Mike's Blog Round Up
skippy says the Luddites are in charge, but the nerds are angry and may get their revenge yet.
Simply Left Behind analyzes the Bush Global Initiative, which sounds much better than that other one.
Jurassicpork at Welcome To Pottersville wants to draft progressive bloggers. To run for office, that is. Oh, please don't put that idea in their heads. I beg you.
Friday cat blogging: Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying on the battle over a cartoon cat.
Arrests for Marijuana were higher (heh-heh) last year than arrests for all violent crimes combined. The drug war surge is working!
Jason Chervokas and Lance Mannion type about the 50th anniversary of On the Road. Um, it's a book. You do read books, don't you? Neither do I.
This has been yet another Blog Round Up hosted by noted conservative blogger Jon Swift. Send your tips to me at modestjonswift [at] gmail [dot] com. You won't have me to kick around much longer.
Mr Swift,
Many thanks for linking to my humble blog post about Bush's wondrous climate change initiative.
Now that the surge on drugs has succeeded, can we quit be quitters and stop surging, like we did in Iraq?
Gee banning a cartoon - sounds kind of like the republicans doesn't it.
Anything negative to bush and his servants, the monsters, the republicans want to ban.

Doh. Need more coffee...
On NBC’s My Name Is Earl, the title character is presently serving a jail sentence for a crime that his ex-wife Joy committed. In last night’s season opener he revealed that his prison ID number is 28301-016. “So what?” you might ask. Well, I think it may not be a coincidence that another famous inmate has the very same number.
You'll have to "pardon" Earl's writers. They are "scooting" along the edge.
Mark @ News Corpse @ 5:
Link requires a log in. But still the number was found on the googles when I was surfing internets' tubes.
Very funny. :)
May I note that Jon's blog roundup has been among the funniest ever among very good blog roundups. I have enjoyed everyone and laughed often at "modestjonswift." No offense to the other rounderuppers, but can't we keep him?
Ah, come on and just tell us who the other famous inmate is. I'm too lazy this morning to go hunting for it. Please :) Please with sugar on top.
If we declare a war on children's illnesses and disease, do you think bush would fund it? He likes funding wars and all.
Marge @ 3:
Well, here in the U.S. of A. the only Latino themed comic strip in the Houston Chronicle was just dropped. La Cucaracha, by the muy talentoso Lala Alcarez, is a funny and insightful comic and Lala needs your support:
La Cucaracha Comic Hushed In Houston.
A reader revolt got the L.A. Times to reverse their decision to drop the strip earlier this year. Let's make the same thing happen now in Houston.
Never mind my please with the sugar on it. I found the answer at Mark's site. Thank you Mark :)
Weaseldog @ 6:
Oops - bad link. try this one ( an an even more obvious hint):
My name is Scooter
you can go away now to practice your brand of stupid somewhere else
hopefully you were tongue lashed to the point of unconsciousness....but then...most of your ilk already are.
Sorry, didn't mean to make you work this early in the morning. My linking skills have not woken up yet. Here's the right link.

Thank you, Jon, for including my humble distractions in your roundup. Hugs and kisses!
#12, huh?
Katie Couric is on c-span being interviewed (it's a tape from earlier this week) She's talking about bloggers and such on the internet. She used the phrase, some guy wearing pajamas and typing his own opinion. Then she said, "and too politely too"
Since I'm not a guy and I mostly wear nightgowns, I guess she isn't talking about me. So how many of you males wear pjs when you type? ;)
That's a wonderful post and a very funny pic, Miss Cellania. I agree, until the shelters are all empty, no one should buy a dog or a cat. There are so many there who are begging for love and a home. My dog I have now is a shelter dog and the next one I have will be the same. I don't get a choice on my cats, they just show up at my back door and move in.
pissed off patricia @ 15:
I'm a guy and I don't own PJs.
For some reason, Weaseldog, that just doesn't surprise me very much. :)
If marijuana is legalized, what will they go after next? Wouldn't it be great to be able to go to a bar and order a joint with a beer chaser?
And to Ms. PO Patricia, I haven't worn or owned PJs for a very long time. What an incredibly useless garment! Sweats are much more comfortable and have the advantage of being acceptable at the corner store for those of us who care about, whatever. Now if marijuana becomes legalized...
pissed off patricia @ 15:
I sleep in the nude.
Here's my favorite cartoon cat:

That was a really cute version of Friday cat blogging, I mean, the cartoon. And speaking of cats, I do read books and am a fan of Kerouac and the Beats even though women did not have much of a role in the movement. I agree with the first bloke's assessment of Kerouac's work. His work is uneven because he was so prolific, but Road was years in the making, in reflection, before it was finally published, and it was not just hot off the typewriter. But Kerouac's reputation shouldn't rest with On the Road. Visions of Gerard, Dr. Sax, Maggie Cassidy, Tristessa, Lonesome Road, The Subterraneans . . .
I meant Lonesome Traveler.
I wonder where I stand in all this, because I watch Katie Couric while naked, smoking pot with my cat Mohamed. But I don't blog, that wouldn't be right.

Whattaminute, you or her?
Jon, thanks for linking to my post on the cartoon cat. The 23-year old cartoonist, Arifur Rahman, has been thrown in jail. No lawyer defended him because they were so scared. I just came back from a panel discussion on Bangladesh at the Heritage Foundation. The US deputy assistant secretary of state John Gastright was there speaking. He reiterated the Bush administration's strong support of the military government in Bangladesh. So I am sure the Islamists are happy with the Bush administration.
ysbaddaden @ 27:
Both.
patthemonkey @ 29:
So shouldn't your nom de'guerre be spankthemonkey?
What?! What did I say? You got a better idea of who to draft, Mr. Swift?
Thanks for the love, btw, you conservative codger, you.
from Arrests for Marijuana ----> some interesting stuff at these links. A real "education". And I hardly bookmarked anything. ;)
ysbaddaden @ 20:
I am often in underwear and sleeping t-shirts. Sometimes I have what I call "house" shorts; ones I don't wear on the street. My brain still works not matter what I'm wearing, even if that's nothing.
Marge @ 3:
Just for fun, I used to go to Google images and type in stuff like "Bush satan", or "Bush asshole", etc. Bush + any bad word (nazi, hitler, fascist, 666, idiot). Each would give me over 5,000,000 hits. Then sudden;y, one day, I got 263, or 104. Now it's back up to 100,000-hits-range. There was a major scrubbing!!!!!!! How's that for free speech?
School Security Goon Breaks 16 year old Girl's Wrist for.. dropping some cake.
16 YO girl had her wrist broken by 'steroided' security thug then arrested for battery (of the thug) and littering, another kid filming with camera got dropped to the floor by several thugs then his throat choked by their arms til he nearly passed out then arrested, his sister arrested, the mother of the first girl arrested after she complained to the principle in his office, also lost her job at another school.
All four people arrested and spent the night in jail.

Yahoo News is very lacking in stories from only a few years ago, they scrubbed hard too.
IMO its part of the ongoing process of establishing Chimpy's legacy for the future.
When only the favourable stories remain, Bush43's reign will be seen as a success.
Anybody in the future who remains alive to disagree with the legacy will be considered disturbed and mentally feeble by the futurists who have all the doctored facts at their finger tips.
good job all around, mr. swift, especially the times when you linked to skippy!
mucho thankos!
ps viking kittens rock!
but this is my fav cat blog: my cat hates you.
ferrofluid @ 36:
That thought is pure terroism. You've worried me sick. Know what I mean? I'm so glad I'll be dead by then.
