<i>Cryin'</i> John Boehner: Republican Fund Raising "Sucks"

Via The Politico:

One of the best things that can be said of Rep. John A. Boehner’s leadership is that the head of House Republicans is no Newt Gingrich, no Tom DeLay.

The Ohio lawmaker has an affable, understated style and runs a team that has the long knives out only for Democrats, not for each other.

Polls show the public holds congressional Republicans in low esteem. Boehner’s effort to craft a new agenda for Republicans remains under wraps. And in the minority leader’s own words, their fundraising “sucks.” Read on...

Poor guy, it must really suck to know your party is headed for the poor house. There's no mystery surrounding this Republican conundrum, Blue Texan at FDL 'splains it pretty well. John, if this whole politics thing doesn't work out for you, there's always soap operas...

aren't one of the many symptoms of alcoholism uncontrollable emotional displays?

seek help cry baby boehner

I'm sorry, but the Politico, and the lack of insight provided at that rag, usually makes me want to toss my cookies.
Why does anyone, any site, lend any type of credence to such a shabby and shallow collection of tripe?

Is crybaby at it again? He must have onions in that handkerchief.

Although polls show Congress is less popular than boosh, when you break it down, the GOP is 10 pts lower than the Dems in public approval, and 10 pts higher in disapproval. They also have less undecided.

No, a crucifix, that burns the flesh of vampires.

Doesn't Boehner know there's no crying in politics?

A lot of arse-kissing, yes. But no cryin'.

Besides, he's messing up his eyeliner and washing away the sprayed on tan...

Dude, your fund raising sucks because for the past seven years your party has sucked. They have sucked away innocent lives in Iraq, they have sucked away the lives or our soldiers, they have sucked away the physical and mental health of many of our soldiers, they have sucked away more money than any of us can count and your president and his administration have sucked away rights from our constitution. Yeah, you guys really do suck and we won't forget that for a long long time.

Pelosi: Republicans `like' Iraq War

Who is over Pelosi to force her to apologize to the House for that remark? Is it Boehner, or does that default to someone else?

Anyone know Congressional protocol rules?

TOO BAD.

suck it up, girly man

" Asked to clarify her remarks, Pelosi backed off a bit.

"I shouldn't say they like the war," she said. "They support the war, the course of action that the president is on."

"And that was a revelation to me," she said, "because I thought the American people's voices were so—and still are—so strong in this regard."

I dunno.

Ron Paul has raised almost twelve million this quarter alone for his presidential campaign, with much more expected this month.

Not too bad for a 'fringe' candidate.

Just settle down and shut up before I give you something to really cry about.

I wouldn't be too smug. No matter how bad a mess the Republicans have made of the country, the fact remains that the corporations and the rich kids will always support them, and they'll be able to outspend Democrats at least 3:1 during elections. A 3 to 1 spending advantage can pay for a LOT of advertising, and a lot of swiftboating, and we all know that a little bit of swiftboating can errase a whole LOT of truth.

"Boehner has undertaken a study, consulting corporate image experts, to “re-brand” the party. But so far, no big ideas have emerged."

Yes, the Rebulicans have always had the corporate advertising executives on their side, and those guys are EXPERTS at selling crap to the public with a catchy slogan. They've already got the public addicted to food that'll kill them, entertainment that makes them stupid (including news), and spending habbits that'll bankrupt them. They're also addicted to politicians that'll ruin them, due to the same tactics.

These are the guys that put a STONE in a BOX, called it the PET ROCK, and sold millions of them.

Well, Ronald Reagan was the PET ROCK of politics. All they did was put a rock in a box of straw, and market the heck out of it.

This time they just went a LITTLE bit too far, and put a dog turd in a box, and marketed it as the 'successor' to the Pet Rock.

The Blue Texan link was interesting. So the Republicans want to re-brand. Might I suggest a new slogan: GOP Light, now with ten percent less a__holes. (Till they make parole anyway)

Love the photo of the crocodile teary eyed Boner Boy. He's certainly acting like a girly man. Be a man and quit blubbering for crying out loud!

