putting the vdareists to shame

good stuff...but......do you know anyone who has dealt wih officials in Mexico.........not good...

Confirmation on the job offers?

I believe what Steven is describing is exact what NAFTA was supposed to do: "create jobs in Mexico".

Oh, a little graft isn't going to bother us rich Americans. It's those guys getting $11/day and glad to get it that get boned.

If it hadn't become risky for farmers to hire workers, they wouldn't be down there renting land to grow lettuce.

I like Xander Crews idea on Frisky Dingo where we should build a walkover bridge from Mexico to Canada so the immigrants just bypass the U.S. completely. Pure genius!!! He also suggests making all teachers hot chicks so that kids stay in school and also give them all breast augmentation surgery...and the females students can have them as well. What great policy ideas that guy has!!

I used to work at a company that did some southsourcing instead to "outsourcing to India". It worked OK; a lot better than any outsourcing to India. Being in the same general timezones, and same day travel, really facilitated communication.

But then we got bought out by a major asshole who said that, I kid you not, I don't care if it is working, we're moving everything to India; that's our model.

Now they are sucking air.

We may joke about the immigration problem but it is extremely serious. Once again the Democrats have messed it up. The problem is we have been fighting over the wrong question (Should we give amnesty to those criminals?) rather than the right one (How badly do we need these people here and how much, say in higher prices and food shortages, are we willing to pay to get rid of them?). With the right question the problem can be handled rationally and solved. But that was not done. For details see

You know we are getting foodstuffs from Mexico. And did you know that that they use the pesticides that we BANNED here, because it was so poisonous to people?

If you think of Colbert as a tool sent out to, among other things, sell his viewers on the importation of cheap labor, it all makes sense. A grown-up discussion of the report he referred to at my name's link.

I think you need to get your irony-sensors reajusted.

Colbert is showing the people how ridiculous and backwards this whole immigration and NAFTA issue is.

Humor via contradiction

Surging Insurgents

Help America Vote Act

The ReThugs: still too stupid to recognize Colbert is actually mocking their asses. Just like they were so fooled, they invited him to the Journalism dinner where he proceeded to tear all of them a new asshole and probably could have punked Larry Craig with a "wide stance" of his own.

That study on the differences between liberals and conservatives - it missed one thing. Liberals have a more sophisticated sense of humor, conservatives are stuck at Larry Curley and Moe.

But be sure not to pay any attention or impose any penalties on the criminal businesses that encourage illegal immigration by hiring illegal immigrants. Pay not attention to the henchmen behind the curtain. Criminal immigrants, indeed!!!

Yes but fewer and fewer of us really understand that. And we still do nothing. Hillary is in the lead and she's Mrs. NAFTA. I guess I've been reading too much of "Nemesis".

Here's another example of someone being a tool for the same forces that support massive immigration and "free" trade:

You got some proof for that story? Hard to believe even for them.
