Re: Erwin Chemerinsky

It looks like he's going to be offered the job after all and that heads are going to roll. Erwin Chemerinsky's reputation and stature are such that even conservative scholars are calling foul.

Alan Greenspan seem to have written in his new book, that the Iraq war and occupation was all about oil - and everyone knew it from the start.

This is not reported in the MSM nor in the blogospher... why?!

Anjoe, it's all over the MSM. Which MSM are you reading?

*cricket chirp.... as a tumbleweed tumble's on its weedy way*

and, as far as grreenspan is concerned, his book is another example of coward-early/cash-in-late.

greenspan joins the ranks of the retired generals, colin powell, and others that kept silent while they still had a voice and a pull within the govt. They didn't resign out of protest, "soldiered on" and helped push our suicidal wagon down the hill. only to come out after retirement, and say that they disagreed or were appalled at the policies and politics of the bush administration's quest for total and perpetual war.

obviously, what greenspan is saying about bush and the GOP--now--reflects the insane track the bushies have put the country on. and i hope it helps sway the hardcore conservative voter to wake the fuck up. BUT, greenspan deserves NO credit for writing this. in fact, richy-rich greenspan should donate 100% of the proceeds to helping the iraqis and the families of fallen soldiers.

those that carry neofascist policies forward though their cowardly acquiescence only to retire later--after the damage has been done--and then write a book have shown that not only are they willing to put their judgment, integrity, and morals aside--but then are willing to write a book to capitalize on the clusterfuck (economically, politically, socially and morally) they helped create deserve nothing but scorn and derision, in my opinion.

well, neither cnn.com or bbc.co.uk mentions it, nor this Middle Earth Journal linked to above. I see now it's already going around in other outlets, but to me that's the big story. Everyone knows Bush can't balance a budget if his life depended on it.

It sure seems to me that the vast preponderance of books being published about the Bush administration are overwhelmingly negative. Almost every former insider has very negative things to say about the man and his accomplices. Same can be said about the books published from a reasoned outside perspective.

It would be interesting to know if this is unusual and how it compares to books, manuscripts, and political opinions from other presidential terms. I mean, the volume of condemnation is noticeably large and loud. How unusual is this?

The University of Ca at Irvine does have its problems. Who can forget the stolen fertilized human eggs for improper implantation into strangers and then the doctor responsible skipping off to South America to avoid prosecution. Kinda expands the phrase "Who's your daddy?" to include "Who's your mommy?"

Re: Erwin Chemerinsky

More fear mongering by the Nazis in the GOP and White House counsel's office. Prosecute them for war crimes, then we might have America. Americans are going after intellectuals. Like the Nazis did. Bush is leaving in a few years, but the clamp down continues.

Freedom means being open to listening to new ideas, not pre-judging people because of what they "might" do. America needs to be led by real leaders, not the goons who are betraying this Constitution and attacking our freedoms.

Fascism: Certain destruction today in the name of possible differences. Utterly outrageous for Americans to
