Heath Ledger attacked over Brokeback Mountain role
Dan Abrams and even The Scar were offended by John Gibson's mocking of Heath Ledger's death by right wingers. Will O'Reilly read off a few comments made on message boards about Ledger to his audience? You knew some wingnuts would try to play the homophobia card on Ledger because of his role in Brokeback Mountain. Simply amazing. Well, not really...

John Gibson responds via Think Progress to the outcry from his stupidity by "saying that it was just “a little Brokeback Mountain joke” and there is “no point in passing up a good joke.”
UPDATE: GLAAD has started a petition asking Fox News “why they continue to provide a platform for John Gibson’s cruel and tasteless comments.”
UPDATE II: Perez Hilton identifies a list of Fox News’ current advertisers.

Who cares about this closeted, middle-aged white man.
i'd love to hear some comments about this from larry craig, ted hagert or mark foley :)
Mr Gibson that is a funneh joke!
Hear the one about that dead homosexual?
Heeeeeelarious!
How about the one about Jews in a concentration camp?
Haw haw haw.
Or that old negro joke, bout how he was shackled and drowned and still got arrested?
Haw haw haw.
Ahm can't pass up a good joke!
Mercy me, ahm getting de vapours!
What a jerk.
Somebody should sic a gay hit squad on Gibson's ass. Call Craig!
“no point in passing up a good joke.”
Gibby, Your political party of choice is so crowded with closet case
jokes, who knows WHERE to start....
O , Kay , , , if I were 2 use Gibshat's advice to not pass up a good joke :
What's the Best part about former President Ronald Reagan's death ?
At least he ain't pissing & shitting his diapers anymore !
Ha Ha Ha HAA!
Gibson: ‘To anyone offended by my comments, I’m sorry.’
If Heath Ledger knew what blowhard idiots like John Gibson and Fred Phelps would say about his untimely death, I'm sure he wouldn't give a donkey's ass about it. And neither should anyone else... Ignore it and stop feeding into negative emotions. It's unhealthy.
BoiseNick @ 7:
Cool. Are you 6 years old?
"... fighting depression... fighting substance abuse." No evidence of any of that. Joe Scarborough is as full of crap as John Gibson.
I watched Abrams last night...well, this AM, and he and his talking heads were genuinely offended. As was I. And many others I see!
Dr. Matt @ 8:
My god he actually has a soul! Amen John
“saying that it was just “a little Brokeback Mountain joke” and there is “no point in passing up a good joke.”
Gibson is as cold blooded as any snake. I really think that he actually enjoys reading about or watching people die. Hell, he probably hangs out at morgues or cruises the obituaries just for kicks. Gibson is one sick man.
Like FacistNews Channel would do anything about him, it just gives him more press and them, FNC, more ammo that the left is after them.
He should just quit and take what little is left of his morality with him.
RonPaul08izzy @ 10:
Why , are you trolling for kiddies , U Sicko ?
Are John Gibson and Chris Matthews related? Is Ann Coulter a member of the family? Are they all maybe androids with the same programming? Just wondering.
BoiseNick @ 16:
ummmm... no.
I'm asking because you sound like a fucking idiot.
If we didn't have a society sucking constantly on the tit of entertainment, we wouldn't have John Gibson.
Rather than petition, how about we write the sponsors of Gibson's show.
Since I deleted Fox from my channel programming, I don't know who they are.
Bless those of you who suffer through that for all of us.
RonPaul08izzy @ 9:
You're right in that nobody should give a donkey's ass about what idiots like that say. The problem is that those idiots are given a prominent platform to say these things. The outcome of this is that when someone has a national platform like Gibson does, they are relevant to lots of people who accept what they say as legitimate. It's not right, but that's what happens.
And I look forward to the day when I can make an insensitive joke about John Gibson's death. There's no point in passing on a good joke, right Gibby?
more at my blog...
gibson, and his buddies at fox are scum.
On a brighter note, I've seen peter a few times now on different shows, and he seems like a pretty reasonable person. Hopefully he can bring about some change in that swamp that
the repubs like to hang out in.
