Hey, Mike. Did you leave a comment at Morning Martini under the id "anonymous"? One was left there and the first person I thought of was you due to the content of the comment.

Okay, having asked my question I'm off to follow your links here in the roundup.

I gotta give Hillary points where points are due. She handled that well. Too bad she couldn't have told those two guys to stuff their shirts up their asses.

Bush spoke today: 'Crooks and Liars....well, that blog thingy...run by Amateo...er, Amatee...,ah, Amato...is not got much be saying...as to them Palestine situation...was the Muddle East...er, I supposed to be there...from a meeting...making peace from somebody...we'll see...and that's all...er, you'll see about that...unless...what?...ah, my time...it's up'.

I bet just off camera Luntz had armed men pointing guns at the so called "undecided" Republicans also. The threat of violence or even death is a good way to get people to vote for the candidate of your choosing. I would not be surprised if Luntz did indeed use this method. After all, Fox News is well known for using fear to keep their audience captive.

'Hillary, while you're at it, darn my drawers'.

You know as soon as--if Obama takes the lead Rove is going to start up with stuff like,

"Do Americans want crack dealers, gangster rappers, and the Nation of Islam running the country?"

Agreed. I'll give her points for handling that situation. Some men just can not accept a woman in any role other than roles that are submissive to men. Those two men seem to be of that sort.

No doubt those guys are sexist, but did Hubby Bill not make a backhanded remark by suggesting Hillary was a short, old woman?

I missed it. Thanks for the transcript.

Hitchens is easy to understand if you have translators at hand.

My favorite Hitchens translators are 'I Ching', 'U Ching', 'We All Ching'; and

'Snakes in the Garden of Eden', by Anon.

Luntz on Hannity last night tried to brush over this with his panel by referring to the group he was hosting. He asked the panel, "How many of you have been in our focus group befrore," where several raised their hands. One thing wrong here. These were all people from NH. The you tube video shows us that Chucky was at focus groups in 2 different states.

If that is the transcript I guess it is safe to say that Hooked on Phonics never worked for Bush. Well, you can't win em all I suppose.

Yes, he sure did and he deserves a severe kick in the ass for what he said. He was basically saying she wasn't the candidate he knows could be sold to the voters. No fu*king wonder she felt like crying yesterday.

When Christopher Hitchins speaks he represents himself. However he makes a valid point that Obama may be an un-apologetic Creationist.
I have no problem with those who BELIEVE in the literal translation of the Bible, but when it comes to teaching those BELIEFS as science my neck hairs bristle and I'm ready to throw it down.

There are no more races to be run
there are no numbers left to be won
everybody's down we pulled each other down
there never was a truth to be found
we are all bigots so full of hatred
we release our poisons
we are all bigots so full of hatred
we release our poisons
there are no cultures left to slide
there are no more people to be tried
we're in our minds five billion pieces so defined
read it in a book, it was underlined
we are all bigots so full of hatred
we release our poisons
we are all bigots so full of hatred
we release our poisons
like styrofoam

Either these guys are just dumb drunks thinking they are funny or Hillary camp plants.

HOW CAN WE TRUST YOU EVER AGAIN? A NEW LOW HAS BEEN HIT BY THIS WEBSITE AND I FOR ONE AM NOT COMING BACK. YOU LOST ME WITH YOUR GREED!

Anyone else notice how there was not one question during any of the debates both Republican and Democratic about the Isreali Palestinian conflict. Nah nothing to look at or discuss here just ignore the issue and it will stay the same.

Here are the candidates stance on the I/P conflict
http://www.cfr.org/publication/14756/#141

John Edwards

Edwards’ statements on the conflict have been generally supportive of Israel. In a speech in Herzliya, Israel, Edwards said that former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon showed “courage” in evacuating (BosGlobe) the settlements in the Gaza Strip in 2005. Edwards also said in that speech that Israel should “upgrade” its role in NATO, and possibly even become a member, and he sharply criticized the late Yasir Arafat in a vice presidential debate in the 2004 election. Yet pro-Israel lobbyists have criticized Edwards for choosing former Rep. David Bonior (New York Sun) as an adviser to his campaign. Writer Matthew Yglesias describes Bonior as “quite possibly the Israel lobby’s least-liked legislator in recent history.”

