Olbermann's new Book: "Truth and Consequences" Rumsfeld Special Comment included
Olbermann's got a new book coming out called "Truth and Consequences" Let's see how far up the charts we can get this one...Grab a copy...
Cali Scribe says: Keith Olbermann Thanks Us!
Keith thanked C&L for helping drive up the sales of his book “Worst Person in the World” on Countdown---back on Sept, 1st 2005:
Olbermann: And wait, look, it‘s here! The book version of the “Worst Person in the World” hits stores next week. But guess what happened after the Rumsfeld special comment, the sales ranking of the “Worst Person in the World” on Amazon.com went from No. 19,000, to No. 18. Bill-o‘s new book ranks No. 728. Our thanks to our web boosters like “Crooks and Liars” for the love.

This achievement by Crooks & Liars is both extremely significant and well-deserved:
A small cluster of power bloggers — focused on politics, blogging and humor — were responsible for the top 100 blog posts for 2006, according to word-of-mouth measurement firm Nielsen BuzzMetrics. . . .Crooks and Liars' posts on Stephen Colbert's monologue at the White House, and Keith Olbermann commentary on Rumsfeld, were the number 2 and 3 posts, respectively.Beyond those two posts, posts from C&L also occupied the number 5 position (Olbermann's remarks on President Bush) and the 7 position (Al Gore's SNL would-be "presidential address"). That means that of the 10 most linked-to posts for all of 2006, 4 of them — 40% — came from one blog: C&L..read on
Here's the transcript:
Olbermann: We end the countdown where we began, our #1 story with a special comment on Mr. Rumsfeld’s remarkable speech to the American Legion yesterday. It demands the deep analysis - and the sober contemplation - of every American. For it did not merely serve to impugn the morality or intelligence - indeed, the loyalty - of the majority of Americans who
oppose the transient occupants of the highest offices in the land;Worse, still, it credits those same transient occupants - our employees - with a total omniscience; a total omniscience which neither common sense, nor this administration’s track record at home or abroad, suggests they deserve...full transcipt...

Can't wait to read it...Keith is the shit!
Just a Thank you for telling us about the Book..and a note to TIME magazine- Keith is WHO should have been Person of the Year
I'm not a big fan of book-boosting, but hey, if anybody deserves to have his words widely read, it's Keith Olbermann, so go to!
Kudos to Keith on the new book. Poor Jonah Goldberg will cry into his mother's shoulder pads when Keith's book sells way more copies than his book does
[You're still banned-Sitemonitor]
I am a book freak so count me in for Keith. Buy two and send one to BillO. Tell him it's his "Christmas" present and to send it to one of our troops in Iraq. BillO will love supporting the troops. ;)
Here's a better link...The other link took me to a random Amazon site.
Thanks POP I think we got the links above working--those links when followed help support C&L. --sitemonitor
At one time Keith was the only truth in televised media. We owe him a great deal.
Awesome! :)
Great work this year John.
I had heard Keith had given kudos to C&L. Congrats!
Gotta go buy my copy.
I fixed the book links...Software is funny sometimes...Going to watch some football now...
Grrrr.... why did publisher wait until AFTER xmas to release this? I've already got a big stack I need to read. Oh well, I'll add another to my Amazon "wish list".
I'm still on spending strike. I'm against obsessive and impulsive spending. Now all I have to do is tone down my obsessive and impulsive postings on the Web.
:-)
Wow, just saw it is #111 on Amazon Book best-seller list. Very nice, considering its recent release. I believe it can break the top 20 very soon. For sanity's sake, I hope this book sells better than Bill O'Reilly's book for children.
John Amato @ 11:
So who you pulling for John? Being a Cowboys fan, I'm all about the Pats losing. But if they win, good for them. I'm for records being broken. 8)
sam @ 14:
And for Hannity's sake too. :)
Definitly will get a copy as soon as I can!
sam @ 14:
It's us against them. Red versus Blue or whatever it's supposed to be. Cowboys versus the Commies.
Freaks versus the Straights
Same ol game it's always been only the stakes are higher now.
Keith.....ain't done shit! But talk his ass off....Ever heard of good cop bad cop???
He's a fucking plant!
[Deleted. No need to abuse everyone here-Sitemonitor]
If the Cons win in 08 a person can always just pull the I'm a Liberal Mugged by Reality and I've decided to join the "Winners" card to avoid extermination.
mercman @ 19:
Lock em up in the penalty box till he gets a grip.
:-)
I'm all about KO. Keith, Bill Moyers and the delightful clowns at comedy central are about it for the boob tube. The rest is trash. And the worst part classless trash.
mercman @ 19:
Thanks sitemoniter. :) for defending the rest of us.
thank you site monitor for taking care of us here....and also to C&L for always posting his Special Comments...( hmm, i hope some are in the book)
I love Keith, but i was really disappointed in the "Worst Person in the World" book. It was a repeat of all of his on-air comments, which to me is worthless as I often saw them in person. I wanted something original.
