In stark contrast to Obama's speech in Iowa, declared Republican primary winner John McCain's victory speech in New Hampshire decidedly underwhelmed the pundits on MSNBC, including Keith Olbermann, Joe Scarborough, Gene Robinson, Howard Fineman and Katrina Vanden Heuvel.

That truly was an awful speech. And McCain needs to interject "my friends" a little less into his speeches. It pops out every third sentence and it sounds ridiculous.

I truly loved how the folks at MSNBC seemed to be falling off their chairs laughing at the speech.

Im really just shocked at Romney and the countries take on Massachusetts. I lived there thru King, Dukakis, Weld, Cellucci, Swift and Romney. 2/3 rds of that stack are Repubs. The state is fed by the defense industry just drive up 128 or check out the funding for all the colleges.. It is hardly liberal, maybe Newbury street is but fuck, Massachusetts is filled with a lot of conservatives.. Remember folks, this is all part of the grand master plan. Huckabee wins Iowa, McCain wins New Hampshire, Romney wins Michigan, Huckabee with South Carolina, Rudy wins Florida -- and Super Tuesday is massively indecisive. And the races for the nomination goes on and on and on -- all through May. Nobody gets a majority of delegates and everyone stays in. The Republicans are stuck with an open convention and have to come up with that candidate who will satisfy the already fractured coalition of economic and social conservatives, resulting a lackluster compromise (aka Fred Thompson) or massive defection/disinterest by one or the other side.
Of course, this could happen with the Dems too.

There's no doubt that McCain is BushCo's candidate-in-chief and it's absolutely inexplicable that he could win without a little "help." Wouldn't put it past them to give Hillary a little bump as well.

I know McCain is about as straight-laced as it gets, but I really think he might have inhaled a bit too much of the smoke surrounding him during the Vietnam era, or all those months in the POW Hotel have dulled his senses.

I hate to give out a good deal and be the cause of any mass migration, but aside from earning bigger money, I can't...for the life of me....understand why ANYONE would want to live in the US of A when you can live just south in what is left of Mexico for a fraction of the expense and a zillion times more the quality of life.
I moved down here three years ago...met a wonderful woman and took her as my wife...spent 9 months back up in the US, and just returned to Mexico for good. There is no comparison, in my book. The people are GREAT, the lifestyle is precious and wholesome, and aside from the lingering corruption and a bit more dust and plastic, the place is heaven on earth.
Glad you enjoy Asia. Americans too often think America is the only place on earth, and really confusingly consider it to be the best place on earth. Of course, 99% of them have never been anywhere else, so I guess I can see how that might happen.

I think that this is the Republican's candidate in 2008. A 71 year-old man with a wife who has had so much plastic surgery that she now looks like his granddaughter. Kind of creepy, if you ask me.
That age thing is really going to hurt in the general election. He's going to look old and tired compared to any of the Democrats who have a chance to be the nominee. The contrast is really going to spook younger voters. He's a POW camp survivor, a cancer survivor and he'll be lucky if the campaign itself doesn't kill him.
