Mike's Blog Round Up

Susie Bright: The end of a publishing era as "Best American Erotica 2008" will be the last in the series. What this says about publishing, reading, and those of us who write anything at all, is sad, sad.

Too Sense: Andrew Young needs Jesus.

Les Enrages: an open letter to Tom Donahue, president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Shakespeare's Sister: Bush's Freedom Agenda (involves cocktail weenies, of course).

CJSD blog: Twelve ways to pick a candidate, even when Huckabee has completely lost his "figure."

(Mike's playing music on a boat with the Phantom Blues Band and is temporarily away from internet; he'll be back soon.)

I looked up "Doughy Pantload" on Urban Dictionary and noticed there wasn't an entry.

Anyone care to do the honors?

My website:
http://debates.redlasso.com/dbt

It contains hundreds and hundreds of debate videos from the debates. All of the most recent debates are included and the site is updated with new debates in a timely fashion.

Embed a video on your blog, link a video for a friend or simply educate yourself on whichever candidate/issue you want to know more about! Please let me know what you think of it. I've spent countless hours putting it together.

I want to take a moment to thank Paul D. His work is well worth the click. --BG

Oh dang I forgot to pimp my own blog when I did the round up. Too late. (All I got is a video blog on race, gender, and the Democratic Party.)

Maybe next time... ;)

Bush delivers arms sale to Saudi Arabia
AP - 46 minutes ago

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia - President Bush, on his first visit to this oil-rich kingdom, delivered a major arms sale Monday to a major ally in a region where the U.S. casts neighboring Iran as a menace to stability.

The administration was notifying Congress of its intent to sell $20 billion in weapons, including precision-guided bombs, to the Saudis. It is "a pretty big package, lots of pieces," national security adviser Stephen Hadley told reporters on Air Force One.

The main reason that I'm as pissed as a pissed off patricia is reading the news today, there is hardly any mention of white democratic male candidates. I can understand how people can think it's time for change but, I think it is time to talk about issues, not endorsements or what one or the other candidate meant about MLK. In the Wa Post Edwards name was mentioned twice, Kucinich once. In the NY Times Edwards was mentioned once. No mention of issues for republican or Democratic candidates. One full article on endorsements. "WE THE PEOPLE" deserve better. Tell the media we want better news and coverage of the white male democratic candidates and the issues. Don't just write aa letter to Tom Donahue, get on the media's case.

Blue Gal, as always, thanks for the linky love to CJSD.

I love the idea of history recording Bush's foreign policy as "Cocktail Weenie Foreign Policy."

You mean I've been looking at Mike's Blog Roundup for years and thinking, "Hmm...some guy with the same name as Mike Finnegan," and now it turns out it is Mike Finnegan?

Hell of a player, and a very distinctive singer too. One of his solo albums had the best version ever of "New York State Of Mind." I was fortunate to work with him during the Finnegan and Wood days.