Wait...that is funny!
The Angry Albino is even more insane than O'Reilly or Hannity. This is the guy that started that whole "War On Christmas" bullshit.
I wish I could quit far rightwing noise propaganda.
RonPaul08izzy @ 18:
What is it with "Special and Unique" Cowardly Assholes like U , Mr Annon , who MUST give their negative, childish opinion of Every FUCKING thing under the sun ?
If U have SO much time , as to spend it PISSING others off , would you first Please ;
Take your Fat Head outta Your Crazy Fuck ASS . "Cause it MUST hurt , brother .
You Pissy & Sad excuse for a Libertarian !
MMmmmm , K ?
RonPaul08izzy @ 13:
What ? You accept that as an apology ? It is the definition of " well, it's the least I could do ". You may be correct, he has a soul, but it is a rotten one.
RonPaul08izzy @ 13:
It wasn't much of an "apology". He was sorry that people were offended by his comments, he wasn't sorry for the comments.
DaveTheAngryRhodeIslander @ 21:
And what good would that do to crack jokes about Gibson's death? I don't wanna further the sufferering of his family. I don't need to redo his stupid actions to justify his stupid actions. That and a lot more qualities are what make me different than someone like him. Besides... the signifcance his life is to our world is too small for me to put the time and energy into it.
His lame-ass "I'm sorry" doesn't cut it with me.
He took great joy in joking about it on his radio program, and "I'm sorry" fixes nothing.
I want to hear his employer say, "I'm sorry, but you're fired."
RonPaul08izzy @ 18:
I think Nick was meaning to convey a little quid pro quo or an eye for an eye with his comment.
Joe O. @ 31:
THANK YOU , , ,
That group to which Dan Abrams referred - that's gotta be Fred Phelps merry band of inbred psychopaths. How can Abrams be even remotely shocked by this? These cretins protest at the funerals of dead soldiers for fucks sake! As for Gibson, I hope this is his Imus moment but you know what? His "show" is syndicated by Westwood One - aren't they the same company that carry Wiener Savage's program?? Yeah, wait until he gets into it. All these people are fucking insane; they're sick, twisted individuals; In other words they represent perfectly a large, diseased segment of American society
RonPaul08izzy @ 13:
My god he actually has a soul!
No, he doesn't. He merely has a rudimentary sense of where the wind is blowing from.
;)
So John says he is sorry. Well, that is true. He is one of the sorriest, least competent people on the idiot box.
Dr. Matt @ 28:
Well it's just that "I'm sorry" is something I just never expected out of the mouth of a Fox News pundit. Imagine if that pompus lying asshole O'Reilly had the guts to do it. I can't.
Faux News is going to be remembered as the biggest disgrace to American Journalism in history. This incident is just one perfect example.
downright sickening
highly offensive
will fox news do anything about this?
I remember sitting in a little cafe years ago, reading a newspaper article that featured a gallery of young actors and actresses that had potential. I looked at Heath Ledger's photo, turned to my friend, pointed to the pic and said, "That guy is going to be a star."
Ledger, to me, had something just incredibly special about him. His death, especially at such a tender age, is extremely saddening.
I hope that karma follows John Gibson for the rest of his days and metes to him a worthy punishment for his callousness.
ABlack @ 34:
I stand corrected I guess.
budda @ 38:
NOT A CHANCE.
Craziness runs in the wingnut family.
There use to be an unwritten law that put the recently deceased off limits to criticism. Gibson crossed the line again but won't have to worry about losing his job. That's one of the benefits of working for the snakes at Fox.
RonPaul08izzy @ 36:
I agree. I can't imagine anyone at Fox News apologizing for anything. Least of all Gibson or O'Reilly. In fact, I bet it was so hard for Gibson to do his "I'm sorry" segment that Fox News had to force him at gunpoint. That is probably why he seems so hesitant in the video clip.
O.T warning!
Joe O. @ 31:
It's composite comments like this that make me nostalgic for Hell-O- Scum!
*SIGH*
Carry on!