Were you my dad in another life? I must have heard the comment a zillion times as I was growing up. Thing was, he had already given me something to cry about before he said it. :(

Dennis, I thought you were smarter than that. The House isn't exactly hierarchical, and if it were, Pelosi would be at the top.

What does she need to apologize for?

Sounds like that would be enough to piss a person off.

Old Billy @ 23:

Sorry, ... that would be enough off of which to piss a person?

What happen ? Boner run out of suntan lotion ? Pass the tissues.

I sense that Boner does a lot of sucking.
He needs to back off the eyeliner....he's starting to look like Liz Taylor in 'Cleopatra'.

GOP candidates are clearly ignoring polls on Iraq so why wouldn't they be mystified regarding their lack of campaign contributions. As with any 12-step program they must come to grips with some things such as the fact that it is their positions rather than their approach to campaign contributions that are the source of their problems.

Next step for them is acknowledging those they have hurt, confessing these things to another individual etc. etc.

Actually, I hope they continue to cling to their illusions. It will make 2008 all the easier.

POP, I was quoting my own dad too. I think lots of dads were like that. Maybe a lot still are.

All this means is that the corporate masters have found out which Democrats they can BUY.

Who said I was smart, O-Bill? Someone on here knew all the protocol rules before when Pete Stark had to apologize, and I thought it was Pelosi who nudged him to do it. So I was wondering who'd be the one to nudge Nancy now.
Aww, on second thought, no apology necessary. Everyone knows she doesn't think Republicans actually like war. I didn't think Pete Stark needed to apologize then either.

Are you joking?

Tell you what, I'll start giving a crap about Pelosi apologizing for that, AFTER every single armchair-warrior chickenhawk Republican apologizes to every person they called "unpatriotic" for dissenting, and for every use of the various catch-phrases like "defeatist," "cut-n-run," and all the rest of the Goering-esque rhetoric that they spewed.

"Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger. It works the same way in any country."

or the evil Captain Kirk with false eyelashes in that double kirks transporter mishap episode.

Really? I'd bet the fundraising isn't all that hard. Big Money (read corporations) are the Republican donors, not your everyday Joes. The Republicans have done them pretty well recently, what with all the union busting, deregulating, no-bid contracting, etc... I'm sure the party of Big Money isn't hurting that bad.

Then again, maybe they are. Maybe Big Money has decided to buy Democrats instead, now that they're "in power." Don't worry Republicans, the Democrats will screw the people according to Big Money's wishes, and they'll be voted out of office in a few years. It's the cycle of screwing the public for money. Your turn will come back around.

John Boehner's brain has been fried from the decades he's spent in tanning booths. Repubs need to stop using "socialized medicine" talking points and defending torture and mercantilism if they want to raise money

But is it right to mock him for shedding a tear?

I know they'd do that to us, but on the other hand their crowd is a bunch of homophobic mouth breathers.

I actually feel a little sorry for the guy. Some people really do believe that the "Grand" Old Party has the right ideas for the betterment of humanity.

But not very freaking many.

And they're deluded.

Well after 12 years in the majority, repugs have shown they suck at governing so it's only natural that their fundraising should follow suit and suck. Time for repugs to stop bitching and pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

Anyone notice both Boehner and Bond have these bloodshot eyes like they spent all day in the House and Senate cloak room swigging on southern comfort before they get in front of the cameras?

Let's not crow too loudly. The money now being steered the Democrats' way is what turned the GOP so damned corrupt in the first place. Without any new legislation to help keep 'em honest, what do we expect will be the result? Sudden miraculous stands for progressive ideals? Dream on.

He's not kidding anyone. He's a goddamned drunkard on one of his "sad" days.

Those photos were shot right after the waiter informed him that the bar was out of his favorite vodka.

As a 51 year old business executive with an MBA from UofC, I'd sooner shove a flaming roll of $50 bills up my own asshole than doante to the Republican Party.

That's "donate".

Whinny little bitch.
Cry baby cry, you little asshat.

He's an alcoholic, like bush. Reich wingers are all nuts anyway and crying like this does them no good. They love to have other people's children killed in their oil war in Iraq. Boner is disgusting.