Hillary Clinton

Though her advocacy (NYT) for Palestinian statehood in the 1990s drew criticism from American Jewish groups at the time, Sen. Clinton (D-NY) generally has aligned herself with pro-Israeli interests throughout her political career. In a February 2007 speech before the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), Clinton said Hamas, which took control of the Palestinian Authority in January 2006 and formed a coalition government with Fatah in February 2007, should not be recognized “until it renounces violence and terror and recognizes Israel’s right to exist.” Clinton also supports Israel’s “security wall,” which divides Israel from the West Bank with the declared purpose of preventing terrorist attacks.

Clinton cosponsored the Palestinian Anti-Terrorism Act of 2006. She also sponsored a Senate resolution in 2007 “calling for the immediate and unconditional release of soldiers of Israel held captive by Hamas and Hezbollah.” That resolution was approved. Since taking office in 2000, she has regularly supported military and financial aid packages to Israel.

Barack Obama “agent of change” Yeah right
Barack Obama

Sen. Obama (S-IL) has taken a strongly pro-Israel tone in addressing the conflict. In a speech before AIPAC in March 2007, Obama said the United States must “strengthen the hands of Palestinian moderates” and isolate Hamas. Haaretz U.S. correspondent Shmuel Rosner said that before AIPAC, Obama “sounded as strong as Clinton, as supportive as Bush, as friendly as Giuliani.”

Obama cosponsored the Palestinian Anti-Terrorism Act of 2006 and, like most of his fellow candidates, has called on the Palestinian leadership to “recognize Israel, to renounce violence, and to get serious about negotiating peace and security for the region.”

If elected, Obama says he would “insist on fully funding military assistance to Israel” (JPost) and continue to cooperate with Israel on the development of the Arrow missile defense system.

the MSM has ignored this but so has the so called "progressive" blogosphere. Oh Yes they have ignored it. The so called "progressive"blogosphere has a blog clog just like the MSM when it comes to the I/P issue. Especially FIREDOGLAKE

Knowing our Media someone will put out a picture of Obama holding his hand on the persons forehead just as he-she was fainting.

I'm so sick of the phrase "nanny state" especially as it comes from spoiled brats. "I don't wanna pay fair taxes. I don't wanna clean up my environment. I don't wanna be nice to other people."

Are you nuts!? Do you think they should be advertising O'REILLY'S book on the LEFT SIDE of the web site!!??

My thought was a Clinton/Obama 08 ticket would be the cons worst nightmare.

Actually when the lady fainted Obama stopped speaking and called for some help for the lady, then he handed down his bottle of water for her. He didn't resume his speech until she had been carried out of the room. Joe Scarborough seemed to think the whole thing was funny as hell. One of the night news people was with Joe at the studio or wherever they were and this guy said he hoped the lady would be okay. To which Joe said oh, I thought you were going to say we should take a moment and pray for her. Then he once again laughed hysterically. I swear, Joe is acting like he's drunk or something. Very bizarre.

'Someone just fainted at an Obama speech'?

That's normal, the man is working the crowd now, gettin' down.

As soon as he does the laying on of the hands, that fainted person will come alive, and

BE ABLE TO WALK, AND HEAR, AND SEE AGAIN.

AND THROW AWAY THE WHEELCHAIR.

It's hard to believe there are people so backward and stupid that they would do something like that to a presidential candidate. Hillary handled it perfectly but that's probably because she's been dealing with crap just like that for a very long time.
I cannot help but admire her for all she has accomplished in her life.
I'm not a Hillary supporter but I most certainly do respect her.

Joe was just confused by the alien concepts of 'concern' and 'caring'. When stupid people are confused, laughter is often their [inappropriate] response.

But surprise Matthews says absolutely nothing about the fact that Edwards is not taking PAC MONEYAND IS NOT INVOLVED WITH LOBBYIST.

My thought was a Clinton/Obama 08 ticket would be the cons worst nightmare.

Are you kidding this would be part of the cons dream. Hillary voted for the Kyl Lieberman amendment Obama sat on the fence. Go listen to Seymour Hersh on Hillary's vote for this amenment.

AMY GOODMAN: In Iran.

SEYMOUR HERSH: In Iran, rather. They don’t—it’s just not a problem. He didn’t mean—I don’t know whether the translation was flat, you know, when translations are always pretty bad, as any of you know. I’ve given speeches in foreign countries, and getting the translation back is always pretty comical. It’s never very good.

