I'm disturbed by the reactions that allude to harming this person. The best thing that can be done is to reveal him for what he is. I believe many were successful in eliminating his sponsors several months ago. I would suggest that tactic rather than wishing harm on him.

Hell the whole radio AM broadcast system is hate radio. In Chicago both AM 560, 890 are broadcasting 24x7 for the last twenty years liberal hate. Even though there is no such thing.
From Limbaugh to the Hannity express they feel their end is near. We know if the Democrats get to the presidency the FCC will pull the plug. That with watching television shows like Tucker, or Chris Matthews I’m sick of it all. It all is a cancer in our society, the FCC should flush it all down.

to think that our local number 1 (ahem, scuse me, FORMER local number 1) station blew out a local talk show from 9p-12a that did well and replaced the local guy with this hack, an inflammatory unthinking individual that conservoideologues and am program managers love.
we do have a lot of africans who live in louisville and i'm sure that they aren't happy to have this hatemonger on the airwaves at night. but then again, the station has so declined in stature that i'm not even sure that anyone is even listening anymore.
reasons why media consolidation is bad: clear channel will buy your local stations and turn them into preprogrammed syndicated dreck that a monkey could operate the station. i have said it on the local boards, and i'll say it here: if there were other companies strong enough to challenge clear channel, stations won't sound the same all over and talk show hosts like savage wiener won't be able to grow as fast as they do.

For those of you who think that this kind of hate speach does not influence others, I just had an experience today where an idiot was frothing this kind of non-sense to me because he seem to believe I was one of them since I thought Ron Paul had some interesting ideas. This guy came into my house because I wanted to install an appliance in my house. I mentioned the Republic debate last night and how Ron Paul did not get a fair amount of time. The next thing I know, this guy is telling me that the illegal immigrant problem can be solved with mad cow disease and how even the tiger in the San Francisco Zoo hates gays.
As a gay person whose significant other is a naturalized citizen, he obviously did not make the sale. But what stood out to me was, one the wink and knod of I am one of you happened, all of the talk radio trash came spilling out. Talk radio definately had an influence on his thinking.
The reason that the Republicans are going to lose to the Democrats this year is because all they have is hate. It is certainly a sad state of affairs for them as they hate themselves into oblivion.
I aggree with other posters that it is more important that these people reveal who they really are, otherwise they will simply cloak their hate more deeply in something like bible verses.
One last comment, free speech is not truly free if the people we most detest to hear cannot speak. Free speech is for all, even the most loathsome.

In terms of pure professional skill, Michael Savage is one of a handful of elite talents in radio. Only a microscopically small number people in the broadcasting business can speak solo into a radio mic and consistently attract an audience of over 8 million. It is an exceedingly difficult task. Limbaugh, Hannity and Dr Laura are the only others who produce anything remotely close to his ratings. My respect for talent is absolute; it transcends political partisanship.
