
And this would be his worst case scenario......not bad...not bad at all..
Tucker says he disapproves of many things but one thing he admires is Kucinich constant attempt to call attention to the "plight" of Christians in Lebanon and Syria are 2nd class citizens.
Huh?
I've read Kucinich talking to the President Assad about the plight of the war-torn Iraqi people and the matters relating to refugees from Iraq. And Kucinich's wife has been quoted as saying "This [Notre Dame de Saydanaya, where today fully veiled Muslim women worship together with Christians] is the one of the few places in the world that I have witnessed such profound coexistence, and harmony. In this time of religious strife it is important to bear witness to places which show the way of peace."
From where did this Christians in Syria as "2nd class citizen" B.S. come?
Dennis may not win the Presidency, but this video makes and excellent case for him to be considered for Secretary of State.
Karen @ 55:
Karen...I wasn't singling you out...just so you know
GonzoD @ 54:
Most people who think Paul is great do realize that. Because most people who think he's great are just like him. Staunch, old-school, orthodox Libertarians with a capital L.
Most progressives dislike him. For good reasons. That doesn't mean we can't work together, though, where we agree. Progressives and libertarians, that is -- of all stripes.
Dennis may not win the Presidency, but this video makes an excellent case for him as Secretary of State.
tucker is low rated..
but the last three nights tucker at 6pm beat glenn beck at 7pm in the 25-54 demographic.
so its a deathrace between him and beck to see who is in the ratings basement. funny, they are both neo-cons.. isnt that an odd coinicidence.. two of the biggest neo-cons on tv, and both are very low rated.. odd how that works..
Dennis for Secretary of State.
TuckCarlson = nepotism at its worst
. But look who's tree he fell off. I could have said that the apple don't fall far from the tree.
Karen @ 62:
Actually, I think a lot of people who post on this site hear Ron Paul say "Bring the troops home" and that's enough for them. I really don't think a lot of people know his domestic agenda, because he's never givien the time in these debates.
PS - His domestic agenda scares the hell out of me!
Thanks Tucker. Your stupidity amuses me.
GO DENNIS!
mudshark @ 61:
I know. ;)
phlounder @ 52:
And not as much as tomorrow.
Kucinich mentions that 1.5 million Iraqi refugees are outside of Damascus with nothing but the clothes on their back, and it simply eludes Tucker. What.The.Fuck.

Talk about 'cat got your tongue'.
ga nite folks....gotta work tomorrow...plus it's time for RealTime...
mudshark @ 14:
Ya know?........Tucker is a putz....yes we can all agree. But I have to say, watching that piece I saw that even though Tucker asked loaded questions and was just a stupid asswipe neocon, he allowed Dennis to have all the time he needed to make his case. He interrupted Kucinich no more than the Randi Roads or Ed Schults do.....probably less. Can you imagine this on O'reilly? He would be turning purple and sputtering drool all over the screen. In a way dipwad is a better interviewer than any other right wing stooge out there. For what thats worth.
Tucker rymes with "Fucker" and that is the nicest thought that pops into my head.
paranoia @ 57:
Kucinich hogtied? I don't see him as the kind of president who would cave in to congress -- the man's got true grit.
This entire clip was extremely annoying. The basic idea behind journalism - telling the story - seems to have gone right out the window.
Tucker didn't even bother pretending to get a set of objective facts out of Kucinich - and it's an important story! 1.5 million Iraqi refugees in Syria. I didn't know about this. Did you? That's more people than live in Maine or New Hampshire.
If these same 1.5 million refugees were in Saudi Arabia, would Tucker be so dismissive? I doubt it.
Dennis did great.
Yes , nepotism is the only way this chubby faced little mama's boy got a job. He's a terrible, awful and awkward commentator.
And when theee fuck did rightwingers start caring so much about foreign, non-hillbilly christians or anybody in the middle east, for that matter (besides the ones they want to kill)?
xoites defends Constitution @ 73:
With the Larry Craig news it also rhymes with c&#ks@%ker.
I would appreciate you retiring from broadcast television, Tucker.
