I for one would LOVE to see Shuster and Maddow have a show. Shuster is one of the best reporters in newcasting, and Maddow is a truth-teller.
I've written to MSNBC several times to try to get this done. But now I can only watch MSNBC on podcast. (sigh)

For the most part, I like Dan Abrams. Yes, some of his stuff is a bit "tabloidly"; but when he does cover real issues, it's quite evident that his a well educated, well spoken, and common sense commentator.

I love David Shuster's savvy and smarts, but please, let's get a strong intelligent savvy woman for this position. There's a ton of guys out there giving their viewpoints and commentaries, I think it's time to counter the Faux bimbos and the Couric bootlickers with someone like Maddow who really knows her stuff and can handle herself with aplomb in every situation.

I love both Maddow and Shuster. The only strike against Shuster is that he sounds exactly like Kermit the Frog. Seriously. Once I noticed it, I couldn't NOT hear Kermit when he opened his mouth:)

Both Maddow and Schuster would be good choices. However, I think David does a much better job as a reporter than as a host. It would be great if he did segments for Maddow, Hardball, and Olbermann on a very regular basis.

Hah! I already sent an email to MSNBC when I heard about the possible eviction of Tucker. I said that they should give David Shuster his own show. Only thing is, he's the gatherer of a lot of information and excellent reporting on "Hardball" and "Countdown". He's been on Ed Schultz's show a lot lately also. Rachel Maddox would be great too. I'll send another email to MSNBC.

Sadly, I'm not confident that the suits at NBC could stand the pressure from their fellow country-clubbers if they actually brought something even remotely close to "balance" by adding a second progressive voice to the MSNBC lineup.

Maddow gets my vote. Stephanie is great on her talk show, but she's not much without her mooks. Ed Schultz is too thin-skinned, IMO.

Maddow looks like someone that is on the rise and someone that will be seriously famous by the 2010's. I see very few out there right now trying to break all the way through, she is one of them. She is someone FOX will try to destroy, doubt that it will work.

I am not saying there is a conspiracy, not saying the gov't or bush did or knew, I am saying that neither of us have ever seen a video of an event that was surrounded by surveillance cameras.
I am not claiming either of us have to be experts in controlled demolition or physics. Simply that neither of us have seen a video, that's it. If a car crashed into a mini mart, the surveillance tape would be on the news across the country that night. How many cameras does the pentagon have? America needs to take it's collective head out of the sand and have an honest, open, independent investigation into this matter.
This is not meant to insult anyone. Especially anyone who may have seen the footage of a plane hitting the pentagon. Anyone out there care to admit they have seen this footage? Why not?

I'm very disappointed in the lack of support Rosie received from people on the left. It seems they were just as outraged at the possibility of Rosie getting a show, as the rightwing whack jobs! One thing about the nuts on the right they stick together right or wrong.

I felt ,after reading comments on C&L yesterday that some were more fearful of pissing off the right, than they were about throwing (as Keith would say) Rosie under the bus. Keith can't do this alone, he needs all the help he can get. I don't agree with everything Rosie has said, I do agree with her stance on the war and this corrupt administration.
It really is time for anti-Bush pro-America people to stop worrying about pissing the folks who are destroying our country off. I hope Rosie will get another chance at having a show.. Real soon.

We don't worry about pissing off the RW, we just make fun of them.

Rosie seems to be a backstage issue and a National Enquirer target, in other words she has baggage for someone to fill a prime time slot.

Also Maddow is someone on the rise, she is great to listen to on the radio and she would be better than Rosie. She seems calm and collective when facing right wingers on TV.

My vote is for Dave Shuster. In fact, MSNBC should get rid ofthe old guard, people like Chris Matthews, who are so entrenched in beltway thinking, and put Shuster in his place.

I am tired of seeing Matthews wax so lovingly when he speaks of so-called "leaders" (like Bush and Guiliani) just because they deal with problems by always "talking tough."

If I didn't know better, I'd think Matthews would love to have Guiliani's baby. It's Shuster's time.

Randi Rhodes enjoys broadcasting skills that complete blow away Maddow and Miller combined. Randi's only liability is her disturbing personality quirks.

My problem with Rosie is that she does a piss poor job representing liberals. I want someone that is articulate and highly informed taking that position. Basically I want someone capable of destroying the right wing hacks out there on air on the fly..

Give Rachel Maddow the slot! She has a great mind and really can get the heart of the issues. I love her radio show....and to see her on tv each night, and listen to her point of view would actually inform people rather then spin the BS further.

David Shuster kicks ass!!! But I think that Rachel Maddow is just too perfect to pass up for that job. I'm also sure that she will bring some very interesting progressives to our attention much like KO does & that can only be a good thing.
