Are All Republicans As Out Of Touch As Boehner?

boehner2.JPG  Rhetorical question, I know.  Kombiz at DailyKos wonders where the Republicans so eager to call out Democrats for the MoveOn ad are after Boehner's bone-headed remarks about the "small price" he's willing to pay for "success" in Iraq.

John McCain has already called on Boehner to retract his remarks, but not apologize. Will Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson and Rudy Giuliani rebuke House Republican Leader John Boehner's hurtful remarks?

And while we're at it, let's put EVERY SINGLE member of Congress on the record. Will they condemn this disgraceful talking point that minimizes the sacrifice of those risking their lives in pursuit of a failed policy?

Hmmm. Freudian slip, perhaps? He said what the hawks actually think and want to scream from the mountaintops. Jackass.

What he meant was YOUR child's blood is a small price to pay.

What the hell is it with republicans and the crying! This is politics, there's no crying in politics!

Caption time!!!
1) If I rub this hard enough I know I can squeeze a tear
2) Are the cameras on me?
3) to Jeff (love me long time) Gannon: Please don't hurt me again, please, please hurt me again.

I think Republicans publicly retracting their BOEHN--ERs in public would be helpful.

Boehner is Bush’s new BFF.

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) “has quietly become President Bush’s indispensable confidant on Capitol Hill. He chats almost daily about the war in Iraq with Bush, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice or other top administration officials.” Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-MI) said that Boehner is useful for the administration to reach Congress because the “White House has no credibility with this issue.”

The catch is it has NOT been a small price, neither in human OR monetary terms. These motherfuckers make me ill. I can't watch them on TV anymore, I just wanna throw stuff at it, and I can't afford to replace it.

Crocodile tears.........

Repugs are doing a great job at destroying their party. Is there anyone with any common sense and/or morality still willing to admit they agree with numbskulls.

oh, also at the TP link I just posted.

UPDATE: Barry Jackson, who has taken over the “management of the four offices Rove supervised,” is the former chief of staff to Boehner.

That explains a lot.

I guess the White House was throwing John a BOEHN-ER!

perhaps hes run out of vagisil!

"And while we’re at it, let’s put EVERY SINGLE member of Congress on the record. Will they condemn this disgraceful talking point that minimizes the sacrifice of those risking their lives in pursuit of a failed policy?"

No, the Republics are too busy frothing at the mouth over that MoveOn ad calling a spade a spade about General Bushpuppet.

Stepping into the pork stew of life, gives us more grist for our philosophic mill. The Nazi numbskulls (Boener, Leiberman, Cheney, et al..), play their parts well. My only salient reaction was, "What the hell did minimally educated peckerheads see in these people that clearly isn't there?" We live with the pain of our choices. We stigmatize those around us, in refutation of the fact that these are choices we have made. Drug enhanced paranoia as well as religion, is a part of the diagnostic paradigm. I am always fascinated how isolated some people become after their teenage years. What happens is a process of faulty thinking being confirmed because critical thinking doesn't get presented to a information starved public. Rather we hold these ideas out to the little rodent of our psyches which runs the mobius wheel of our egos. One of the most common statements mentioned by neighbors after they pull the bullet riddled body of the sniper from the top of the water tower, "He was a good neighbor, though I never talked to him, he seemed to keep to himself. He kept his lawn mowed. He put a flag out on 4th of July. I guess he loved his mother." But there's plenty of culpability to go around. Remember, the only sin committed by the protagonist in Camus' "The Stranger," was indifference.

Howard Dean, DNC, and John Kerry castigated boner for his remarks. That is as good as it's gonna get, I fear.
The Dems never seem to learn that you have to fight fire with fire. They are wussies.

nah some perverts pulled his butt plug out and his innards are leaking republican juice!

He's a tool, and he is very useful. When is boyfriend comes (lol) to the surface, he will be retired.

Boehner is an absolute idiot who caters to the worst elements in our society.

He's another reason why I thinking the republican party will end up having only the nutters for its base and will then be marginalized out of existence.

"...this disgraceful talking point that minimizes the sacrifice of those risking their lives in pursuit of a failed policy?"

Don't forget those who have sacrificed their lives and limbs already.

Is there even a single Republican politician that deserves respect? The only one I have ever heard good things about was Chuck Hagel. Maybe it's telling that he's quitting.

While I would normally think this is a silly issue, given Boner's past remarks, piling on is the correct approach.