Annoyed Canuck @ 75:
Canuck, I couldn't agree with you more! This is the same thing that pisses me off about journalism!
I always thought journalism was supposed to be about getting the truth out. i guess I ws wrong!
Annoyed Canuck @ 75:
Funny that the same thing pissed me off about this tool, Tucker. I think I'm going to get behind Kucinich, and not give a damn what anyone thinks about it. The heck with the rest of the dem candidates.
If every one of you voted for Kucinich and got 5 other people to vote for him, and told those five people to get more people to vote for him, then he would have a chance. By voting against the better candidate because you say he has no chance, you ensure he has no chance. GET OUT THERE and spread the word. Make yard signs, talk to neighbors, talk to family and friends and you can create a movement. Otherwise, you are the letting MSM and pundits choose the next president for you.
Annoyed Canuck @ 75:
Actually it has been in the news for over a year, possibly longer.
Iraq's Refugee Crisis Worsens
Spoiled, rude, thoughtless, this guy reminds me of some 80's teen movie reject rather than a serious journalist. He's rather hateful toward the "lunatic left wing" bloggers, as he likes to put it on his show, so it's always refreshing to see him get a bashing.
@xoites
I've been following the war coverage, and never heard concrete info about 1.5 million refugees outside of Damascus. Now while I certainly knew that there were refugees since the war began, I did not know that so many were concentrated outside of Damascus. Gee--it's interesting that it took so long to find this out. Am I not watching or reading enough news?
It's the same old Right-Wing Lap-Dog Tucker....can we expect anything less??? The defender of the right wing agenda....the defender of Bush Cheney. He should really be on Faux News....maybe that will be his next and perhaps final stop.
Tucker is your typical whinney little sniveling shit sack repuke.
I didn't even know that Tucker Carlson still was on the air. Apparently, I am not missing much.
NIN-MOFO @ 84:
It is not difficult to miss some things no matter how hard you try to pay attention. We live in an age where there is so much information and misinformation you can't possibly keep track of everything.
@xoites
Excellent response. Hopefully the damage done to the media can be repaired someday.
What kind of pictures does Tucker have of MSNBC execs to keep his job? His 25-54 ratings are test pattern-esque. Dennis cares more for America than anyone I can think of.
NIN-MOFO @ 88:
Democracy Now! usually has the real news way before anyone else.
Tucker is a boob.
Dennis was calm, smart and capable.
Peace through Strength ended the cold war. Right. Guess that's why Putin has Russian bombers back on long-range routine patrol operations.
tucker is a dick,.
we all know it..
we need massive shut downs....strikes.....unity......
we will rise...and sooner than the cynics believe..
we will shut "them" down....
cmt
Great job by Dennis K.
Grew up in northern Ohio when he was mayor of Cleveland and have always been a fan.
Always have thought of Tucker as an incredible dick but he really outdid himself here.
xoites defends Constitution @ 82:
The refugee crisis may be "in the news", but it isn't being given nearly as much coverage as it deserves, and the implications of it are left unspoken and unexplored. And those implications are ominous and important.
Iraq isn't so much like Vietnam as it is like New Orleans.
Almost a quarter of the population of Iraq has left the country. This includes almost all the educated, professional people in Iraq - the entrepreneurs, academics, doctors, etc, who would form the backbone of a secular democracy, if such a thing can ever come to pass.
Bush still talks about "the Iraqi people", but more and more of them leave every day. People like Tucker don't want to talk about refugees for a very good reason: they are concrete proof of the total failure of US policy in Iraq. All he wants to do is bitch about the evil Syrian government. Fuck that, it's irrelevant.
What about the refugees? They've lost everything, thanks to the failure of the US to establish security in Iraq. When the US pulls out, and Iraq is partitioned, they'll be more fucked than ever.
What is the Democratic policy in regard to Iraqi refugees? Is there one? Because if there isn't, the Democrats are morons.
Kucinich should be congratulated for going to Syria. A real reporter (not a high-school debate-nerd like Tucker) would have got Kucinich's story, then asked him what he intended to do to help the refugees return to Iraq and rebuild their lives.
