Does anybody know that Romney won the Maine Caucuses?

Maybe my Cheney/Romney post helped him out.

Mitt Romney coasted to a win in presidential preference voting by Maine Republicans on Saturday, claiming his third victory in a caucus state and fourth overall. The former Massachusetts governor had 52 percent of the vote with 68 percent of the towns holding caucuses reporting. John McCain trailed with 21 percent, Ron Paul was third with 19 percent, and Mike Huckabee had 6 percent. Undecided votes accounted for 2 percent.

Yeah, amongst the hubbub about the Superbowl, I read that.

Wow, and Ron Paul beat out Mike Huckabee. I wonder if Fox will highlight that.

NY Giants win the Super Bowl!

Truly Equal:

No, they'll just report it as Romney 52%, McCain 21%, Huckabee 6%, Other 21%

NE Patriots lose the Superbowl

upset central this weekend.. McCain is a sour old vindictive fart..

I have not got that far in my reading today, so I was not aware of it. Do you find the results to be surprising, John? I live in WA State and do not know much about the politics in that part of the Country. It looks like Maine is close to neutral (from the voting demographic map), and Romney was governor just down the road.

Maine is an odd state. It can split its 4 electoral votes (and did so in 2004), has an independent governor, two republican senators, and two democratic Representatives. Also, is my home state :)

Heck, they'll say Guiliani got some votes as well. Can't wait for Chris Matthews to say Romney won this one.

No media coverage. It's OK, he's Mormon.

Romney has a snarky personality. He seemed downright menacing when he challenged the AP reporter. I can't stand how he wants to buy the presidency. It is totally unamerican! Remember the story how he traveled around the country with the family dog in a dog carrier on the top of the family station wagon? Or when asked why his sons didn't join the military he replied"Well they are helping me try to get elected, that is their service" What Balls! And now conservatives are choosing him over McCain. Which makes him even less appealing.

there are reasons romney won and you didn't hear about it.

It's not going to be a HUGE story, because the MSM have annointed Saint McClain as the REPUKES standard bearer...

Alright Giants... I love it... and can not stand Belichek, Moss and Brady... they deserve the loss just like the Repukes in 08!

This got coverage in the Boston area, radio and MSM, though it's easily overshadowed the Super-bowl coverage.
Maine has been a bastion of sensible Republicans (that term an oxymoron in most places), I'm surprised McCain did so badly. I guess party caucuses are decided by True Believers.

The last I heard, Rudy was at 2. Not 2%, 2 votes.

By the way, the number of absentee ballots cast for next week's Democratic caucus exceed the total GOP turnout for theirs.

Ummm, perhaps the question should be, "does anyone care that Romney won the Maine caucuses?"

I am sure no Romney fan but he sure is getting jobbed by the MSM

Is Maine still a state? I thought it blew up and that's what started the Spanish-American War.

It's not news unless the person the MSM wants wins.

Bill Hicks would have beaten Romney and McCain. Sadly he passed on in the mid-Nineties.

Poor bastard. And BTW Susan Eisenhower endorsed Obama too. Eisenhower was the last decent Republican president. You think the assclown Neocons could take a hint? Not likely.

All the money this fool is spending and in the end he will go back to heading his corporations if they are not bankrupt.

It appears most people do not in fact "remember the Maine [caucuses]." In fact, most appear not to have known about them in the first place in order to forget them.

Maine used to have an Independent governor (Angus King). The current governor, John Baldacci, is definitely a Democrat.

Couple of thoughts on Maine:
One, Ron Paul practically ties McCain.
Two, Thompson doubles Giuliani's delegate count.

Oh, and that rich Mormon guy won.

Looking at CNN election center, it appears that when Romney wins, he wins big.

Love to see Mittwit Robotney keep goin till he ain't rich off the backs of unemployed mergered workers no mo, but he won't. Then how will his kids serve the country?

Does anybody know that Romney won the Maine Caucuses? NO!!! Does anybody care? NO!!! New York Giants Win!!! New England Patriots Lose!!! All is so RIGHT in the world !

I couldn't help noticing there was only one "!" at the end. Did you finally smash the "1" key?

"Wow, and Ron Paul beat out Mike Huckabee. I wonder if Fox will highlight that."

Hell, at this point, I'd just settle for CNN letting him speak 5 continuous words.

Romney won the strawpoll.

How many delegates did he get?

Rumplestilskin?

With any luck Stephen King will write a horror story about this.

At least he is buying it with his own money and not money raised from corporations that he will owe something to if he gets elected. How many millions for McCain, Hillary, Obama, etc. are coming from the corporations? If Romney wants to bankrupt himself to not get elected that is his call based on our laws.

The only way to get rid of money is with real campaign finance reform and publicly funded campaigns without any other donations. I am personnaly outraged that more than $1 billion will be spent on this presidential election. What a waste of money not to mention the message that is sends to the rest of the free world.

Mitt wins another caucus??? Oh really... Hate to sound trite, but why should I even care?? He'll never get my vote... Anyway, isnt' that a bit like kissing your sister or winning pre-season football games???....JD

Maine did have an independent but that was years ago, the current fool is a democrap
but at least he's not a rethuglican!! Us independents in Maine take this seriously. Seems
to be a lot of Bush lovers and I can't understand why.... fool born every minute

And also happy the cheaters got stomped by the Giant DEFENSE, the real MVP's of the game!!!

I guess this is your first attempt at humor? Don't give up your day job because you suck
at standup... Come to Maine, we'll show you a good time. Take you up to Mattawaska and let you loose in the Maine woods, find your bones in July, just when the snow has finally melted and the ice goes out...
