Dianne Feinstein and Chuck Schumer: Wonder Twins?

This has to be the funniest political analogy I've seen in a long time.

Blue Hampshire:

You could have used your powers to turn into a dinosaur, or another bear to fight him off -- or you, an ice cage! But instead you did a gopher moat...

Reject Gopher Moat Politics. The markup session for the "FISA" bill is Thursday, and it's important they know we are watching. Tell the Wonder Twins and all the others that with retroactive immunity in the FISA bill, this is just another gopher moat.

That's our LieberDem BushDogs, protecting the Constitution with gopher moats...

Like they said about Mongol showing up in town in Blazing Saddles, I gotta say 'nevermind that shit'... Just heard from the Dodd people, evidently this is breaking news, but the FISA bill passed without the bullshit telcom immunity!!! Goddamn, one little Victory as Geddy would sing.... It ain't over, but I do believe that at least on this one little issue... It's a start... SUCK ON THAT ONE DiFi..JD

And these types are why we'll never get our country back on track.

They can't wait for the Hillary years. "Cha-ching!" That's all they have to say about it. Cuz K-Street is already sucking after them.

Very nice. I'm starting to feel this way about Bush, the dems, military leaders . . . you know, let's just say that everyone in power right now is pissing me off.

BTW, where'd you get the clip? It's awesome.

As the Senate Judiciary Committee prepared to debate the renewal of FISA revisions made in August, President Bush and his Republican allies in Congress are endorsing a unique double-standard when it comes to immunity for telecommunications firms. Within the United States, they argue, service providers such as AT&T and Verizon must cooperate with U.S. government demands for access to Americans' electronic communications and should be immune from citizens' lawsuits. But in China and elsewhere, as Republican reaction to this week's Yahoo saga suggests, not so much.

For the details, see:
"FISA, Yahoo and the GOP Double-Standard on Telecom Immunity."

I don't see this as political satire, but I can definitly compare the stupidity of the super twits to those of the current congress. I think most of us can agree that the previous congress was the Legion of Doom, lol.

Angry One @ 6 "As the Senate Judiciary Committee prepared to debate the renewal of FISA revisions made in August,"

Not even the Senate bill does that.

Clever dig, though. Maybe you can sell it to Amy Goodman, what with the writers' strike.

okay, so the bear represents the republican's cfr/neocons, the wonder twins represent the democrat's cfr/neocons, the pledge represents an investigative journalists (becoming endangered nowadays), the grieving family represents the people.. and the monkey.. well that one is too easy - Bush.
:)

CoIntelPRo's picture

the video implies there was a sincere but stoopid effort. I disagree that any DLC, DSCC or DCCC operative in the house or senate is in any way well-meaning.

Schumer gets zero pressure/consequences for his outrageous betrayal. Why isn't this asshole facing censure, while Feinstein at least is ducking a stoning in the town square with RESULTS.

Well, we've got it HALF-right.

PeterL's picture

We are statring to call Diane Feinstein "Senator FIND-A-SPINE" because of her total supplication to Bush and the Republicans. Spread the moniker. It fits.

I'm not defending the gopher-moaters out there, but I do want to point out that the censors completely controlled Saturday morning cartoons when SuperFriends was being made, and the heroes were not *allowed* to be violent in any way. The heroes never *punched* anyone. The gopher-moat-like concepts were used because they had to get more and more creative to come up with ways of tying up or otherwise immobilizing the bad guys without actually being violent.