New day, same story. Another conservative posing as objective journalist who not interested in anything Kucinich has to say. Rather, he just waits for an opening to attack and ridicule, becomes patronizing and condescending; and tries to paint Kucinich with the tired and old labels through lame one-liners without any regard to content, context or thought.
Who is tucker carlson and why is he employed? That's the question. This guy doesn't even have a degree. Against DK, carlson looked like a stammering frat boy. Tucker, now here's a guy who has never worked a day in his life. And of course, he's all about being a libertarian, "We don't need no stinkin' government!" Well it's really easy to see the world that way when you've had it handed to you on a silver platter.
Who is tucker carlson? Aside from being a dick, he is, "He is a son of Richard Warner Carlson, a former banker, Los Angeles local news anchor, U.S. ambassador to the Seychelles, director of the U.S. Information Agency, and president of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. His mother is the former Patricia Caroline Swanson."
This is from Wiki. So if you wondered why he continues to get TV time, well his daddy and mommy have a lot to do with it.
95 Annoyed Canuck
I agree, which is why i have argued on more than one occasion here that instead of troops we need to be sending humanitarian aid into Iraq. We created a huge disaster area and all we have added to it is weapons. The Iraqis need water, food, housing, electricity, schools, jobs and an infrastructure. They had one and we destroyed it.
Is it just me or does that background make Tucker look like Max Headroom?.....
Tucker has a master, he is doing someone's bidding.
Peace sounds good......
xoites defends Constitution @ 98:
Yup. But its now so dangerous in Iraq that most humanitarian groups have left.
I have a close friend who has done public health work for NGOs for several years, mostly in the areas of nutrition, child care and pre- and post-natal care. The NGOs she has worked for left Iraq a couple of years ago.
Tucker Carlson was taking it easy over Labor Day weekend at a Greek restaurant near by brother's house, and he and his friends, for all his
right wing diatribes was ordering one after another Chardoneys. I don't have a problem with that == (personally I wish he offered to buy all of us a round =-shows how cheap they are) and how phoney with their Christian nonsense.
I just hate Tucker Carlson. I email MSNBC a few times a week by way of different email addresses and sometime I even send a letter. I know it probably makes no difference but at least it keeps me from throwing a chair though the TV. Did I tell you I hate the little dick?
Greg @ 23:
Greg,
Point of contention: When you bring your friends to the fight, it's not a "real fight." Don't feel bad, with my meager govt. salary, you aren't missing out on a lot of money.
Jerry Mathers @ 83:
Imagine that. The left abides by that loony thing called "reality". I'm sure realism is loony as seen from the ramparts of Wonderland.
The Tucker Carlson Variety Hour has become a must see in our house. We now have one special night where we have buddies over drink beer and giggle at Miss Tucker Thang.
She is that odd combination of arrogance and stupidity and in the process says some really funny shit.
A typical Miss Tucker Thang goes like this....I really like and respect Hillary Clinton, yet I find her to be a bitch, and a whore, and she just seem horrible on the inside....but I do like her, because I just try to like everybody.
His talent is that he has convinced himself he is talented....but that's all.
Jack jett
#81-NavySwan-
Excellent point. If enough people and alleged pundits say that Kucinich cannot be elected, then it ends up becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy. It is way past the point that the people in this country start voting their consciences rather than voting for someone they would, as Chris Matthews phrases it, have a beer with.
Also, it is apparent after watching the clip that that intellectual lightweight and morally deficient Tucker Carlson has absolutely no empathy regarding the almost 2 million Iraqis that have become refugees from their own country. Tucker Carlson=the poster boy for compassionate conservativism.
Great job Dennis.
Oh, Tucker, why don't you question Bush on his relationship with Suadi Arabia.
They are known sponsors of terrorism.
Bush is usually seen walking hand-in-hand with its leaders.
These shows want to make me vomit.
I understand why democrats need to be on them, but these shows are so lame.
