Gee, I wonder where Rep. Pete Stark ever got an idea like that?
You can email your support to Stark here.

I'm scare of the man that puts food on his family.
Should I watch this horror flick?
"He tried to kill my dad"
Bravo! To the point . . and sickening.
Email sent. Go Stark!!!
I demand an apology from everyone who has ever said anything on the floor of the Congress. In fact, let's not do *anything* until everybody has apologized for everything.
Honestly, how is this even classified as "news"?
no appology nessary
NO APPOLOGY
"LOOK", there's a photo of an Ass-Hole!!!
Bush is an disgusting, pitiful excuse for a human being for cares nothing about the troops or children.
I would call him an animal, but that would be insulting to all animals.

Bend over and cough numb nuts.
Nothing about this asshole in chief is amusing. Only an idiot would chuckle while saying the words, World War III.
CNN doesn't seem to have the poll asking if Stark should apologize on their web site any more. Anyone know the final tally?
L.A. Confidential @ 9:
Wow thats kewl.
Maybe he can levitate the Pentagon like the Yippies tried to do in the 60's...
BTW, tinyurl is a handy prog eh?
Do any here need any more proof that this man is a very sick individual?
To those who support him on both sides of the aisle I say....
You are scum equal to in every way with those 'Good Germans' of Hitler's heyday.
This should be playing on every political blog in America and Miss Nancy's computer also.
Yellow Elephant Safari @ 12:
We can assume the "Nays" have it by an embarrassing(for the pug uglies) margin.
fuhrer bush is nothing more than a SHITSTAIN IN THE BACK OF LUCIFER'S UNDERWEAR ......... THEREFORE HE IS .......... SHITSTAIN-IN-CHIEF
pinkobait @ 13:
Yes, levitate it right out into space and send it on it's way.
pinkobait @ 15:
I kind of figured that they didn't get the result they wanted. Just curious to know if they ever published a final result or if it just quietly disappeared from the site without comment.
Yea....gee, I wonder too....
Loved the juxaposing vids of idiot in chief... Apparently those WMD's weren't up his ass either...(check the vid again folks... This jerk writes late night comedy gold for every commedian on the planet... )
I just love the fact that the right likes to dish it out, but apparently can't handle a little truth in advertising...yea.. love it..
hypocites!!! I got yer friggin mission accomplished, my ASS!!!
And just for the record, should Petie apologize??? Not no, not hell no, not fuck no... HELL FUCKIN NO AND DON'T ASK AGAIN ASSHOLES!!! Cause the answer is going to be the same!! And I ain't alone... "Hitlers heyday"
When Hitler started to get famous people would point and say:"Hey, isn't that Hitler?"
*groan*
Excellent video compilation! A job well done for the person responsible for it.
Yellow Elephant Safari @ 12:
Somewhere over 90% just wanna puke when they think of this miserable little shitheel being 'Our Leader'.
But hey! That's okay with me. 'Cause the vote is in and the ReThugs are NOT going to throw Mr. Decider under the damn bus.
Which means they are done.
On to the Dem primary fight.
Edwards/Dodd 2008!
It is the President of the United States who owes the American citizens an apology. GWB is a failure by any and all measures.
Yellow Elephant Safari @ 18:
Yes thats a distinct possibility knowing CNN.
Will someone please give this man a blow job already?
Call Nancy, 202-225-4965, what in the world is she chastizing Stark for? How about Mitch McChinless, he gave out an address allowing scumbags to go to a 12 year olds home? She should join Joe Liebermans party.
Not just NO, but HELL NO to any apology to the criminal, corrupt president andd his criminal corrupt administration and criminal, corupt gop.
He turned me into a newt...
I got better.
pinkobait @ 13:
That wasn't a magic act. It was an exorcism.

I wrote to Representative Stark and told him we supported him.

