I don't understand the argument between Romney and McCain. They are BOTH saying how they will continue the War as if this is something the American people want, yet about 75% of Americans want an end to the Iraq War and want some accountability on the fact that it was started in the first place.
What am I missing?
Republicans are in trouble regarding the houses, but in regards to the presidency, McCain could easily win. The idea that dems are a shoo-in is dangerous if you really want a dem to win.
Why do we have to wait to get rid of these idiots? Why isn't the House and Pelosi demanding impeachment! Things can't continue the way they are now. Oue economy is failing, Mukasey is as bad as Gonzo, millions of Americans are losing their homes, no healthcare, no jobs. This is as bad as it gets. I have lost all faith in both political parties.
Jesus was all MAN. How dare you link to the suggestion that he was a "liberal!"
It's in the Bible. A book that all He-Men read for constant advice and grooming tips.
The link to Secrecy News -- I thought this site banned all discussion of anything possibly having to do with alternative 9/11 theories.
Bit NOLA @ 4:
LOL ... thanks for the chuckle.
Do we really care what the Pope says anymore?
Infallible Banality.
Once a "Hitler Youth .... so on and so forth."
Yes, by all means, consider the Huck.
How did he figure out that he needed to drop like 500 pounds of his deep-fried self to be president? He couldn't have thought of that on his own.
It's in the Bible. Everything's in there. Except unicorns: the only thing missing.
And yes, HUCK! has molded himself into the very spitting image of our manly lord and savior. Read the part about the belly of the whale. It's all about working-out.
I'm convinced we AmErIcAnS will find a way to further f*#k up this country regardless of who emerges.
Personally, I think Huck looks more like a Friar Tuck than anything else. The only thing he is missing is a brown robe with a rope tied around his waist.
L.A. Confidential @ 9:
Considering the remaining candidates, that's hardly a bold predicition.
Regarding Mukasey being as bad as Gonzo: Isn't this a no-brainer? I mean the guy was picked by the Bush dept. who is potentially facing investigations on a host of issues (i guess every issue they've been involved in).
I don't think they were going to pick someone who was going to hurt them.
Yes I know the spineless Dems won't do anything but the potential for investigations is at least there.
Wow... hard to believe a neocon Bush insider would try to control an investigation that could uncover a lot of bad stuff about the Bush group. Sounds like one of them kooky conspiracy theories!
Actually, '888' is a code for Christ: the numeric sum of the letters (in Greek) spelling Jesus is 888, just as 616 is a reference to "the beast", a code for Nero (as opposed to 666, which has been discredited). Whether or not the senators intented is another matter...
Chris @ 13:
My stomach always churned when the corporate media called it "the independent 9/11 commission" when I knew Zelikow was running it. Maybe the corporate media can start referring to Mukasey's office as "the independent attorney general's office".
You know, I have to say it somewhere where it'll get read....
I've contributed money to C&L because it dismantles simple-minded journalism.
And yet I have to see a headline referring to Ralph Nader in the most simple-minded of slurs, dispite all the studies that showed that Gore won Florida, and that Nader got him more votes than he tool away... dispite the fact that Nader took the same amount of votes from BOTH parties in '04...
Do I pay to see this childish, republican-like scapegoating?
I see myself clicking on C&L less and less this year.
Secrecy News: The head of the 9/11 Commission was in frequent contact with Karl Rove and other Bushistas during the 20 month “investigation.”
NBC News also covers the Rove/Zelikow controversy surrounding the 9/11 Commission here.
Yo Mike. The report on Nader was important to me because it linked him with Republican funding. That was the story. Do you disagree with that?
VietVet8666 @ 5:
Well now I’m REALLY confused.
And it seems that vietvet8666 is equally confused with comment number 5.
Recently, a comment I posted regarding the anthrax terrorism story was deleted twice, even though many comments which are far more conspiracy-driven than mine, remain.
And today on Mike’s Blog Round-up, I find a link to the news that chairman Phillip Zelikow was, illegally, in constant communication with Karl Rove during the 9/11 Commission investigation. Of course the point I was trying to make was that any entity which tries to impose any degree of oversight concerning our government is going to be led, time and time again, into the realm of 9/11 Truth.
Honestly, I am not trying to be difficult or challenging to your policies…I just don’t understand where your boundaries lie concerning this matter. Actually, I am a huge fan of Crooks & Liars, and check your postings several times every day.
I know this comment will be subjected to moderation before it is allowed on the site, so I ask the moderator to help clarify this issue. I am including my original anthrax comment at the end of this post, and I ask the moderator to, instead of deleting it, please EDIT it to show me exactly what is allowed and what is not. I thank you and am sure many other visitors to your site will be informed as well.
My twice-deleted anthrax post read:

I for one value the pope's opinion, being that it is infallible.
But right now climate scientists are praying harder than the pope ever could.