So in that spirit, "Senator Boner you should be ASHAMED and I demand you APOLOGIZE IMMEDIATELY! Your comments were DISGUSTING!"

ugh I just threw up a lil reading that.

Maybe Boehner is gay too (not that there's anything wrong with that). But real men don't cry over politics. What an idiot!!

Rhetorical questions, Nicole?

Forgot to add that John Kerry also went after MoveOn, when MoveOn was only telling it like it REALLY is. Betrayus is out to feather his own nest. His boss, Admiral Fallon, supposedly called him an "ass-licking little chickenshit", at their latest meeting. That sums it up very succintly, I would say.

Nope. No military service in that bio http://johnboehner.house.gov/bio.asp

Easy for a cowardly conservative chickenhawk to be cavalier about sacrifices made by fighting men and women in uniform.

There's nothing wrong with crying, but to see these evil lying assholes get all boo-hoo about themselves when they send people halfway around the world to die a meaningless death without the slightest concern is sickening. The most common trait to Republicans is borderline sociopathic behavior.

Making these people recant and repent just reinforces that fact that we find their behaviour reprehensible.

Just let 'em keep talkin'.

That way, we know who the enemy is.

Hell we need to go all the way back to the John Kerry Swiftboat scandal to realize the depths to which a republican will dishonor American Servicemen!

Every goddam one of 'em would be called out on the carpet if we were playing by the same rules.

that close-up pic of boehner on the right is hilarious!

Spicegal @ 26:

Gays aren't "real men"? "real men" don't cry?

What makes a "real man" anyway? From what I can tell it's usually just a beer gut, an SUV and a seat at NASCAR. I think I'll stick with being a pseudo man if that's the case.

You would think Mitt Romney would have been the first Repug candidate to condemn Boner's remarks, after all Romney has all five of his sons serving.

In a sense, Boehner is right. A big price would be if the children of Congressmen were drafted and sent to Iraq. Until that happens, the Boehners of this world are safe at home, hiding behind support for this criminal adminstration. None dare call it loyalty.

Does Boehner have a drinking problem?

Sure seems that way.

I looked it up last night myself. Per Wikipedia (I know, I know) Boehner enlisted during Vietnam but was discharged after 8 weeks of basic because of bad back.

“And while we’re at it, let’s put EVERY SINGLE member of Congress on the record. Will they condemn this disgraceful talking point that minimizes the sacrifice of those risking their lives in pursuit of a failed policy?”

That's not how it works. Apparently it is only MoveOn and the lefty bloggers who cross the line and they must be condemned.

As for Boner, I knew Iron-Eyes Cody, and you sir are not Iron-Eyes Cody.

Fish tacos.

These people, like Boehner and Bush and Rumsfeld, have hidden behind behind the desert tan uniforms of our military since the beginning. Instead of answering directly to congress or the people, Bush sends Patreaus out as his sacrificial lamb. Then, when the messengers get the heat from Moveon and the Democratic bandwagoners, these desk murderers (HT to C. Johnson) scream and cry "Treason!" and take out 6 figure ads trying to give the appearance that THEY are the ones supporting the military. I hope if and when the shit goes down, these cowards get the "treatment" from the very military that they have abused.

No. It means the Pretzelnit came in his eye.

Troops are just cannon fodder to the republicans. Just a means to an end. His statements were truthful, in his mind. Soldiers' lives are a small price to pay for wealth and power, according the actions of the republican party.
Besides, the "tobacco-kid", Boner, is such a putz.

Here's a bedtime story for Dennis

Once Upon a Time there was a politician who ran on an anti-communist, anti-unionist, anti-homosexuality, and anti-decadent arts campaign, and his favorite slogan was, "Mother, God and Child." Who was this fine upstanding candidate, a Republican politician of the 21st century?

No, it was Adolph Hitler running for Chancellor of Germany in 1933.

Boner's version of "LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE"?

Yep, small price to pay so his children and their children can live the good life.....

Boehner, this is the same creep... that leaked secrets to the media, he should be jailed for such a act of treason! every thing is on the table with these ASS HOLE republicans! all there rotten tricks... the same tricks that killed off all the indians, lied to the indians with every treaty!!!!!!! started all the wars, enticed all the illegal immigrants to enter usa for 30 years... now want to scape goat them, instead of enforcing our immigration laws . denying global warming even exists, now its called climate change, their cognitive, experimental psychology, think tanks, spinning the word! their game is just about up, people see through their lies! were is Kevin star? or the world court? but we're stuck with these passive, lying, democrats, ( republicats) with nothing on the table! thank the lying, elitist, nancy p, for her leadership??????? what a disappointment! what do you expect? in our free U.S.A. in japan they commit suicide if they're shamed but here it's all about the bluff n' lie routine! no honor and no soul!