O'Rielly is a pompous ass, and a real egotistical pig.
But, Gibby, he is...scary. Something is deeply twisted in
that sick head...
I can see the neighbors being interviewed as they are brining up
the bodies from the basement of Gibby's house...
"He seemed so normal...."
Damn, the day it happened I predicted one of the Republican presidential candidates would do this...
John Gibson is coming under fire for his quotes that the FCC and even the lunatic fringe media "watchdog" group MRC, (Media Research Center), is calling for the cancellation of his radio show. The Radio Factor was cancelled on 300 radio stations that had his show after his racist remarks about the NYC restaurant, 1500 advertisers including Saturn of RT 23 and RT 23 Honda, and Geico all pulled their ads from his radio show. The same is gonna happen to Gibson trust me.
I'll give him some credit for apologizing. It's WAY more than O'Reilly would do. But the man is filled with hate. Remember this (from Mediamatters):
On the August 10, 2007, broadcast of his radio show, Gibson and Angry Rich mocked Stewart for emotional remarks he made shortly after the 9-11 attacks. While airing a clip of Stewart's remarks from the September 20, 2001, edition of The Daily Show, Gibson mimicked Stewart and sarcastically interjected, "Oh, God, Jon. Just tell me it's not true," and, "Oh! That's great. I'm -- God, I'm touched." Before playing the clip, Angry Rich asked, "Do you remember what the media was like shortly after 9-11?" Gibson answered, "Oh, Jon Stewart sobbing." After the clip concluded, Angry Rich called Stewart a "phony."
Why does John Gibson even have a "My Word" segment to offer a non-apology on? He's a disgusting hatemonger and he has nothing substantive to offer. Surely there are people better than this sick freak who'd be happy to offer their opinions for a couple of hours every day.
RonPaul08izzy @ 13:
You'd better go back and watch that clip again. The prick is practically smirking as he gives his "apology". A real apology sounds like this: "I realize I don't really have a knack for on-air comedy and therefore I crossed a line in my comments about Heath Ledger. I'm sorry, and I sincerely apologize to his family and fans everywhere". THAT would be an apology. What he said sounded more like this:
"Ok,Ok, Ok! I'm sorry alright!! I'm sorry he's dead, OK?? Now will you fa**ot lovers get off my back already? Jeez!" THAT'S what I heard in his "apology". Hell, even Imus was more sincere when he fucked up.
This really is beyond the pale. Mocking the death of someone who happened to play a gay man in a movie? And then, mocking people who think that's insensitive. Make no mistake about it. If you listen to the AUDIO LINK, it's clear he knows exactly what he's saying. I have the sneaking suspicion that the apology he gave was forced because they know how bad this looks.
The crazy thing is that the people who listen to this crap think of themselves as the "authentic Americans". I've met plenty. Stupid, bigoted, hateful, and truly *proud* of it.
Apples @ 52:
In that respect, they ARE real Americans.
only thing i can say is some people are stupid making tasteless jokes at the death of a star .. even if his biggest success was a movie about 2 people hiding who and what they are and destroying 2 families instead
it’s clear he knows exactly what he’s saying. I have the sneaking suspicion that the apology he gave was forced because they know how bad this looks.
YUP! :+: :)
Gibson is a fucking ghoul.....Hell even I and others on this site chilled when Falwell croaked....As for Fox generally... One word.. pathetic...JD
I think Brzezinski feels "sick" and "nauseous" because Gibson's comments implicate the entire "pseudo-news" industry (like Scarborough and Brzezinski) as vapid, corporate shills who are paid to look nice, read copy, and push forward the party-line agenda.
John Gibson looks like a tired old queen. She's got half a can of Aqua Net in her red tinted hair. My guess is she is just another one of those fearful conservative self hating homos twice as bitter because she never had Heath Ledger's looks, talent or fame. I doubt this old closet queen could have gotten laid when she was young let alone now without having to pay top dollar for it. Funny how all these conservative homophobes all seem to look like the queeniest told roll in any gay bar. Gibson has spent her whole life hating herself and it shows.