“For the President’s amusement….”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGp0hCxSg98
Remember last week the prez said we couldn't afford the Schip plan because it cost too much, 35 billion over five years? Today that same fu*king man asked for another 40 billion dollars to continue fighting this war. His amusement is very costly. To hell with the kids, fund the war.
I can actually taste my dislike for this president.
Yellow Elephant Safari @ 18:
Last time I was able to check the CNN poll, the figures were 92 percent voting NO as to
Stark apologizing; but CNN has "taken down" the poll becasue(I assume) they thought
that the way they posed the question(and totally inaccurate representation as to exactly
what Stark said), the results would be just the opposite. CNN sucks and is just another
BIG business/corp. slime ball slug who is anything but fair and balanced.
L.A. Confidential @ 33:
Unless ye see signs and wonders . . . ye shall be doomed to a life of DRUDGEry.
Can you imagine Clinton saying: "We're going to invade Haiti (chuckle, chuckle); we're going to bomb Kosovo (giggle); a few Americans, some bad guys, and a lot of innocents are going to die (hysterical laughter)."
Nope, Charles (40), I can't imagine a sane man saying that. See, that's the difference, sane people can't giggle as they talk about death and destruction.
ysbaddaden @ 36:
Classic comedy.
BTW Berlin(before the rise of Hitler)was one of the most Liberal cities in Europe.
Fascism slowly seeped into peoples lives in an insidious way, much as it is now.
pResident Asshat should go back to the only thing he's good at, milking male horses.
if only there were a way to ge tthis shown repeatedly on MSM. this is a brilliant clip. many of the images that have angered me for years and they get no notice. that needs to change.
Outstanding work!
Now if the Repubs want to press this issue farther, then hopefully there will be a Democrat with enough balls to shove this video in their faces and force the Repubs to defend Bush's unseemly behavior AT A TIME OF FREAKING WAR!
BRAVO!!! great work
palosi can go lick the inside rim of george bushes rectum, the most useless twitt that ever became the speaker of the house, by the way lady love how you drained the swamp, and that first one hundread hours was a real house burner, and fuck thoes who want an appoligy for the chimpy
A.Citizen @ 14:
I think that's a poor comparison, actually. See, Hitler was somewhat popular in Germany, was charismatic, relatively sharp albeit insane, and rather obviously evil.
Bush is hugely unpopular pretty much everywhere, whatever the polar opposite of charismatic is, apparently a drooling idiot, and probably too stupid to qualify as "evil" so much as "malicious."
So the analogy isn't about people jumping on board a big, black tank so much as clinging to a burning, driverless fratmobile stuffed with cash trying to keep it from driving off a cliff.
I detest the appeasers, but for entirely different reasons than the "Good Germans."
And if you're the president and saying the words "World War III" while smiling, you are a sick, sick person.

The Power within us all. Now you know why the "elites" have gone to such ludicrous lengths to enslave us into their system of gross materialism and consumption.

Excellent.
Someone send a copy to the Speaker of the House.

Yeah he'd rather "Schip" poor folks to Iraq TO KILL BROWN PEOPLE for the OILY OLIGARCHY.
In addition to sending notes to Pete Stark, please let Pelosi know that she is way out of line in trying to correct him.
She is out of her league with Mr. Stark. He feels the hurt and anger of Americans....she has turned out to be as helpful as a rubber crutch.

Email ..Pelosi and Reid
Eamon @ 2:
Don't you dare give him another chance.
I agree with most everything said above...comments about a third world war, WMDs, SCHIP...but the bottom line is this.
Isn't it clear that the President is psychotic...either due to his deeply intense "God Complex", his Oedipal issues, or simply too much coke and alcohol?
Once we accept that premise, it is far easier to understand what is going on. Now, can we stop it? Probably not...the fix is already in. If it weren't, this President would already be impeached.
Jack Jett @ 53:
Reid has turned out to be an insufferable arsehole as well.
Can you say Fascist C&^ks&^ker here ??
Sorry I try to keep the profanity down..
JA
Nicely done. I don't know about the others on this board, but bush's little 'heh, heh's" are enough to drive me crazy.
I tried to get through to Pete Stark's office several times since he spoke on SCHIP, only to find a full voicemail box. I therefore wrote an e-mail thanking him for his candor and for having the courage to say what over 80% in this country feel about our CIC. I hope he continues to deflect the reich-wing bleats for an apology.
The video that would be the 'icing on the cake' is the one where Bush does the fist pump and says "feels good" just as he's about to announce the invasion of Iraq in March 2003.
Of course, the one with him serving the plastic turkey to the troops in Iraq at 6:00 AM could be added as well.
Not to mention how much he likes to wear military style clothing and to surround himself with troops as props.
Stark should not apologize. He should offer up more of the same so these twits can really get their panties in a bunch.
Jack Jett @ 53:
Re. Pelosi: I e-mailed her and told her that my re-registration from "Democrat" to "declines to state" a few months ago was fully validated by her recent statements re. Pete Stark. I cannot support a party that does not support its members when the members are courageous and candid in their speeches.
i'm with the 87%.