Orangutan. @ 18:
If you're talking about Republicans having contributed to his campaign, I'm not sure why that should make me angry, considering Pfizer and Chevron and other companies who were criminally convicted of crimes by the federal government, giving millions of dollars to the Democrat Party.
Can't have too much on Mukasey and torture. Good lord.
Ted Kennedy just grilled Ed Mukasey yesterday about waterboarding. I've been trying to get the video.. But Ted just flat out asks him "would waterboarding be torture if someone did it to you" And Ed Mukasey is kind of thrown back a bit and answers well yes or something to that effect. Great moment in political history if you ask me. I hope C&L can get it on video. Peace.
"AG Mukasey is as bad as Gonzo"
Gosh! No one could have seen THAT coming....
Orangutan. @ 22:
It's on CSPAN under "Recent Programs"
"Sen. Judiciary Cmte. Hearing on Justice Dept. Oversight (January 30, 2008)"
Mike @ 20:
I thought Princess Sparkle Ralphie was 100% pure. I guess he's just a whore like the rest, huh? Is the equation now Gore=Bush=Nader?
Rusty Shackleford @ 26:
You don't know what the hell you're talking about, do you?
Please tell me why an Independent taking money from a person who happens to be a Republican equals Democrats taking money from corporate executives who presided over corporations who either pleaded guilty or were convicted of antitrust, environmental, labor and other crimes.
VietVet8666 @ 5:
Well which is it? I'd like to know. Is suggesting gross negligence and covering up the gross negligence (like they've covered up everything else from torture and secret prisons to unconstitutional wiretaps) now an alternative theory right up there with Bush ordering WTC destroyed and the "no planes" theory? Does Bush get a free pass on the worst attack on American soil in the history of the country happening on his watch? Is blaming failure to act now the same thing as suggesting Bush ordered the attack himself? I get so sick of people like Willard "I don't have lobbyists running my campaign" Romney praising Bush for "keeping the country safe" when 3,000+ Americans died on his watch. Are we supposed to believe that were competent people running the FBI, like say Agent Coleen Rowley, under the direction of competent president, they couldn't have stopped the attack either? Some or all of it might have been thwarted had Rowley not been stonewalled by Washington.
Mike @ 27:
Sure, right after you explain how Bush=Gore.
Rusty Shackleford @ 29:
Nice try.
Maybe the folks at C&L can tell me why a citizen who happens to be a Republican is the same as a criminal corporation. Many Democrats support Ron Paul. Does that make him a fraud?
Mike @ 30:
No, he's a fraud for lots of other reasons.
Sorry you can't explain St. Ralph's fucked-up logic. Better luck next time
Rusty Shackleford @ 31:
I just did explain it. J.F.Christ.
Here, I'll type slower for you:
Nader was attacked for taking a contribution from Richard Egan, the ambassador to Ireland appointed by George Bush, for no reason except that he is a Republican, and was appointed by Bush. So what? He's a citizen who, as far as anyone knows, has commited no crimes. Maybe he believes in civil liberties. Or is against NAFTA.
Compare that to Democrats who, as I said, and you can't seem to understand, take money from corporate criminals.
There.
Need it explained again, or do I have to say it a 4th time?
Rusty Shackleford @ 31:
Mike @ 32:
You misread my post. I said explain Ralphie's contention that there was no difference between Bush and Gore (signified by the commonly-accepted shorthand of "Bush=Gore"). I'd love to hear why there's no difference.
And who are these "corporate criminals" who have you all a-twitter?
Mike @ 33:
Rusty Shackleford @ 34:
It's amazing. I specifically mentioned Pfizer and Chevron in the first post that you quoted.
And what does Bush and Gore have to do with this? The only issues I brought up was A) '00/'04 votes and B) Republican donations.
I don't have to answer your stupid red-herring questions about Bush and Gore. Find something else to do. You contribute nothing.
and don't wait for any more responses.
you have the brain of an infant.
Gee Mike, okay. I'd ask what crimes Pfizer and Chevron have been convicted of, and what possible relevance that has to anything, but you seem so far beyond angry that I'm afraid you'll hurt yourself.
The Bush=Gore question was, I thought, a pretty good one. I don't know how anybody in their right mind could possibly vote for somebody who said there was no difference between Al Gore and George W. Bush, because anybody who said that would have to be a total fucking idiot. Which I guess makes his supporters, well...
We disagree with Mike on Nader. Makes us "simpleminded." hmm...
Carl bernstein is on rampage against hillary clinton and i think it is unfair to go on a "political talk show" as an objective participant then rail savagely against one candidate in particular. He clearly has a personal agenda against hillary and should not be allowed to be on a legitimately objective talk show, although there are few left these days on any channel, cable or otherwise.

Nobody Asked Me, But: Special Hillary Haters Edition
Rusty Shackleford @ 38:
Hey maybe you could also point out that Halliburton and KBR haven't been convicted of any crimes so it's ok for politicians to take money from them too... as long as those politicians are Democrats. Just a suggestion.