I guess like the presidency.
very nice, Jack jett. Hard to argue with that.
sorry....but the truth about syria is somewhere in the middle of both bow tie boy and kucinich
yes, syria allowed the refugees in....but they havent been all that nice to them...read the stories about iraqui women turning to prostitution
and syria has promoted and exported terrorism, and im not really sure that they truly want all that much stability in the mid east
but tucker remains an asshat
I could only watch half of it before I got sick of listening to Tucker try over and over again to unsuccessfully back Denis into a corner.
The guy is an arsehole, nothing more need be said.
Kucinich is the man!
Reply to # 103: I agree. After seeing Tucker, whom I call a "twit" --- a little blond preppy twit., I said he is the type you just feel like slapping a couple of times to see how fast he'll run back to mommy or daddy. My brother (who lives in VA by the way, (I say no more - "twit" seems type to look my brother up for what I write)== mentioned how he heard a story that Tucker in Harvard with "pals" tortured an African American professor into having a nervous breakdown., I said I heard the same story....Twit. I mentioned "Air Amerca" loudly...but no notice by Tucker. I think he was soused by that time.
When I get "loaded" I throw money around because I want everyone to like me. No matter how much they are loathed, these right wingers will not part with a penny if they don't have to. Praise the Lord.

carlson is just a one trick pony that has memorized gop talking points and spews them like flash cards. he couldn't in-depth analyze a wet paper bag. kucinich, on the other hand, easily dominated that discussion by merely demonstrating that he's given actual thought to the topics.
hardly a fair match up of talents. whoever is paying carlson is getting ripped off.
I Am A Banana @ 22:
No, actually tucker is a f**ker. lol and a stupid one at that!!
Thing Fish @ 60:
It's *always* about the poor benighted Christians and how everyone is pickin' on them although they're the only ones who matter.
That F, er, Tucker certainly is the consummate twit.
Mugsy @ 65:
My thought exactly!! GMTA!
I really hate when he says something like he appreciates Dennis Kucinich is on the show. He'd sooner eat his own tongue than have Kucinich on the show. Oooh that liberal liberal media.....
That was actually an interesting interview because we could hear what DK wanted to say. Tucker put in his points in a snarky manner but DK didn't engage and Tucker didn't shout him down. Amazing. I hate to say it but I think it's because they don't perceive Dennis as someone they even have to argue with.
Yeah, peace thru strength won the Cold War....and guess what....there at least wasn't a hot war. Tucker is such a douchebag.
I was never in favor of Hillary. And I liked Obama for a while, but he started flipping as bad as Hillary. They say what they think the audience wants to hear. Edwards is better, he has a spine. But for the straight-up, OG, man with a plan, my vote goes to DK. He will not back down. I don't care if anyone thinks he has a chance or not, if he gets a strong enough show of support, maybe the rest of the democrats will get the hint.
I would never watch tucker carlson at all, I hate the guy, but its worth listening for a short time to hear Dennis Kucinich. He may never be President of the United States, but he should be given credit for his hard work and perspective.
Dennis Kucinich is not only a breath of fresh air, but he reminds us that the situation in the Middle East could be very different, were the United States to adopt a position of diplomacy, rather than aggression.
Dennis Kucinich has demonstrated, with his actions, that a doctrine of "Strength through Peace" can not only provide an alternative to war, but can bring much needed healing to America, and to the rest of the world.
Why does MSNBC keep fuckercarlson on the air? He is obviously a pretty boy of privilege, who attacks liberals as if he were a far right conservative. His attempts to denigrate Kucinich were amateur, and full of repuke 'talking points', which were deflected fairly well by Dennis.
The more I see on Kucinich, the more I like him. It is definitely time the WH had an honest, thoughtful person at the helm. Good on you, Dennis!
Tucker Carlson's is one of those rare people in the world who's own mother doesn't even like him.
I thought Dennis misspoke in a couple places.
He seemed to be talking about Iran when he meant Syria; he also seemed to mix Lebanon up with another country.
Then he got his "strength through peace" thing backwards.