Look up Robert Anton Wilson's Illuminatus Trilogy. The Yippies were out to bind a demon that was inside the Pentagon and send it out against their enemies. A pentagon is the center of a five-pointed star.
Regardless of your affiliation, why should he have to apologize? Are we no longer allowed to criticize sitting members of the government? Are we a dictatorship, after all?
Fanon @ 70:
It'd be a heck of a lot easier, wouldn't it?
Stark deserves the medal of freedom and Bush deserves the medal of dumb.

Well, at least it would be more honest. Then they could just haul him off to Guantanamo and be done with it.

“For the President’s amusement….”

When the POSCIT (Piece-of-Shit Commander-in-Thief) gives his trademark smirk and and deranged chuckle when he declares himself "the decider", I think it is clear that sending troops into harm's way, while knowing he was able to get himself out of harm's way when the situation was reversed, IS for his own amusement.
Rep. Stark has NOTHING to apologize for! I am convinced (and I say this with all seriousness) that the upper ranks of the GOP up to and including Commander Codpiece are gathering a collection of torture porn that would make a normal person's head explode. Just as the Meese Report (Attorney General's Commission on Pornography) was likely to be pretty much an excuse for good ol' Ed (and Ed's pals) to get his hands on (legally) some of the sickest, most depraved porn available (bet he took TONS of work home with him!), the degradations done to "enemy combatants" and others while Smirky McDipshit pretends to be fighting (while OTHERS do the dying) for TRUTH, JUSTICE, and the AMERICAN WAY *is* for his own fucking amusement!
If only there was a way to negotiate a peace whereby Shrub was turned over for a taste of his own medicine. Maybe then the protections of the Geneva Conventions wouldn't seem so quaint.
well, a compilation of all the republican professing to serve at the preznit's amusement would be nice, starting with Gonzalo...!
The term "Amusement" is THEIR term after all...

Stark ain't perfect but Man o' Man did he hit this one out of the park. That is what a congress person can do when they have guts. GREAT JOB STARK.

