I just glanced through it and from what I gather... Malkin attacked Ezra by saying that he's too elitist (has friends in DC) to debate properly and that he would never succumb to giving her a fair chance. She then went off on some sort of tangent of how she was taking out of context, but I lost interest after that.
Michell Malkin is smart enough to recognize that Ezra Klein is a non entity attempting to use her as a ploy to establish national name recognition for himself. A debate is a recreational activity for entertainment purposes only. Anybody with debating skills can argue either side of any issue with equal dexterity. So what's the point?

I started reading the site. Are you sure it's not meant to be satire? How can anyone be that angry, misguided and ignorant and be still be serious? How do you even begin to debate people who are living on the ragged fringe of their own little reality? How do you begin talking about health care when in the land of malkavia the word alone has been designated as synonymous with a full blown socialist take over? That's it... she augmented that by saying Ezra selectively quoted a 2004 post about her getting private health insurance. I'm not that familiar with Ezra's original post on the matter, to see if she provided a counter-punch... personally, it didn't make much sense to me.
Malkin said that she and her husband were able to purchase a private high-deductible plan that was coupled with a MSA (Medical Savings Account). She had to pay higher because she was underweight... and then blamed liberals for that (paying higher... not her being underweight).

Yet, somehow, I’m the HYPOCRITE for acting responsibly by considering alternative health insurance plans before anyone in my family required catastrophic care. As I wrote in my post, I wasn’t too happy about the choices at the time, especially the most expensive plans, but instead of expecting Big Nanny and American taxpayers to be our insurer, we made the decision to shell out for an inexpensive, high-deductible plan. (Yes, such plans do exist.)

You know, a few on this website, and many on her website are very immature and rude. Part of the polarization of both sides of the aisle are that the extremists have the leading word which is proving to be a scary thing. Pretty soon, if all the right and left wingnuts have their way, America may find itself in a civil war. Problem is, the right would probably win because they have the military on their side. This is probably not going to happen, in the near future, but if we keep yelling and calling each other names we're all going to fight.

You miss the grander point. That's ok.
When I first started protesting I would get angry and provoke those that disagree. All it did was get my heart racing and the other feel all the more confident that their point is right. The cursing and name calling may make you feel better, but all it does is divide both sides of the issue further.
So I suggest the same to you. Get off your computer. But actually do something proactive to change what's happening. The few response that I've seen to my post seem to be giving up, and that all they can do is type angry posts. These posts are not going to change America or the status quo. What can you do to change what's happening with so much out there that drowns out any voice attempting to protest current affairs? Organize. Be positive. Persist. Work in a progressive way that will get results, not create a further divide.
I'll leave it at that, the strainer i wrote earlier evidentally has some noodles caught in it. Now did that get you mad, or did it make you suddenly agree with me.

Michelle STARTED this ruckus by stating on her blog that no liberal in "good faith" would debate her on the merits of S-CHIP. Mr. Klein proposed a debate, and she backed off like the coward she is. Mr. Klein was TAKING UP Michelle's challenge that SHE POSTED FIRST for the whole world to see on her blog.
But yet, Mr. Klein is the one looking for attention? Give me a break. If Michelle was the respectable voice you claim she is, she would have taken the challenge. But once again, she just proves herself to be a hypocrite.

Michelle is only interested in a debating forum that would attract nationwide interest. She wants a high profile showdown against somebody that would command a televised venue to promulgate her ideas and opinions to as big an audience as possible. Michelle is a serious career woman who conducts her political activities as a business. She is not interested in playing rhetorical footsie with some post adolescent boy named Ezra Klein.

Since my 14-year-old niece could thrash Malkin, she should be afraid and run away as she has.