Now you know why Fucker has his own program. He can prepare
opening questions like the one he dumped on Mr K. But the Christians...
His was a question that only a mother could love...
except if your his mother whose hate for her son, I hear,
has grown through the years.
Her opening question to her son...where did you come from?
Sounds like the Hallmark card from hell.
Having courage to stand up to a tv show host isn't the issue. Under that standard, George Bush would earn our kudos. The issue is WHAT KUCINICH IS SAYING. I actually agree more with Tucker than Dennis on this one. Syria's leaders have destabilized the Middle East, subjugated Lebanon, killed Lebanon's leaders, and fomented terrorism against the U.S. for years. For Kucinich to whitewash these Syrian policies for his own ego and poltical ambitions is plain wrong.
Damn, "Tucker" sure got the K-Bomb that time. All he could do was spout his good guys/bad guys bit while Big K rolled right over him with cool grace, style and real smarts.
I bet before Bush became Piznit he couldn't even find Damascus on a map (probably still can't). Oh well... look at the really brainy and bold guy who will never be president.
Ok. Well move over smart guy, let's elect Fred Thompson...
As much as I like Kucinich's ideas, I have to admit he had "Dukakis moment" here. When Tucker tried to paint Kucinich's trip in anti-American colors, Kucinich should have kept his cool, but deliver a tidy smack-down. Unfortunately, he let the pretext of Tucker's question stand.
This should be the new strategery fpr dealing with the winger pundits: "I'm sorry, I can't really hear you that well, Tucker". Then proceed to ZOOM BY the stupid questions, and say what you want. :-)
A great bit of work from Mr. Kucinich.
Tucker's jumping on the Kucinich train, mark my words. He'll be the first of many rightwing blowhardjobons abandoning Der Fathership ...Ah, I'm dreamin', never mind.
anon @ 132:
I'd say you misheard. Kucinich is making a point of reversing the neo-con 'Peace through Strength':
“Strength through Peace is vastly different from the dead end neo-conservative ‘Peace through Strength’ doctrine which attempts to legitimatize unilateralism, first strike and preemption. I want President Assad to know that our congress and our nation has people who believe in direct engagement.”
And have no idea what you're talking about in Kucinich mixing Iran with Syria. Or Lebanon with another country.
Haven't heard a politician talk this clearly since Carter.
If I was a Merican, Id vote for Kucinich. To me he's clearly the best candidate to move your country forward. It's odd that it seems so many people seem to agree with his policies and approach but for some odd reason he's not a front runner. I guess that's why you dopes ended up with someone like Bush.....twice.
Media Concepts @ 134:
Name a middle east country that hasn't. Saudi Arabia is the major offender yet GW has a love affair with them. They all pretty much hate our guts, with the possible exception of Kuwait. And Israel goes without saying. That is why what DK said has meaning. Diplomacy trumps war every time. If you think it is just ego, I'll accept that, as long as the ego helps our country. Look at how many of our best have made the ultimate sacrifice, and ponder how many more will, for the sake of GW's ego.
I especially enjoyed Tucker comparing the current war in Iraq with the Cold War. Tucker's catch-phrase was "Peace Through Strength." He is 100% correct there. You remember how we unilaterally bombed the Soviet Union, overthrew their leader, dismissed their army and told them to take their guns with them, left a complete power vacuum with a mockery of a democratic government, and sent so few troops to the USSR that a growing insurgency became an outright civil war. And that is exactly how the Soviet Bloc fell...according to the neocons.
Kucinich for prez
Tucker (rhymes with _ucker) is certainly young enough (38 years of age) to still sign up, head over to Iraq, and set an example for his Neocon, warmongering compatriots.
Interestingly - each of the Democratic nominees have something I like, and something I don't. DK is my preferred candidate(when others talk about something - DK answers with a bill that he wrote!) but America isn't ready... yet! Mix Hillary's feistiness, Obama's charisma, Edwards looks and populist message, Biden/Dodd's knowledge and foreign experience, and Richardson's diplomatic experience (I guess I left out Gravel) ... all mixed up with DK's toughness, well-thought out and uber-consistent plan - it would be a no-brainer! ;o)
As it is, each candidate is better than ANY Republic candidate. Special note here: if the Dems select Hillary - say hello to ANOTHER Republic president... I think Edwards is the only DEFINITE winner. (Unfortunately - America is not ready for a black President, and people do not realize how much Hillary is HATED by 50% of the country).