Naw, bush deserves the "Medal of Inbred, Knuckledragging Mouthbreathers who deserve to rot for an eternity in some place infinitely worse than hell".
I might find this Clown Chimp amusing were he not killing innocent people and running American into the ground.
I. Truly. Loathe. This. Bastard.
What about poll demanding that Bush and the rest of the crime family apologize to Valerie Plame and her family?
Bush is a coke-addled fool. Cheney runs the country and should be impeached. Too bad Nancy Pelosi has a crush on him.....
groucho @ 27:
For violating House rules. She's the SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE, and that means that she is responsible for the rules.
• For 225 years, it has been against the rules to make statements on the floor about the president, and about other members of Congress.
People want to blame Pelosi for doing her job.
Kudos to Stark for speaking truth to power. The beltwayists can go to Hell
Ex-Canuck @ 60:
This is FLOOR speeches, not just 'speeches.' You are not allowed to denigrate the president or another member on the floor of the Congress.
tyree @ 47:
Your slanders and vicious attacks on the Speaker simply show you to be a person of no character.
If Rep. Stark doesn't withdraw his words, he WILL be censured.
And that would not be a good outcome. He will withdraw his words, and hopefully he will not be censured.
The Speaker cannot play favorites or endorse such comments. It is one of her primary responsibilities of her job to maintain the House rules, and you can be sure she will.
Radicals don't care what they burn down. They swing the firebrands and call for revolution, but they can't even be troubled to vote, much less protest or organize. It's a coward's game, attacking the Speaker with slanders and vicious characterizations. Unlike Bush, she is NOT a criminal -- she is a person of honor.
Did Cheney apologize when he dropped the "F" bomb? All the hours and millions spent trying to smear Clinton you telling me no one said anything bad about him? This is truly a case of IOKIYAR.
The 1 million for the Woodstock museum, stupid as it may be, is nothing compared to a couple of trillion that bush has spent. Yet that was the focus of the repug debate last night. How do these people keep a straight face when they call democrats the tax and spend group. bush asked for 190 billion last month and has already asked for 40 more today after he had the nerve to say healthcare for children was too costly.
As I posted earlier bush has spent more than ALL past presidents combined and what do we have to show for it? We lost a major city in America. We have killed over a million brown people including women and children that NEVER harmed us. Bridges are collapsing. 40? million don't have access to healthcare. Bankruptcies are high. The middle class is shrinking. Oil companies are making record profits. And with all this we have an idiot in the WH that laughs while talking about WWIII or the WMD's he lied about to go to his vanity war and he has to go on tv to tell us he is still relevant. Does anyone have any good news?
I know Bush did flip off the camera before a debate or a speech that one time--- but photo shopping him with his dog at the white house heli-pad flipping off the camera--- sheer genious!!
Janet @ 95 "Did Cheney apologize when he dropped the "F" bomb?"
He reportedly made that comment in the Senate, where he is supposedly straddling the two branches of gov't. Rep. Stark, however, not being a Fourthbranch traitor, is bound to the rules of the House.
"All the hours and millions spent trying to smear Clinton you telling me no one said anything bad about him? This is truly a case of IOKIYAR."
Again, the attacks on Clinton were mainly in the Senate.
The suggestion that the Democratic Speakers should fail to do her job because Speakers Hastert and Gingrich crapped all over the rules is not appropriate.
Redhots always want to fight fire with fire. They want, desperately, for the Democrats to join the Rapepublicans, to make it 'one party,' as so many here say over and over.
Paul in LA ....person of honor? I don't think so. She had no right to take impeachment off the table. That was a huge mistake. She gave him a blank check to commit more crimes and now knowing there would be no consequences he has used it. She works for us, the people, and we want him stopped.
There are no "ethics" when good ol Harry is being bought by the telecom industry. Blanket amnesty for his donors. Is that ethical? bush says they didn't do anything wrong and a court has disagreed with that. Then why do they need amnesty? Nancy has not delivered what was promised. She prays for him. WTF? She is as delusional as he is. God told him to do all these things according to bush.
pResident bush doesn't deserve respect. Respect has to be earned. He hasn't earned it in any way. How many pics have you seen showing bush giving the finger? Is that presidential? Decorum should work both ways. Stark was speaking for 75% of the country. Thats what he was elected for. Its what they were all elected for, to represent us. Too bad only a few get it.
Janet @ 95 "...bush asked for 190 billion last month and has already asked for 40 more today after he had the nerve to say healthcare for children was too costly."
Yes, he does. However, the House leadership (Pelosi and Obey) have stated that there will be no more supplemental funding of this illegal war (genocide).
"Does anyone have any good news?"
There IS progress against this coup, Janet. Part of that is that we do now have an excellent Speaker who, UNLIKE THE LAST TWO BASTARDS, will uphold the honor of the House.
Plenty of people think she should be acting like a chimpanzee, instead.
Janet @ 98 "Paul in LA ....person of honor? I don't think so. She had no right to take impeachment off the table."
Yes, she did. She had the RESPONSIBILITY not to start an impeachment effort when it was CLEAR that the R party is complicit in a coup, and will not in any case vote honorably for conviction.
"She gave him a blank check to commit more crimes"