He wears mascara and eyeliner, and bronzer. Yes, very straight attributes.
I don't care that's he's gay...the man is dangerous.

LEAVE John Boehner ALONE. HE'S A HUMAN BEING!

What the?

If Move On wonders if General Petraeus might betray the American people then Republicans have a right to set up a gallows and form a lynch mob. If a Republic calls our troops canon fodder the Democrats had better keep their mouths shut!

Moral of the story:

Democrats had better keep their mouths shut.

when the goings gets tough the tough go to Mistic Tans

The real reason he was crying is that EPA has discontinued his favorite brand of spray-on tan.

He looks and sounds like a country club drunk whose passenger seat you wouldn't want to get into.

I want my war.

This guy is waaaaaaaaay out there.

I sound like a broken record, but....

The GOP and Dems play by different rules. No one in the media is screaming for the Republicans to denounce what Boehner said. Hell, I've barely heard a whisper about it. Meanwhile all Dems are being raked over the coals for the moveon.org ad.

At some point, the Dems need to stop acting like pussies and grow a pair. Go after the GOP...and keep going after them.

Can you imagine if it were a Dem who uttered what Boehner did??? My God, Hannity, Rush, Savage, Coulter et al would be all over it—big time.

ABSOLUTELY unAmerican. Of course it's not a problem for him, he's drunk RepubliCON and he's all show but no go. Throw these bums out in 08.

I'd like to give him a REAL reason to cry...

Boehner is a phony as it gets and a loyal republican "Yes" man. He is out of touch with the real America.

Boehner is a sleazy, slimy lachrymose drunk who can turn vicious on a dime - as well as being a walking, talking worst of the 50s atavism. Can't stand the sight of the man, hate his voice, would like to poke his baggy bloodshot eyes out with my fingers. Did I mention that I don't like him? So dead and wounded American soldiers, dead and wounded Iraqis, orphaned and traumatized Iraqi children, are part of what he sees as a "small price." He is beyond despicable.

This past June, one of my former students came to see me right before our last crop of 8th graders graduated. Joe had graduated high school the week before. The very next week, he was headed for Marine Corps boot camp. Which means that in a very few months, he will probably be overseas.

Joe was a student who was "classified" when we had him, which meant he received special services. His problem was not physical or academic, however. He came from a home where his mother and older sister were addicted to drugs, and where another older sister was living with her infant child. Joe was the man of the house. That he got up and came to school every day, and worked hard and got good grades, was a tribute to Joe. From the first day I met him, I admired him, but I also worried because I knew that Joe's dream was to be a Marine. To prove his worth, and to get away.

Joe may die in Iraq or Afghanistan. He may be terribly wounded, or psychologically maimed. He may be ordered to do terrible things. Any way you slice it, when he comes home to us, he will not be the same.

Rep. Boehner does not know war. He only pimps one. His comments defame and undermine our troops more than anything MoveOn.org or any liberal has yet said about this war because he has truly and utterly devalued their lives.

Joe's life is no "small price." Rep. Boehner is a disgrace. And his crocodile tears will not protect him.

Tan-in-a-can-Boner! Isn't that one of the "ask your doctor" side effects of Viagra?

Seriously, this is the waste of human DNA that demanded a day off to go to the Ohio State Florida Fiesta Bowl for the National Championship. How'd that work out for ya Boner? Oh, I forgot. Never-FREAKING-mind. I know, that day off was a small price to pay for your right to sit in some Mega-stadium's bordello-suite and hobnob with fat-cat Ohioan fools-and-their-money anxious to crap another pile into your campaign coffers. Worthless, mindless feckless fecal matter.

He graduated high school in 1968 and earned his degree in Business in 1977. I've made my own assumptions as to why someone would spend nine years as an undergrad in the late '60's - early '70's...

When I came home from Vietnam (1969) and returned to school to share classrooms with these 7th, 8th, and 9th year Seniors I feared that they would someday have control of something... my fears were justified.

Boner is a dead-souled reptile with blue eyes. I can not look at him without being reminded of an official nazi party closeup portrait of Adolph Eichman. Same dead-souled look staring out of clear eyes. He seriously gives me the creeps. Thank God that he's a cretin.