AMY GOODMAN: Sy Hersh, I wanted to switch gears for the last question, and this has to do with it not just being Republicans who are sounding a drumbeat for war. The three leading Democratic presidential candidates—Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards—have all declared no options off the table. This is a clip from last week’s Democratic debate. It was the day the Senate approved a controversial resolution calling on the State Department to designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist organization. At the debate, Democratic presidential hopeful Mike Gravel bitterly criticized Hillary Clinton for voting in favor.

MIKE GRAVEL: This is fantasy land. We’re talking about ending the war. My god, we’re just starting a war right today. There was a vote in the Senate today. Joe Lieberman, who authored the Iraq resolution, has authored another resolution, and it is essentially a fig leaf to let George Bush go to war with Iran. And I want to congratulate Biden for voting against it, Dodd for voting against it, and I’m ashamed of you, Hillary, for voting for it. You’re not going to get another shot at this, because what’s happened, if this war ensues, we invade, and they’re looking for an excuse to do it. And Obama was not even there to vote.

TIM RUSSERT: Senator Clinton, I want to give you a chance to respond.

SEN. HILLARY CLINTON: [laughter]

AMY GOODMAN: That was Hillary Clinton laughing. Fifteen seconds, Seymour Hersh. Your response?

SEYMOUR HERSH: Money. A lot of the Jewish money from New York. Come on, let’s not kid about it. A significant percentage of Jewish money, and many leading American Jews support the Israeli position that Iran is an existential threat. And I think it’s as simple as that. When you’re from New York and from New York City, you take the view of—right now, when you’re running a campaign, you follow that line. And there’s no other explanation for it, because she’s smart enough to know the downside.

AMY GOODMAN: And Obama and Edwards?

SEYMOUR HERSH: I—you know, it’s shocking. It’s really surprising and shocking, but there we are. That’s American politics circa 2007.

Mmmm maybe. The Dems problem for the past two elections and is still motivating people to get out in force and put a Dem over the top.

Hillary and Obama could attract HUGE blocks of Votes. Probably enough to landslide in.

Other then that I have no illusions there is any easy and instant fix to our problems because there is not.

Were in for tough times, unknown challenges, and only energy and ingenuity and hard WORK is going to get us out of this mess.

so disappointing even Amy Goodman of Democracy Now opens her coverage of the New Hampshire primary focused on Obama Clinton Obama Clinton. It's as if Former Senator Edwards did not come in second in Iowa.

Ouch Amy even you are part to the lovefest for Obama.

Come listen to Amy play the same game that Chris Matthews is playing. Obama/Clinton Obama Clinton...no mention that Edwards is in the race. Call Amy let her know people are listening...she is not being fair and balanced either

Go listen for yourselves.

I have sincerely noticed that the so called "progressive" media is ignoring Edwards as much as the MSM. Go listen to Mark Green of Air Americas program this past Saturday. Mark Green had Arianna Huffigton and Gary Hart on all they talked about was Obama/Clinton Obama Obama Obama Clinton. Katrina from the Nation tried to bring up Edwards but Mark Green swept her efforts under the rug.

Hillary missed a great opportunity. She should have said, "No, but I'll clean up the White House."

Sometimes smart people are inarticulate, and sometimes they're friggin' dolts, like our prez.

Hitchens has his rare moments of lucidity, but man, he's so often a hack.

I'd like more info on that plant for Luntz, but methinks that could be a much bigger story.

And the open secrets site is useful.

Hitchens makes me sad. He reminds me of myself when I've had too much to drink and everything looks like shit and I start randomly taking swings at things.

Hillary rocks. Good article. It would be nice if she were a more vocal advocate of female empowerment, but I guess one step at a time.

The US Chamber of Commerce announced today it would 'invest' upwards of $60M to defeat any candidate(s) who proposed 'anti-business' initiatives.

Because, after all, business is what made this country great, and gave us all our jobs, and does 'everything' just for us, as their commercials say. Why, business is like a father or mother to us all, we couldn't get along without them, and they know best how things should be, and what and how we should do things. After all 'god' divided people into two group, employees and employers, and employers are the smart ones who can make things work, and employees are the dummies who should just give thanks every day that employers are there to take care of them. Amen, Hallelujah, All Thanks to Business.

I wonder if credit bureaus and collection agencies all over the country are going to start sending 'past due' notices to John Edwards, sort of like negative campaign contributions?

I'm not sure what you find to dislike in Hitch's article... Everything in there is perfectly reasonable. His objections are those that any responsible liberal should have. Obama is fawned over while Clinton gets articles written about "why she rubs people the wrong way" and such...