Gibson must have hit the Aqua Velva a little too hard before the broadcast.
Hey John! You're supposed to splash it on your face, not drink it.
Joe Scarborough comes out of this looking good. Imagine that!!!!!! First time for everything.
He is the prototypical smug white middle age conservative asshole. Sure he can dish it, but wait until he has to deal with something mildly unpleasant and you will see his whine fest. Much like his pal Glen Beck... Mr. Tough guy who asks everyone else to tough it out, but ever since he had to deal with the hardship of post op he's been whining like a little girl.
I fart in their general direction....
RonPaul08izzy @ 9:
You're right. I feel certain Ledger did Brokeback in large part due to bigoted homophobes like Gibson and Phelps.
Guys suck as Howard Stern, Opie & Anthony built their entire careers on fart jokes, racial humor and goofing on celebrity tragedies. What John Gibson did is nothing new.
abob @ 63:
Yeah and I can't stand those guys, either!
gene214 @ 53:
I actually think common Americans are great people. Many are misguided but most have good intentions in their hearts. If you have no respect for "real Americans" why don't you live in a country where you don't have to hate your neighbors? I'm not being condescending, I'm asking for a thoughtful answer.
Matt Drudge is gay, yet republicans never seem to attack him about it.
Hmm. Why is that?
Dr. Matt @ 8:
Thanks Doctor.
Hairplugs for men said , “I’m sorry that some took my comments as anti-gay and insensitive,”
...he should have said, "I'm sorry I made some anti-gay and insensitive comments,"
But hell, I was surprised he said he was sorry.
WinSmith @ 66:
Just because Drudge enjoys frequenting gay bars where he drinks and dances and shares positive insightful conversations with male strangers, and at the end of the evening sticks his whilly whomper up the muddy waters of other men's backsides in some dirty bathroom stall while high on crystal meth, doesn't incline that he's gay. And how dare you make such an insinuation.
It's not like he's marrying them...
budda @ 38:
Promotion?
That's the last time I buy a Boeing!
Ruthless People @ 62:
Very insightful point. As far as homophobic comments are concerned, it's not so much a matter of being angry at these shock-jockeys as it is about pitying them.
But I think there's something even more unseemly about the 'protesters' than mere homophobia. Heath deserves a proper celebration of his life, for his sake and for the sake of his family/friends. The fact that somebody would consider interrupting a funeral and compounding the grief of the attendees seems unbelievably callous no matter what their motives are.
Gibson is a heartless fuck-tard. I told his producers as much, and I'm writing his sponsors too. Thanks for the links.
If I ever run into this pig Gibson on the street, it will be the sorriest day of his life.
Exactly how much more of this are we supposed to take?
RonPaul08izzy @ 65:
Yes, we are a good people just a bit ignorant. This is due to several reasons.
We are taught we are the greatest country on earth and believe it.
We have the ability to believe that as a great people we deseve the things we have. We do not think of other people abroad and in this country that live on less than 2 dollars a day.
We are very poor travelers. If we do venture beyond our borders to Canada and Mexico we go in a pack and see everything from a big airconditioned bus. We see 22 countries in 9 days.
Many of us now lack a common sense that the generations prior to us had in abundance.
I could go on and on but I am sure you already know.
As for living in another country.
Which do you recommend ?
How do we do it?
Do we go as illegal immigrants and hope for an amnesty by any other name?
I will end with this, I WILL NOT LEAVE. This is my beloved country. I love the ideal on which we were founded and I will stay and fight until my fellow citizens lose their ignorance and together we will see our government reach that ideal.
We need to make sure all his advertisers hear about this no one should be paying for his bigots air time. Does anyone have list?
Boycott all the advertisers of Fox and News corp. It is our only non-violent recourse they'll understand.
E
(And let those advertisers know!)
NEED TO GO AFTER HIS SPONSORS....
Just like Brave New Films did with Michael Wiener Savage
Gibson's a douchebag for sure. But to be fair, I remember feeling great joy when Jerry Falwell died and the only thing distasteful you could say about that man (living or dead) would be something complimentary.
