The Daily Show Returns to Tackle Sen. Craig Scandal
Rob Corddry makes his triumphant return to "The Daily Show" to report on the ever-evolving Senator Craig scandal.

Is Corddry back for good? I hadn't heard anything...
Never tap your toes in a Twin Cities toilet.
Republican values are as empty as a Scottish pay toilet.
Republicans should know better than to tap dance in the toilet.
The other Republicans will think they're black.
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone gave this story the true gravitas it deserves. NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was so funny...i was falling out of my chair. He is gay or bi in denial...So sad...
That's bloody brilliant... I actually enjoyed the R&B segment (it was a nice change of comedic formula) to the Corddry bit.
lefty @ 1:
It was good to see him back: I don't know if it's permanent or not. (I wouldn't mind Ed Helms coming back either.)
The R&B riff was gold. Classic stuff.
More R&B please.
genius.
Frank Zappa is smiling in his grave.
That R&B part reminded me of those 'Real Men Of Genius' beer commercials.
Corddry! Corddry! Corddry!...
Mensroom~ Mensroom~ Mensroom~~
Bwahahaha
Can you imagine being sexually repressed for that many years...OMG. Alas the "TEAROOM TRADE"...look it up.
P Dizzle @ 17:
I can, the girls keep saying no.
Can't you just see the pre-production meeting on this: "Should it be pants up or pants around the ankles?"
Cordry's sitcom bombed (and rightfully so... it was painful to watch). And now he comes crawling back to Jon. Oh well. Welcome back, Cordry.
I knew that Stewart would start his show off by talking about how he had to take a break the same time comedy gold was happening. It seems like he has the worst timing.
Hilarious closet Gay, Rethug skit. I laughed my ass off!
lefty @ 1:
Although the "The Winner" has been canceled, he's been busy filming some movies. When his latest is done, and if no other good offers come in, I think you can expect to see him do more TDS spots. That would be awesome.
Don't minimize this scandal--I love it. There is a very good reason that conservatives like Craig can't keep it in their pants.
I'm convinced that the GOP advisors take note as to when the Daily Show goes on break. It's like all the big news is released on Friday afternoon, that way it works itself out of the newscycle by Saturday afternoon.
If the Daily Show has become one of the top places to get real news (with a load of satire), then there's no doubt in my mind that the media advisors from both parties are aware of this.
Watch for when the Daily Show goes on break again (which will be around Thanksgiving) and see what "bombs" (I hope that's not literal) are dropped by this administration.
That was almost as good as Rob Cordrey's finest moment -- the Maccaca report, in which he claimed to be Maccacan. Jon Stewart falls for the bait and asks "Where is Maccaca?" Rob replies, "Right next to Ya Pee Pee!" and breaks up. These horrible times have produced some hysterical humor.
Great stuff! Complete infantile humor. Wouldn't have it any other way. Nice to see Rob again. I really hope Ed Helms makes another return appearance like he has done once so far.
NationalKato @ 14:
I was thinking the same thing!
Love the Corddry!
What I would love to see would be a sting operation trapping the Minneapolis cops in their sting op. Imagine an FBI guy busted like Craig, who then pulls a badge on the cop and reads him his rights.
VJB @ 29:
um.... no.
Rob is and always will be the man. Great segment
EXCELLENT!
Republican Party - Trapped in water Closet!
This stuff must be mother's milk to the writers at TDS and they do it justice. Hysterical!
VJB @ 29:
The FBI agent would be arrested for entrapment.
The accused tried and failed in using that defense during the Abscam scandal.
The only thing I don't like about John Stewart is that he is not on television enough.
It was great to have him and Sen. Craig back at the same time.
Jack Jett
I hope Crooks and Liars posts links to the Colbert clips on the matter.
Craig: "I am not, nor have I ever been, a homosexual."
Colbert: "Evidently, the Senator was arrested for being gay."
Addendum!
I agree with the praise of the R&B bit.
Stewart: "Craig said that he is not, nor has he ever been, a homosexual."
Singer: "That's not how gay works!"
Thank God the Daily Show is back! Somebody loaned me the first season of Rome and I never thought that I'd ever find time to watch it.. It served as filler for the past two weeks and aside from the cruelty of the family of characters it was pretty damned dull (and very well, heterosexual). It was nice to see Rob Corddry again, what the Herll happened to his career? A Tim Grieve quote from the War Room over at Salon:
One major problem with the "panic" theory: Craig was arrested in Minnesota on June 11. He didn't sign the legal document in which he pleaded guilty until Aug. 1, more than a month and a half later.
Is there really a database of "gay bathroom sex signals" somewhere that folk learn to solicit? Is it like morse code or Klingon or something? Will all the hip kids be using it to send secret messages with next year?
That's more like it TDS. Good stuff. Now resign Cordry and Colbert as free agents to give the kids some veteran leadership. Bring up some young heavy hitters from the minors and you should be ready for the playoffs.
The R & B Greek chorus in the background is pure genius. Long live Jon Stewart.
Classic Stewart....
John is having fun with (I'm not Gay) Republicans.
Wow! This story really is a big, fat, slow softball tossed underhand to the Daily Show and they hit it out of the park. The R Kelly parody was awesome! (almost as funny as the real thing)