No, she did not. She simply counted the votes, and it was clear that no conviction could result from that political process. Chairman Conyers -- a person of honor without doubt -- agreed.
"There are no "ethics" when good ol Harry is being bought by the telecom industry."
You are speaking of the Senate. This confusion between the two Houses in order to slander the Dems en masse is typical.
"Blanket amnesty for his donors."
NO amnesty of any sort was offered by the House leadership or is present in the House bill.
"Nancy has not delivered what was promised. She prays for him. WTF?"
Apparently you have never met a Catholic. You didn't know they pray for their enemies? What planet do you live on?
"pResident bush doesn't deserve respect."
Again, and as usual, the job of the Speaker is to treat the opposition with a regard they often do not deserve. That's the job. She is NOT a redhot, who will climb into the gutter to make you happy. The schmuck in the Shitehouse is a criminal, but that doesn't change the Speaker's duty TO THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT itself.
"Respect has to be earned."
No, respect is REQUIRED by the rules.
So you're telling me that we should just be good, quiet and obedient? No I don't want dirty fighting. I'd rather not but as bush says, we are fighting a different war with enemies (the Repugs) that don't follow the rules.
BTW I know Harry Reid is a senator. Unfortunately he's mine.
Paul in LA @ 93:
Huh? Denigrate? Where and how was Stark denigrating Bush?
More compassionate conservatism on display today. You probably heard that heating cost are going to be very high this winter. Well today bush in his compassionate role of POTUS wants to cut the funding to help the poor pay for heating bills.
Isn't that great? Now the poor can freeze to death and they won't need healthcare. Too bad for you if your kids get sick. What a guy.
the 4th Reich is rising @ 104:
Since it is my comment that has apparently started a mild fire-storm regarding decorum in the House and Pelosi's role in that, I too would like to see what "Paul in LA" has to share about the comment by "the 4th Reich is rising".
In my mind there is nothing "denigrating" about Stark's comments re. bush, who fully appears to get amusement from most of his actions that turn out to actively or passively kill or injure people. Remember also, that shortly after it happened, bush chuckled and made jokes about cheney's drunken shooting of his hunting buddy.
In the land of hypocracy the GOP serve Americans with the skill of uneducated lackeys. Making demands for an apology from goes beyond all common sense and loyalty!
@Paul in LA
Please define "denigration" and "amusement".
The video clearly demonstrates Bush to be amused, doesn´t it?
This is in respose to Paul in LA's claim that "respect is REQUIRED by the rules" ; how many fellow Republicans showed Nixon the "required respect" you claim is mandatory , much less Democratic party members ?
And though Nixon was guilty , were his crime(s) anywhere near the multitude and level of Chimpy's and Dickhead Cheney's ?
this is a weak fahrenheit rip-off.
Janet @ 102:
On the floor of the House he SHALL be in compliance with the rules.
Paul in LA @ 111:
MCMetal @ 109:
So far as I know, the members of the House of Representatives in 1973 comported themselves within the rules.
Which is NOT, btw, true of the current Republican party in Congress, especially in the Senate, since voting en block is a violation of the oath of office.
the 4th Reich is rising @ 108:
ACCURACY of the personal attacks is not the issue. Members of the House of Representatives are NOT to make personal comments on the floor about ANY president or any member of Congress. It is not a truth test, it is a comportment rule, which if broken leads to censure based on the rules (not on the veracity of the disallowed utterance).
Paul in LA @ 111:
Paul in LA - still await your definition of "denigrating", and why Stark's words offend you so much.
Just an observation - in your comments re. this thread you sound a bit like a pedantic "hall monitor" in high school, telling unruly students to proceed to their classes more quietly.
I can't take this dude anymore. I can't find the word to describe him. Even the worst of the worst 4 letter words aren't good enough. Who actually still likes him, besides his immediate family? I'm actually at a lost of adjectives to describe him. And this damn term feels like an eternity. He makes me wish I didn't care about politics.. then I would be oblivious to his presence.
I believe that this is the rules clause involved:
http://www.rules.house.gov/archives/debate_conduct.htm
Regardless of the reality of the President's motives, members of the House are barred from impugning them, even 'correctly.'
I don't know the exact details of Stark's statements, but I am surprised that his comments weren't (TMK) "taken down" right then and there. But if his statement was made on the floor of the House, it is the Speaker's duty to apply the rules FAIRLY, which means without regard to the veracity of the statement, the rank or the party of the individual.
Ex-Canuck @ 115:
Starks's words do not offend me -- I applaud the content of his statement, but it is fundamentally wrong to attack Speaker Pelosi for condemning his words, since they are (TMK) in violation of House rules, and it is her job to protect the rules of the House.
As for the pedantic nature of such parliamentary rules, is that news? It is not news, it is the way of the Congress.
So do any of the wing nuts have an answer to where the money is coming from?
NO!
Retards, all of them.
"Regardless of the reality of the President’s motives, members of the House are barred from impugning them, even ‘correctly.’"
That should say, ON THE HOUSE FLOOR. These are rules of debate, they are not rules in public. A Congressman is free to attack and slander the President to their heart's content off the floor, and many do.
Had Rep. Stark said this in the hallway, the Speaker would (probably) not have involved herself (any reprimand would come from the Majority Leader or the Whip).