I love these simpering, ignorant bell-ends who state that they somehow know God's opinions. I laugh in the face of any Christian who can say "God hates". Insecure, sanctimonious turds.
By his behaviour, I presume John Gibson is a member of Westboro Baptist.
What I find the most appalling is that John Gibson only got up the nerve to say anything about Ledger's role in Brokeback Mountain after he was dead and couldn't retaliate himself. Ffing coward.
I have gained much respect for Dan Abrams. He is taking on the American Taliban wannabes. If they dumped the Scar, Tweety and maybe a few others, NBC would start gaining a sterling reputation standing up to the far-right loons.
Ya know, it's gonna be the little "victories" like this (I feel funny calling this a victory) that might just return our nation to a state of normalcy, where journalists act like journalists, not the lapdogs of politicians and corporations. Gibson was forced to correct his nasty actions, setting a new precedent.
"Acting like a bigoted asshole is NOT OK!" seems to be the moral of this story. Now if US journalists can relearn the old lessons such as, "Tell the truth" and "Part of my job is to investigate and dig for facts" we might be able to pull our selves out of this tailspin.
Our media here in the US needs to be scrapped and rebuilt from the ground up. I don't trust CNN, MSNBC or any other news channel here in the US. Start with the blogs, make it people-based, not fed by the mega-corporations.
That's pretty low to kick a good person, who may have been depressed/stressed and died, down like that. Especially someone so talented that had their whole life ahead of them.
Will they say the same homophobie response about Warren Beatty if he dies?
But you know? I have never even heard of some of these bigotted talking heads until I read this forum. And I never bother to listen to them. It's incredible how so many of them have a platform to spread their hatred. I guess all you need to do to get your own program on Fox is to be some extremist loon.
I just hope one day their hatred comes back to haunt them.
Indigowatcher @ 82:
Or in this case, the lapdogs of the religious-far-right mullahs in this country.
I think our Congress and Senate should pass a Resoultion regarding John, his comments, and FOX. It's the least we can do to to quell the public outcry against FOX pundits, dunces, or whatever you like to call them
The FOX idiots are so outrageously cruel and rude. I am mystified over the viewership of the their programs. Who can sit there day after day while the filth, lies, and manure are served up to the masses? They have no sense of decency, no honor, no souls. Just because a young actor dies -(they still have families and friends that should be considered) doesn't mean he is less than any of their viewers. Does anybody on FOX practice the "golden rule"? No they don't.
Joe isn't helping by saying that Heath was depressed and had a substance abuse problem. Those were never verified.
swamp him with mail. it works. heres his e-mail
john.gibson@foxnews.com
DO IT!
let's watch him crash and burn;)
russ thacker @ 88:
Sent.
Dear Mr. Gibson,
Please refrain from such comments like those on your radio broadcast regarding the death of Mr. Ledger. I am afraid you are giving Christians in general a bad name. I don't want people to think we're all like that.
~~ Sincerely, P. Fxxxxx, Illinois ~~
*
John
We xtions, we love the sinner but hate the sin. However your sin of utter disregard of another human being means that we are going to have to take away your other human aspects and check and make certain they are wired correctly. We know that your wiring is off and we want ot get it fixed as soon as possilble.
In the interim, go hid in a hole until we chat with you boss.
So I'm down here in Houston (near Sugarland) for meetings and have endured many disparaging and homophobic remarks from my peers at the expense of the late Mr. Ledger. I have no choice but to "play along."
Is anyone surprised?
I mean, this is fucking DELAY COUNTRY.
Also, at dinner the other night, two of our top salesmen and managers were SERIOUSLY discussing the anti-christness of Chavez and Obama, regurgitating those Rovian forwarded emails you may have received. The same ones widely debunked as bogus and defamatory.
These are successful, powerful people...completely insane.
These are your countrymen.
Be afraid.
I just put Brokeback Mountain up in my queue. I always meant to see it, but the late night comics at the time of its release were merciless in making fun of the film. I had to give it some distance.
