Another LA Times opinion piece offers quite a different take on Newton's Ken Starr tripe
I wrote about a rather insipid piece by the LA TImes Jim Newton on Kenneth Starr a couple of days ago. It was a twilight zone moment in op-ed writing to say the least. I guess Ed Mirmak wasn't too thrilled either.
Ed saw substantially the same things I did, including the Bong Hits 4 Jesus case that Starr took. Take that. Mr. Newton....

correcting revisionist history
I don't think though that you can equate a lawyer with his client so this case is not the worst thing that he has done. The right to an attorney is a fundamental of American court system. I'm more interested in his connection to the GOP and how he is used as their operative.
correcting revisionist history!
The main thing is that many were blogging and writing about it ( thank you C&L)...I would guess that the LA times got a few letters.....and not the warm and fuzzy kind....
Yea, I posted to that thread the other day.. I said it then and I'll say it again albeit more briefly here... Ken Starr is a glorified ambulance chaser who has no business being affiliated with any college in any capacity... He's a two-bit shill who wasted millions of tax dollars over nothing!!....Cum stains and land deals from nearly 20 years in the past now and it didn't amount to shit! A total distracting fucking waste of time. And the people who hired him are even worse then he is. He's a disgrace to the legal profession.....JD
So if Charlie Manson comes across as warm and friendly in an interview, that makes him . .
A sick and twisted killer.

Great comment in the previous thread I wanted to reprint:

Seems like the same willful misjudgment of human nature that makes us say that my neighbor couldn’t be no serial killer cause he helped me shovel my driveway once and we had a beer together.
It sure would be nice if we stopped being fooled by high functioning psychopaths and judged them on their actions rather than their carefully crafted facade, which is after all why they are high functioning psychopaths and not inmate #1223388.
It raises the issue of how gullible we are in the face of these psychopaths, even when their actions are at odds with the facade and even when they “flip-flop” to match our expectations in an effort to manipulate.
Here’s hoping we wise up in 2008! (insert spit take and guffaw)
Farther down there is a back and forth between the hack and Mark G (sorry Mark - forgot how to spell your last name) that looked like it was the basis for the second article linked here. Almost...
Well, as they say, imitation is the sincerest form of...plagiarism.
myiq2xu @ 6:
Manson killed no one.
SCOT @ 9:
Yeah, Scott, neither did Bush. And no torture either. Nope. Not Manson. And not Bush. Nope. Pure as the driven snow. Oh, yeah, and Ken Starr is totally ethical and stuff.
myiq2xu @ 6:
A charismatic sick and twisted killer. Get it right.

Ken Starr can go to Hell. Cons always talk about "government spending" when he spent 8 or 9 figures on crap
Pepperdine is a zombie mill. They have the zombie recipe down to a science (or is it intelligent design). It is not just a theory that these wackos have all but destroyed free America, and yet the mill continues to churn out clean cut cultists at an alarming rate. These are the worst type of evangelicals. The ones you could almost believe have good intentions. The truth is these people want to legislate and control every aspect of your life. In Ken Starr's perfect perperdine world all must follow the Republican Rapture roadmap. No deviations. No exceptions.
