Liveblogging at the Michigan primary
Michigan Messenger has the latest information.
And according to MM, weather conditions are not conducive to high turn-out. Many parts of the state were blanketed in 3 to 5 inches of sloppy, wet snow overnight, with schools being closed in some areas.
UPDATE: This site, Pick Your President has been measuring online votes in key states: California, Colorado, Michigan, Ohio, Washington and Wisconsin. Call me skeptical, but it looks like there may be some gaming of the polls by a few ardent supporters.

Didn't I read that the Democratic one lost its sanction so it gets no delegates anyways?
Possible first?
I just hope the pollsters don't make the SAME MISTAKE that the New Hampshire pollsters did.
With the moderator's permission:
This is too funny...Bagdhad Bob is now campaigning for Mittsy Flipney Romney!

Uh, I think that being disinfranchised is "not conducive to high turn-out." Also, the fact that our names are being gathered by the Party Oligharchs, Mark Brewer and Saulius Anuzis, turns people off a great deal.
I voted Gravel. As if it matters.
Look, I hate to be off-topic, but I just saw some Jay Newton-Small, purportedly from Time mag. on MSNBC who actually had the balls to say that today's bad economic news and plunging stock market could be blamed by the Republic's on Bill F**king Clinton!!!!! Oh, yeah she doesn't have any balls but Jay looks like Roseanne Rosanadana (sp?) She said the argument was that the recession started more than 7 years ago and that the Dems have been resisting the tax cuts that were pulling us out. Delusional and Outrageous doesn't begin to describe this hag.
Does anyone know ... Did Mitt Romney's company buy Clear Channel Communications?
Theres quite a few stations in Michigan....
http://www.michiguide.com/dials/owners/cc.html
What would it cost to buy the support of just about every nationally-syndicated neocon talk show host in America?
About $19.5 Billion, which is what Mitt Romney’s private equity firm, Bain Capital, and Thomas H. Lee Partners have agreed to pay in a leveraged buyout agreement with Clear Channel Communications, the largest radio station owner in the country.

STEVEinSC @ 5:
Right Clinton handed Bush a Surplus and $750 Billion in debt.
Whats bush do? Destroy the surplus and wrack up another $7 Trillion in debt.
Right, It's Clintons Fault.
From this news article:
So...will this be the P/VP rethug ticket in '08?
I've said it before here: Lieberman is the reason the Dems are impotent in Congress. All he has to do is bolt, and he effectively removes the Dem lead in the Senate.
Liberman is toxic.
The Smiths Go To Washington @ 6:
Yes Mitt has his hands in everything.
just in time for the elections... the crooks are positioning the radio stations...

umm, online voting? voting by phone?
Do it for the Aqua Net
L.A. Confidential @ 9:
Well, not exactly everything. Just for openers, Romney left Bain Capital 10 years ago.

Yeah...and Dick Cheney doesn't work for Halliburton anymore, right? Romney is the most dangerous candidate out there, because he is the continuation incarnate of Cheney/BushCo.. Yet, that doesn't stop dopes like the guy over at Kos from telling Dems to vote for this guy to keep up the 'negative' fun in the GOP primaries! None of us will be laughing if we have to stand against Romney in November...believe it!
ShouldBeWorking @ 1:
I read and heard the same.
Lollimom @ 8:
and reid licks LIEberman's ass daily.
An update on the Michigan Primary. At my precinct location in Westland (a Detroit western suburb where but two inches of snow fell and the roads are just fine) 108 voters had cast ballots as of 1:30 p.m. EST. Despite the absence of an actual contest on the Democratic side, 56 of the 108 voters had requested Democratic ballots - a most interesting statistic that bodes well for November, I think. In general, this precinct is politically middle of the road with a mix of seniors and younger families.
Espiritu Vomitus Sancti!
"I have opponents in this race who do not want to change the Constitution. But I believe it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living god. And that's what we need to do -- to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than try to change God's standards so it lines up with some contemporary view."
- - Mike Huckabee, explaining that the United States Constitution never uses the word "God" or makes mention of any religion, drawing its sole authority from "We the People", and that he thinks it's time to change that.

At my precinct location in East Lansing I voted about 10:45 am, I believe there were about 206 ballots cast. About 2/3 of those ballots were absentee.
Don't hate me, I took Kos's advice
http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/1/10/2713/87225/55/434206
I cast the 187th vote in my precinct in Grand Rapids. My precinct usually votes Democratic, but I don't know what in hell's gonna happen in this primary. The weather on this side of the state has been overcast(though I can't speak for the Lake Michigan shoreline, where they can get 3 inches of snow when 10 miles inland it might be cloudless).
I voted "uncommited" on the Democratic ballot. Couldn't get myself to game the GOP primary. I suspect that Romney and McCain will run very close on the GOP side.
Last time. I promise, but how nuts is Huck?
I voted in Lodi Township, just outside of Ann Arbor, as did my wife.
We are progressives, but we took the Republican ballot and voted for Huckabee, as we support Clinton and didn't feel that voting for her would really do any good.
We take delight in the exposure to bright light that a real run as the Republican nominee would give to Huckabee's evangelistic, nonsensical ideas. We want to see him on the stage in a real debate, with Hillary making him say out loud that he believes that dinosaurs and humans cavorted together less than 6,000 years ago. And that the end of the world is near.
We think there is enough pent-up irritation at the Christian right-wing, that such a run and exposure would crack it into meaningless pieces.
One can only hope.
P.S. Our district is so gerrymandered Republican that we get all their mailings already, anyway.
This was a very interesting post I found from Michigan in regards to the computerized voting machines:

Le Roi Est Mort @ 4:
Agreed. I voted for Kucinich.
The thought had crossed my mind to follow DailyKos' advice to vote in the Republican primary, but there was no way I was going to get on their phone list. No friggin way.
I vote in Grand Rapids; I was the 14th voter in my precinct at 9 AM, which is about par for the course.
Slaw @ 26:
Wher in GR, Slaw? I live in Heritage Hill and vote at Westminster Presbyterian on Jefferson.
BTW, when I said I was the 187th vote in my precinct I should have added that I voted at 4pm. Pretty light turnout.
SplendidOne @ 24:
Bless yours souls! :)
I'm in Eastown and vote at Sigsbee Elementary. My precinct has a lot of students and other rentals, and I get the impression that there aren't many voters in those groups (at least in my neighborhood). Some might also be registered elsewhere.
In the general election we have the same poll workers year after year, and they like to compete to see whose street gets the most votes.
Le Roi Est Mort @ 4:
I did too. And I know a few others who were also planning to vote for Mike. So he'd better get at least a half-dozen votes!!!
why would you post that savage crap here?