After Gibson's asshole comments, I'm renting it now. Ledger was a good actor who took chances and chose good roles. Not everyone was successful, but the effort was always there.
Fuck you, John Gibson.
RIP, Heath.
I saw that Brokeback Mountain flick, but I am confused.
No show tunes?
HA HA Gibson, I can make jokes too. Rush is a big fat junkie, the Bush twins are drunken sluts, and Rhenquist died from a bad trip. I wondery why that's not as funny.
John Gibson, of FoKKKs News.
Gibson is a heartless vulture. A true pathetic excuse of a human being.
That is the caliber FUX NEWS hires.
I've seen that speaking ill of the dead is a favorite pastime of the rightwing... I'll never forget George Will's savaging of Allen Ginsburg after his death. There's a lot of hate and fear out there.
Don't you love how Dan Abrams uses bill O language. Some on the FAR right and "
we're watching you" and "we're gonna call you out" I hope he starts sending out MSNBC security after some of these "fringe" far right freaks, and start calling them anti american. that always works. Always pick out some "far right" freak posting the way Bill O does and oh yeah, good to mention that psycho anti gay group Westboro Baptist Church and keep saying you won't mention them by name. Great angle.
Doesn't John Gibson look like a character Jim Carey used to play or maybe the old guy in Jack Ass 1, 2 and 2.5....What does he look like when he rolls out of bed if that's the best he can do after hours of prep. And don't get near that hair with a lighted match. that is the only thing that tough guy is afraid of. Ouch. John you're killing us.
Please pull the Gibson remarks. They are simply offensive and do not need to be re-aired.
Joe Scar has a kid who has emotional problems which
is another reason not to like Gibson who has an SP kind
of problem.
John Gibson was/is simply jealous of Heath Ledger.
Ledger: Young, gorgeous, talented, well-liked in his field, accomplished in a real art form, got to experience what it might have been like to be a gay cowboy
Gibson: Old, botoxed, talentless, abhored in journalistic circles, on the worst cable "news" network in history, wishes daiily to be a gay cowboy
Methinks he dost protest too much.
RonPaul08izzy @ 25:
I wish the idiot WINGNUTS could quit far rightwing noise propaganda!!!!!!
Gibson, Glenn Beck, Michael Savage - the wacko right has an endless supply of small-minded bigots and fools for our entertainment. I say keep it up! Make Americans even more sick of conservatives and Republicans than we already are. Then stand back in November!
Sadly, it has come down to America vs. conservatives. Again.
DickCheneyShotMeInTheFace @ 24:
That's great, let's express outrage over homophobic comments by slurring those with albinism. That makes PERFECT sense.
Asshole.
How about we picket the picketers at Ledger's funeral and show support for the family.
The right ALWAYS attacks on a death, for example Rush Limbaugh attacked Tip O'Neal within 24 hours of his death and EVEN on the day of his funeral.
Clytemnestra @ 106:
yeah, even if it's in Perth .. but I bet their will be a memorial here that Phelps will pickett
BoiseNick @ 7:
As someone who has taken care of those with Alzheimers in a skilled care facility and watched what it does to not only the families but those who suffer from it (for in the moments they are "there" they know how dependant, how infantile they've become and how much dignity and self esteem they've lost) - your joke is not good and it is not funny
It is "Gibsonesque" which is a synonym to "Limbaughed" - which is jokes, usually made by conservatives or Republicans that make fun of or to mock a person's disability, tragedy or death. The jokes are characterized by their extreme lack of humor, decency, civility or taste. The "joke" or "humor" serves only to illustrate and illuminate the hatred, lack of compassion, and inhumanity of the teller.
Example: Dennis Miller was a fine and funny comedian before he became Limbaughed. Now his jokes are told in a Gidsoneque form which garners no laughter. It has cost Dennis Miller a job as commenter on Monday Night Football.
OK, I sent emails to the three of the sponsors on that list with whom I (can afford to) do business and two of the three emails bounced immediately. Same thing happened when I emailed some of Savage's sponsors and the two I did get through to said they no longer sponsored his show and one of them said that they hadn't done so for over eight months.