Pelosi's MAIN job is to protect the House floor debate, by reliance on the parliamentarian and the longstanding rules of the House. To denigrate HER in public for doing her job, or otherwise, is well within free speech rights, and many do so, even here, in what is generally a display of commenter dishonor and an ill-informed series of slanders from persons who confuse scapegoating for a knowledge of politics.
And this, from Cannon's Precedents (an official parliamentary source for the Congress):
(bolding mine)
See billoreilly.com to vote whether Pete should apologize.
Bill's all messed up over it.
How dare Stark speak for his district?
Rock him.
I believe that this is the rules clause involved:
Words Taken Down (Clause 4 of Rule XVII)
A Member should avoid impugning the motives of another Member, the Senate or the President, using offensive language, or uttering words that are otherwise deemed unparliamentary.
Should is the key word in the clause, it is not must or shall it is should. Legally this is a grey word subject to interpretation
These House rules are great and all, but really, in times like this it amounts to describing the water while we're all drowning.
Me @ 123:
That's correct. It's phrased that way intentionally, because representatives do from time to time transgress this line, and they are generally at that time required by the chair to take their words down (recanting them). If it said 'shall,' like it does in "The Speaker shall" enforce the rules of the House, then the amount of punishment might restrict free speech. The only real issue is that such violations of the rules of debate are stopped, and reversed as appropriate, in order to protect the comity of the House.
This is quite a telling issue. It is rather amazing to me, again and again, that the left shares the right's disdain for the comity of the House. The pov represented applauds Gingrich's for being ruthless and partisan, two characteristics the Speaker is specifically charged by the rules of the House to stringently avoid.
I e-mailed the honorable Mr. Stark, a man who is not afraid to amplify and illuminate the truth. I urge the other posters at this fine website to do the same.
I'm also going to contact Her Royal and Imperious Highness, Nancy "Off the Table" Pelosi. What a disappointment she has been.
I believe Rep. Stark should retract his statements. It's not for amusement that these blood thirsty thugs use our children for target practice, its money. This is the best way they know of stealing the largest possible amount of tax dollars in the shortest amount of time. Rep. Stark should know better than to accuse chimpy and darth of enjoying this war. They are working really hard at fucking you over and killing hundreds of thousands. It's hard work. They deserve medals of freedom for all the money they have liberated for their friends.
D.G. Bowman @ 126:
She will be convenient to blame for your problems.
Meanwhile, she has held more rollcall votes than the two previous Houses combined, and has accomplished far more than your rhetoric will allow you to recognize.
You go Pete! It's about time the American people heard some truth out of congress. This administration should have been impeached long ago!
IMPEACH!
BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW!
It still sickens me to watch him making fun of trying to find the weapons of mass destruction at the TV and Radio Corespondents dinner. If he knew there were none its a sick joke and if he didnt knwo there were no weapons then the press shouldnt have been laughing ...it showed a gross negligence and soldiers were dying while they were laughign at the President's self deprectaion ...(or defication?)
He is one stupid, evil fucker
It's not news it's CNN.
CNN should be leading the charge to get Congress off it's ass and impeach Bush.
I sent Rep. Stark an email conveying my sincere appreciation for finally VOICING the frustration I have lived with since George "Little Man" Bush took us into this quagmire. If only Pelosi, Reed and all the other Democrats that say they are against this war spoke out so truthfully. Maybe, just maybe things would change.
Dear Bush, Cheney, and the rest of the Bush administration:
We'll see you in hell real soon.
Signed,
Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot, Joseph Stalin, Benito Mussolini, Saddam Hussein,
Idi Amin, Vladimir Lenin, and Kaiser Wilhelm II.
And he caves. I don't get it. Why would you cave to people like the Republican Party, Limbaugh, and Malkin? I don't get it!
I just sent this to starks website comments:
YOU FUCKING WUSS! I was literally on this page ready to commend you and thank you for standing up and calling a lie a lie and making a stand for the 70% of Americans who are offended and aghast at the debacle they call the Iraq war and the utter disaster they have made of domestic and international policy. You and Chris DOdd were the heros of millions of people in teh last couple days. WELL FUCK THAT!! You APOLOGIZED! "I hope that with this apology, I will become as insignificant as I should be, and that we can return to the issues that do divide us, but that we can resolve in a better fashion,"???????????? Who the fuck slipped you cool aid? Or did they threaten your family? Becasue that is the only explanation for such an about face. Nice standing by your principles and morals and ethics! You deserve to be insignificant. SLink back to the ooze the rest of you spineless jellyfish democrats come from!!!!!!!
ed kriner @ 135:
He followed the rules of the House.
The people you name were not involved.
If the folks that make all the Bush sucks comments would visit any third world country and see what the world is all about then maybe they would view our country in a more positive way. Bush is not the problem it is the government as a whole. Dems and Reps are both to blame for the situation today. Get rid of them all and start over. Have term limits so we do not have these career pols and go to the fair tax to take away the vote buying power that we have let them have.
I'll say it again...