If this is another repeat of on-air comments then I'll pass. If it has original content, then I'll consider buying.
*yoink* Ordered my copy!
mercman @ 19:
Such elegant speech... hope you don't kiss your momma with that mouth. Now go back and be spoon fed FAUX NOISE rhetoric. That saccharine will probably suit you better.
Thank you Mr. Olberman for being the beacon that shines through the fog of Repug obfuscation.
KO is the best...
His new book is definitely next on the menu...
Yum, starved for some food for thought...
One hears more common sense and honesty in one--just one--
of Keith's commentaries than you get in a year on Fox News.
There are few journalists in our society today with his knowledge, passion
and courage.
It's got to be a bit embarrassing for Keith to have this book come out when everything he talks about failing in it has evaporated into a sea of Victory. Let's be honest, Bush made mince-meat of the Democrats this year. Maybe that's why it's #179 on Amazon three days after it came out.
I really like Keith, but sometimes I think he should try to be the bigger man, especially with Bill. He's always pleading with Bill, as if that thick-skulled, child of a man has the power to reflect on how bad of a person he is. Just laugh at the man's stupid face, and sheer idiocy, no need to stoop to his level.
me thinks I'm goin to the bookstore tomorrow................funny how topics like KO and Ron Paul bring out the really loco loons......
mercman @ 20:
ehem.....and I suppose you think Glenn Beck knows what he's talking about.................while he french kiss's Ron Paul.
I've already bought two copies of Keith's new book - while waiting for the Amazon copy, I gave in and bought a second copy on Wednesday, and gave the Amazon copy to my mother as a belated Christmas gift. The book begins with the "City of Louisiana" comment on Bush's response to Hurricane Katrina and then goes into the first 23 SC's - all but three made the book. Nicely done as always, Keith!
I plan to buy this book next week to make sure this guy reaches the top of the charts. He deserves all we can give and then some.
It has been a great year for nonfiction. I just finished Valerie Wilson's memoir (the parts that weren't redacted at least) and am already halfway through Krugman's outstanding Conscience of a Liberal.
Please don't buy up all the copies of Keith's new book before I can get one of my own!
I just ordered the book on Amazon. I'm giving it to myself for New Years.
Who needs "The Pleasure Chest" for gag gifts with authors like Keith!!
Kristol and his type, the apologists, the enablers, are beholden to the current ruling classes. This is true of BillO, Chris Wallace (his dad must be proud), Hannity, Malkin, Limbaugh, Savage, Coulter, ad nauseum.
Their futures are tied directly to the disastrous policies (and people) they defended and defend to this day. Their time is closing in on them. They're freaking out. Once Bush is out they're afraid they will be held up as puppets of a failed administration (as they should be).
If the class they have defended goes down, so does their income and cache. They really don't give a damn about anything else, and certainly not the people.
I must add, these "pundits" (BillO, Chris Wallace (his dad must be proud), Hannity, Malkin, Limbaugh, Savage, Coulter, ad nauseum) believe only in money. Not honesty, integrity or truth, but money.
The "conservative pundits" of this era are nothing more than Quislings. It may well be true also of some of the "liberal pundits". We'll see.
Olberman, Stewart, and Colbert (funny how that frenchie out thinks us) stand as liberal beacons: engaged, optimistic, caustic, progressive in attitude and intent, and brooking no authoritarianism. Rather, challenging it.
Please send something like this to the Times:
I can not believe that you would offer valuable column space to such an incredibly wrong-headed person. He has been so discredited in his predictions about the war in the middle east as well as his analysis of the electorate that you risk lowering your esteemed paper to the level of the Washington Times. I have read the voices of your op/ed section for years, and I have often disagreed with comments found there. That being said, I did believe that most of the voices were, at least, thoughtful. Kristol does not bring credible content to your mix. He brings divisive, partisan, narrow-mindedness that you can get from any number of Michael Savage-like characters. Please consider limiting his columns to the occasional contributor, or risk having readers like me go to your better columnist's own websites to avoid supporting your paper in any way.
Thank You,
p.s. no hits, no revenue
i took your advice and bought both this and "worst person" and the new book was at number 80 LETS GET IT TO NUMBER ONE! i am gonna buy a few more as gifts. :)
Olbermann is the most narcissistic person on the planet.
I bought the book, only partisan hacks will diss the book. Great work in compiling them ..
Olbermann will someday get that Peabody award that billo dissed by claiming he won two of them.
Will KO put out Volume II of WPITW?
Ames Tiedeman @ 44:
You have a web site dedicated to....you...and He's the most narcissistic person on the planet? Kettle...pot...black.
John H @ 40:
You talkin' bout my wife?
