On Wednesday's Countdown, Keith Olbermann talked with former Ambassador Joe Wilson about revelations from Scott McClellan's new book and it's effect on his wife, Valerie Plame, the victim in this case. Wilson hammers away at George Bush and Dick Cheney, calls Robert Novak a "gossip columnist" and assures Keith he and Valerie plan to review the new information with their lawyer and decide how to proceed with their civil suit after the holidays.
Wilson: "Well, I was amused by some of the Washington pundits today saying this was old news. I remind people treason is never old news. When you betray the national security of your country it deserves to be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, however high and mighty the officials involved in it might be."

It would be very interesting to see where the lawsuit is going. For the Americans who post here, do you guys think Plame has a chance in winning this? I mean, the way things are running these days, from the perspective of a non-American, I just don't see Cheney and Co. being held accountable for anything... But again, I would imagine you guys living there would have a better understanding of the legal and political climate.
Bush and Cheney and his band of crooks and liars will be skipping and whistling dixie.

The timing of the release of this, two days before our national turkey orgy, almost guarantees that by mid week next week, this will be off the radar screen. After all, we are just learning that in the case of that blonde Alabama girl who disappeared a couple of years ago, there has now been an arrest made. That pretty much assures the MSM to concentrate its efforts on that moldy piece of shit news.
Let's hope that KO continues to work the story.

I do not trust McClellan could this be a trap for the DEMS., I say go forward with GREAT CARE, it is comming up on election time.
Joe Wilson makes more sense, and is more rational, than anyone I have heard in the Bush administration or the MSM. And he nailed it when he said 'I remind people that treason is never old news'.
Congress pay attention! And Pelosi, wash your mouth out with soap and say 100 Hail Mary's for saying 'Impeachment is off the table', and retract that treasonous statement, immediately, and get to work on Impeachment...No Matter How Long It Takes.
Any Presidential candidate that can completely abide by the nations law, and protect our U.S. Constitution; AND speak the truth; and make to make sure that our national security is not at risk by protecting our Covert Agent; AND who has an impecable integrity and the love for humanity and our environment; AND proponent of the use of IMPEACHMENT deserve to be the PRESIDENT of United STATES. There is only ONE MAN who clearly and unequivically deserve this position than CONGRESSMAN DENNIS KUCINICH.
He is the perfect example of a great leader. A man who pushes IMPEACHMENT to a lawless President and Vice President.........WILL NOT commit an impeacheable offense.
I truly believe that Congressman Dennis Kucinich will not be a President that would commit such heinious crime against humanity that is deserving no less than IMPEACHMENT.

The McClellan story will be out of the national consciousness within a week. Monday will bring nothing but holiday shopping stories and a passing mention of Pakistan.
We're already seeing the spin, from Perino's 'the President would never ask someone to lie' (he just handed them a bucket full of bush-shit) and 'McClellan didn't actually implicate the President'.
And to add insult to injury, pointing out that Bush lied seems to be like saying 'Look, there's a purple dinosaur on the Capitol steps!' - nobody believes you, nobody gives a shit, and they're convinced you're a wacko. It's the end result of nearly two decades of conservative talk radio brainwashing.
When conservatives gush about 'treason,' they're treated as if they have a point worth discussing. When liberals even hint that a president who lied about the reasons for taking the country to war, they're scorned and discounted - even the media regales us with sly winks and 'can you believe these guys?' smiles.
At first glance, this might seem bit far out, but think about it. If you really want:
1. A new, clean approach to government in Washington,
2. Legal retribution for the depredations of the past seven years,
3. Retracting all the mistakes of the past seven years,
4. Impeachment of the bastards responsible for the past seven years,
How about Wilson/Wilson (in either order) as the '08 ticket??????????????
What's with the "Klieg Lights"?
The McClellan excerpts that talked about facing the "Klieg Lights"...and then a day later Bush and Laura are talking about Hillary being use to life under the "Klieg Lights".
Are they even using the term correctly?
Just seemed odd That I'd hear this term tossed out by two mouth breathers in consecutive days (and two mouth breathers from the same kennel!)
My theory: Bush read McClellan's excert and asked one of his aids "What's a klieg light?"...so when he was being interviewed later he threw out the term thinking it would make him look smart.

Kleig lights are the high-intensity spotlights used on movie sets, named after the inventors, the Kliegl brothers.
You would normally light a subject with three lights - key, fill, and background, so it's rather warm.
They are not standard issue for news crews.
It's a bit off-topic, but do you know what's truly wondrous about this administration?
Now matter how many tabs you swallow, how many hits you take, how many snorts you indulge in, how freaked-out you get, when you write the wildest, most outrageous, most ridiculous, most horrific exaggeration/parody/satire you can dream of about some weird, whacked-out administration-from-hell, in the very near future the Bush administration's reality exceeds the depths of your imagination.
Is there really a 'god', does he really 'talk' with Bush, and have we already been assigned to 'His' hell, here on Bush-earth?
Under the theory that 'anything' is possible, on this Thanksgiving day, I'm gonna take a chance, and pray:

It is likely that the White House Press Room has a set of lights on the ceiling, to provide proper lighting for the President or whomever is speaking.
But since the 'Kleig lights' are usually for a movie set, where fictional people and situations are depicted, I'd hardly want to use the term if I were trying to convince people I was sincere.

gotta agree with you blackjack...this is why I think newsprint media (NYT,WaPo, etc) are proceeding slowly with this....why would anyone release excerpts from a book 6 months before it is due for release, it's usually done a month or so to hype sales. Also the media is not going after this because it will require time and expense for investigation journalism and may not go anywhere or prove provable....25 years from now we may get the truth but I'll be long dead by then....well off to the local food kitchen and do my part to help feed the less fortunate