Well, you're already slipping to 2nd world country. Won't be long now and you won't have to leave the US to visit a 3rd world nation. Right now, today, you can get in your car and drive to New Orleans. Do it. Go there and you tell me you live in a first world nation. Hurricanes, wild fires, earth quakes, tornadoes, droughts and floods are not bush's fault. These are things that we as a nation endure every year and will have to endure until the end of time. The lack of response to disasters and the complete disregard for human life and the fabric of society is what make this man a monster. He and his friends would kill you and your family, easily they allow you to die, just to make a buck. Think of that, it's not an exaggeration, it's a fact.
The rules of comportment were certainly shattered when Richard M. Nixon did as the people wanted, and withdrew our valiant military (heroes one and all) from Vietnam.
Mr. Nixon had done the unforgivable, and in his faithfull execution had crimped the money pipeline of the military industrial complex.
A relatively minor infraction was used to impeach Mr. Nixon, who resigned so that the office of the president would not be disgraced.
Mr. Nixon's actions spoke volumes.
He will be remembered as a statesman whose execution of his official duties demonstrated that the office of president could act with exquisite grace.
We have seen our most secret files concerning both the building of thermonuclear weapons and the ICBM technology to use the weapons transfered to Red China, under William Clinton. Not a squeak from our "elected representatives"...the hogs fed well at the trough. The firemen put out many scorchers for "good old Bill", but the devil with the blue dress on somehow managed to bring impeachment proceedings, and the most remarkable revelation that Mr. Clinton was not quite certain exactly what sex was, and by moving a period here, a coma there, and he did not have sex with that woman. Miss Lewinski.
Evidently the blue dress was the recipient of his stain.
Mr. Clinton didn't resign for the good of the office of president, and we all had a good laugh over cigars and brandy. Sad.
Now comes the Kennybunkport Cowboy, hanging chads, and a court full of co-conspirators left Ms. Harris to pronounce our newborn king, and easily Mr. Gore accepted that though he'd won the election, it had been an accident, so he mumbled a few thank you all to the faithfull, and shuffled into relative obscurity...the beard looked good.
Election #2, oh those tricky voting machines, but they removed that troublesome paper trail, whilst dropping off some votes, anti-voting on others...such good fun! If you have not read the Collier Brothers book Vote Scam, you really should.
So why do we not react with muskets and hemp rope when our children are sent to die so that one of Saddam's doubles would hang (saddam has perfect teeth, not so the unfortunate double) Of course we'd been told that the Mission had been accomplished...but we lingered, fighting phantoms (forensics of IEDs yield pointers to dark waters indeed), insanity as presented, rational when reserve currency and oil borse are stirred into the mix.
We are the biggest kid on the block, and we're kicking a**, and not even bothering to take names.
Russia is showing signs of alarm. China's calm belies it's concerns.
The Imperial States of Americanadamexico, dressed in purple, holding a bloody sword demands tribute, and a little bowing and scraping while lesser powers learn to apply the occulum infam too, just for good measure.
And we worry about some overwrought politician not playing nice on the floor (I've seen some hilarious antics in the house...for that matter on the whole hill)...well, at least he's one who represents a saving of hemp rope, and frees a lamp post when the people riseup to reclaim our good name...if nobody nukes us first.
Bomb Iran? Oh please, give me a break. Last time I looked our boats large and small were easy meat for sunburn, and the launchers line the shoreline.
Israel would not survive an assault on the Persians, load Mujahadene and happy kamikazis into the equation and you have what we called a cluster f*ck back when I stood tall in my uniform, and was engaged in killing people to keep America safe by killing communists in a police action but we didn't get Tijuana Taxis with bubblegum machines on top. Mostly we just watched the skin peel off our constantly wet feet, and if it looked like Charlie we killed it. To be honest, now that I know the game (one can never grasp the entire game) We should have been shooting at LBJ.
Props to the fed up politicians.
Last night I heard Bill Clinton saying "How Dare You" to somebody who didn't buy into the completely laughable official version of 911.
Last poll I saw 78% of us didn't buy the idea that the laws of physics didn't apply on 911.
That Sir is "How Dares He".
Just a rant...personaly I could care less, at my age waking up pisses me off, but to quothe Dylan..."It's a hard rain gonna fall."