All that said.. up until Nov 2008 - I am doing everything... I mean EVERYTHING I can to get either Tancredo, Duncan, or my fave, Brownback elected. In Nov... I gladly flip to the Democratic candidate!
Everyone together now - GO BROWNBACK!!!! ;o)
Damn it I hope Dennis at least gets a VP nomination, if nothing else. (I do like Obama, however -- seems like he gets no respect around here, or what??) The ONLY thing Ron Paul should be considered for is Secretary of Defense, IMHO. (Or "Secretary of Peace," I guess, in a Kucinich administration.)
Kucinich already has more diplomatic experience than George Bush even after 6 years in the White House. Jesus, that's depressing. Bush had barely left Texas before 2000 -- and the MSM weren't calling him "inexperienced," "unpresidential" and "unelectable." So f*ck that sh*t.
Carlson's very first words (when he was trying to be "nice" before being a dick) are what pissed me off the most. All he cares about are the Christians? What an absolute Nazi pig.
To whoever said that Dennis "confused" Lebanon with another country: I do think he misspoke, and meant to say (about the Syrian military withdrawing from Lebanon) "that was mandatory for the autonomy of LEBANON and for LEBANON's sovereignty" -- but he was talking fast, you knew exactly what he meant, and it didn't strike me as a huge error.
Hey Tucker, Syria is NOT a swarn enemy of the United States! I'm sure Tucker has never seen an interview with Assad. He and his government has always been consistent about this. The Syrians welcome a friendship with the US. It is the neocon Bush Admin that has shunned the Syrians. The Syrians helped us after 9/11 with intelligence. The Syrians have taken in 1.5 million refugees from a war we started.
By the way, after seeing this clip, I've decided to vote for Kucinich, regardless of how his poll numbers look.
I still can't believe Tucker said, "I've been against this war from the beginning" when he was on I think Bill Maher. That is just the most boldface lie I've ever heard.
Media Concepts @ 134:
Where have the Syrians "fomented terrorism against the US?"
Yes, Syria has a lot to answer for in making things worse for Lebanon. (And Dennis agreed -- this is, as he said, "not a secret.") But what about Israel? Kucinich is trying to NEGOTIATE, to be diplomatic, to talk, to listen, and to make PEACE. If his job was simply to talk about how horrible all these countries are... yeah, that works real well; that's what we've got now with Bush et. al (except, of course, that it's extremely selective criticism, absurdly dishonest self-serving and hypocritical -- we're friends and arms dealers with Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia -- the countries where most of the suicide bombings originate. And we're labeling Syria and Iran as "State Sponsors of Terrorism"??? Excuse me? For what, supporting Hezbollah and Palestinian liberation? Gimme a break. And by the way, give us more detail on Syria's alleged "fomenting terrorism against the U.S. for years" -- I'd love to hear it.
As for Kucinich's ego: he didn't even mention that one of his trips to Lebanon was right after the massive terrorist bombings by Israel -- supported both tacitly and explicitly by the U.S. and paid for in large part by U.S. tax payers, incidentally. That trip took a lot of guts and shows a lot of compassion for the Lebanese people. (And, yes, he went to Israel also -- did he "whitewash" Israel's war crimes by trying to negotiate a cease fire rather than simply condemning them outright?)
Meanwhile, all Bush did was give Israel a green light and then send Condi to meet Siniora and say "we'd LIKE the fighting to stop, BUT... we're kind of busy vetoing Security Council resolutions calling for a cease fire and also rushing bunker busters to Israel right now, so... can it wait?"
Kucinich is EXACTLY the type of person we need to get this country in check. Another belligerent "America Is God" type and the whole world's f*cked.
/end rant.
