Did Goulet ever forget his goulash when he was hungry in the rain?
Watching this part of George's show is something I feel it's my duty to stop and listen and watch. I'm so glad he does it.
Patricia,
I agree - I'm glued to George's show each Sunday morning, but my world goes silent once I hear "And now in memorium" and the music starts.
It's such a classy way of remembering those lost - all the more sad once the dozen(s) of US servicemen and women appear towards the end.
It shocks me why George's show isn't the highest rated of the bunch - but, like Keith Olbermann's show, over time and through word of mouth, the audience will grow and grow.
And The Fabulous Moolah has passed away.
One of those kids was only 19!!! Nineteen!!!
Bless that kid and his family.
This is phucked up!
In Memorium, The United States of America. 1776 - 2001.
let was a bit of a jerk...in my opinion. Many years ago I was in the gift room of Caesars Palace in Vegas and was taken with a stuffed leather sculpture of a frog. I picked it up and after a bit more browsing brought it to the cash register. I was told that another individual had seen in in my hands as I walked about the store and that he wanted to buy it.....so it was to go to him. Yup, it was Goulet and nope...he did not get the frog. What an asshat he was about the entire thing and what a bunch of suck up's the folks a CP's are.
"In Memoriam" is still the most awful, irritating, self-absorbed, maudlin thing on tv ever, and I think I know why: the music. Oh, and the editing and writing. It's a pompous, self-referential throwaway piece and an insult to every person featured and watching. Truth.

Brian Kilmeade said nobody died last week
Well, Paul Tibbets has joined the rest of his crew...
Right move or wrong move on that dropping the A-bomb.. I guess you Enola Gay boys knows the real truth of it all now.... R.I.P. gentlemen, it was a shitty deal you guys got stuck with even if it did save a million or so lives...Just like all the shitty deals of that war from Pearl Harbor and before on...You carried out your orders, did your duty... We in the land of the living are still trying to figure out what you guys now know in the afterlife... And frankly, I'll go to my grave blaming Hitler and Tojo for the fact that it all had to come down to that.....JD

Telecom...it is you with the problem.
There is nothing wrong with remembering people in a minimalist dignified way the way this show does.
Your dislike of this part of the show says alot more about you than this part of the show.
Its sad that such venom pours of so many people in America like you over the most innocuous of things. You are a sad little person indeed.
I loved him in "Red Ships of Spain"!!!!

Bitchen' aviator glasses!
All the people who were fresh young stars when I was a kid are dying. I feel so old because it was just yesterday we gathered in front of the tv at my grandmother's house on Sunday and watch Disney's Wonderful World of Color and then the Ed Sullivan Show which showcased the various casts of Broadway shows and other top singing acts. Goulet, Carol Lawrence, Richard Burton, Georgia Brown, Davy Jones, Julie Andrews, Larry Kert, Anthony Newley.....they were the up-and-coming whippersnappers back then.
everyweek I stop and look at the passing of the greats and the regular people off of this planet.
I am always struck by the names of our service members who have been lost....
It goes bye so fast and is hard to follow, a name, an age, a hometown....
God bless the families who will always suffer from this loss.
I would say this is the high point for the Main Stream Media who feed us nonsense all the rest of the week.
George S. is a class act and David Brinkley would be proud of him.