Seems to me if these types of boycott campaigns are going to have any effect at all someone needs to be sure that the lists of sponsors and email addresses handed out are valid.
That said, have you read that list of FOX News sponsors? With possibly a couple of exceptions, it's basically a list of the major multinationals and globalist corporations that benefit most from the crap the rectal orifices at FOX puke up on a daily basis.
The people at or below MY level on the food chain can't afford to buy their crap anyway, so what kind of impact are we making? I also suspect that the majority of those that CAN afford a new Lexus or Beemer yearly and who deal with the various Wall Street parasites listed are quite content with the status quo.
Maybe the two thirds of us who care more about the country than about continuing to be smashed into the mud by massive global corporations and the bloodsucking leeches on Wall Street would do better by simply not watching FOX News.
Log Cabin Republicans, the self-hating GOP epidemic....
Sexual problems = angry con-servative white men....
Irony & Hypocrisy...nearly exclusive domains of the GOP
The peroxide demon is just out right creepy, Im a believer in free speech and i say let these idiots keep making complete dicks of themselves, let them make it known who they really are, insensitive, moronic nut cases, lets just see what happens to there careers if they continue with this filth, sooner or later they will find themselves out of a job when even the most ardent fox news listener/veiwer realizes what disgusting people the likes of Gibson and o'Reilly are, although i doubt even O'Reilly would stoops this low ?????
gene214 @ 53:
Again...I'm reminded of "Idiocracy"...
RonPaul08izzy @ 13:
No, he doesn't have a soul. The old "To anyone offended by my comments, I'm sorry" crap is not an apology. An apology is being sorry for what you actually said. Not being sorry that someone was offended by what you said.
I'm glad that mr. a-hole gibson thinks it funny to make jokes about someone who just passed not even a month ago. Heath had a child and a family that really loved him have more respect for the dead, you jerk.
Perez Hilton says some of the cruelest, nastiest things about people in his own blog! He's such a hypocrite! Maybe we should all write to his sponsors to get them to pull ads off this site for all of your own hateful speech…
Give Gibson a break. He was distraught because a white man died.
According to Think Progress the Gibster made one of those mealy mouthed non-apology apologies about his remarks. You know....the I'm sorry that some were offended by my remarks. No sense of shame or contrition about the offensiveness of his remarks, only that some people interpreted them that way. These people have taken the non-apology apology to a whole new level.
This is more sad than funny!
To think people actually watch and listen to these clowns is frightening.
Like Ann Coulter, the only way these sad pathetic people get attention is to say something shocking, usually someone who cannot defend themselves (typical bully behavior). It's funny how these wing-nuts are always on some cultural jihad or other while they themselves are turning the public discourse into a nothing but a bunch of crude, unfunny, insensitive, ugly, stupid remarks. They certainly have nothing worthwhile to say.
how low can they get?
lordkoos @ 98:
Don't forget Faux's obituary for Kurt Vonnegut, ending with "Vonnegut, who failed at suicide 23 years ago, said 34 years ago that he hoped his children wouldn't say of him when he was gone, 'He made wonderful jokes, but he was such an unhappy man.' So I'll say it for them."
About the videos, I know it's bad and I shouldn't do it because people face real bigotry from these morons, but one of the Yahoo Groups posts that Abrams put up ("That is what he gets for participating in poisoning the minds of people with gayness") is so incredibly stupid that I can't stop laughing at it.
John Gibson fits in perfectly with the misfits at Fox "News". These guys are a bunch of hate filled losers that should not have more than a soap box to speak from but instead have been given a national podium by the psychotic management team and owner of Fox "News". The truly sad thing is the large number of viewers of Fox "News". No one ever went broke overestimating the stupidity of the American public.
This isn't the first time this has happened. In 1994, Rush Limbaugh almost got fired (damn!), when he said this about Kurt Cobain: "I think he's just a worthless shred of Human Debris. Good Riddance. Everyone is feeling so sad, who cares? He was a drug addicted nutcase. I should have killed him myself."
