Go, Good Man!
:)
Btw, Bush hates special needs children.
I rewrote the Declaration last July 4, 2007.

I hope everyone is voting today. I also hope your vote is counted.

"Other things I've read, however, suggest that Biggs advice may not be the best if the S really hits the fan. Sorry I don't have links, but I read this stuff a while ago. They suggest that having guns and being alone may just be an invitation to the "approaching brigands" to take your guns, along with your seed, fertilizer, women, etc. Much better, according to them, to be part of a larger community that can defend itself."
Creative Solution?
Hey, you know what ELSE is sexist?
1) Assuming that any and all criticism on the left of Clinton is based on her gender, and not her conservative leanings
2) Hillary's people planting questions regarding her wardrobe and appearance
3) Hillary herself crying at opportune moments in an attempt to appeal to voters
But no, let's all vote for Hillary just because she happens to be a woman. I guess it's supposedly better to be a tacit racist than a tacit sexist.
Some serious, fresh, post 20th century genius is going to have to emerge to get things back on track.
We've sunk into madness and don't even recognize it.
Lame-Duck Budget
The president claimed on Monday that his budget plan would put the country on the path to balancing the budget by 2012.
That is nonsense.

We've fell off the cliff last August.

When people down the line get to retirement age and discover they are only going to receive maybe 30% of the pension plans they were promised (if any at all) after a lifetime of work then maybe they will wake up.
Travis @ 7:
...or as I like to put it: if you're voting for Hillary just because she is a woman, why not just vote for Elizabeth Dole or Lynne Cheney?

I'm looking forward to the HUMONGOUS win for Hillary!
and suck on that MSM!!! You'll all be eating crow after Hillary takes the win and shows us all how a real President effects change and in a very good way!

I've been on quite a few "Hillary Supporter" websites, and always ask the same question. What experience does she have? There are lots of BS answers about how she was the one REALLY in charge during her husband's presidency, there were lots of BS answers about her 35 years experience (LOL, ya, ok) and there were lots of BS answers about her voting record (apparently every time she's went along with the Reps, the overwhelming response was "she's not the only Dem that voted that way"). No matter how you slice it, she has two terms as junior senator, being a corporate lawyer, and a First Lady reading storybooks to primary school children. But, look over there! Donuts........mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.........what were we talking about?
Travis @ 7
I couldn't agree more. The end of that long and exhausting aticle summed up the author's stance for me: "i'm voting for Hillary not because she is a woman, but because I am".
What the hell does that mean? It's such a bullshit reason to vote for someone.
As far as the 'experience' thing, like I told my husband last night, fucking the president didn't make you the president. She doesn't have any more 'real' expereince than her senate seat has given her.
DRUDGE BREAKING Hillary health scare
Fanon @ 19:
If having sex with Bill is her "real" experience, then I guess there will be a pile of women running in the upcoming elections? LOL!
Ryan @ 20:
She has a cold. Big deal. Americans should be scared of her healthcare proposals. You can't fix healthcare by forcing people to have insurance. Can't understand for the life of me, why the US can spend billions on military, but cry foul when anyone mentions taking that money and instead providing coverage to every living American. Oh the terrible thoughts of socialism, compared to a military economy.
the mentality of the american voters showing in thier reasons for voteing , i watched one woman at a voteing station being asked why she voted for clinton , well shes a woman and its about time we had a woman president, but the guy askes what she stand for, well shes a woman comes the answer , then i see them ask a black voter who he voted for , well i only decided at the last minute who to vote for and it was obama , well hes asked whys he worth voteing for , well hes black he replied, that says it all never mind these voters dont understand or even bothered to find out what thier vote was for or if the candidate will bring them any real change! i weep for america!
A lot of Hillary's suporters seem to think it comes down to the fact that she deserves to be president. She's had a lot of experience and she put up with Bill and she's a smart accomplished woman so she deserves to be president.
Well, fuck that.
No one "deserves" the nomination and "deserves" to be president. It's our vote and we will give it to whoever we choose, based on the positive things we think they can and will do while in office. It's not a seniority scheme where you put in a certain amount of time and work, then get promoted to president.
Mike, thanks for linking Cynics' Party ...
I've often thought of starting the Earl Butz party, with the platform "tight pussy, a loose pair of shoes, and a warm place to shit" With some slight additions for the ladies, this would be the greatest political platform of all time. You don't need a lot of policy wonks, just plenty of good sex, comfortable foot wear, and sanitary and comfortable bathrooms. Any party that could actually deliver these would sweep the country. I was an ag econ student in 76, and the slogan was "Vote Ford in 76 and save our Butz" Earl's only problem was he thought too small, these are universal goals, not just for one race.
I thought the Left Coaster article was provocative and interesting. I'm glad I read it. The one thing that jumped out at me, however, by the end, was this question:
Is it sexist to note that Hillary Clinton is one of the Democratic enablers of this criminal presidency? That she's been just as worthless in terms of getting the Senate to force Republicans to filibuster? Did she prevent Alito or Roberts from achieving their positions? Has she fought for real investigations of any of the hundreds of Bush Administration scandals?
No, no, no and no. She's been playing the bullshit bipartisan game the Dems have been playing since 2001 and since 2006: trying to hide in the corner and not rock the boat while the Republicans run this country into the fucking ground.
There are any of a hundred things Sen. Clinton could have done to call attention to, and thwart, the Republican Shit Machine. But she didn't do any of them. She just kept being a nice, polite, unremarkable Maj(Min)ority Party member.
(Obama may not have gotten much done in the Senate, either, in terms of giving the Republicans what they deserve... but, well, at least he hasn't been NOT doing it for as long!)
Most of the Left Coaster article seems to credit Hillary with "fighting for" people and ideas. Well, she finally got into the ring when she was elected to the Senate. How many punches has she landed since then? How many has she even thrown?
Hillary's career -- at least, her Senatorial one -- seems to me to be a study in 21st Century Compromise (defined as giving the Republicans whatever they want and then chastising them in exhaustingly dull and pointless language). Is that really who we want in the White House?
Oh, wait, I forgot: I'm sexist and I'm not voting for Hillary because she has a vagina. Never mind that, in my household, my mother was the smarter, more mature, more insightful, more emotionally available and understanding and helpful one of my parents. I'm sexist because I have a penis and I don't particularly care specifically for Hillary Clinton's record.)
Travis @ 7:
+1
It's hurts all member of a down-trodden group when the "biased-against-me" card is overplayed. That Left Coaster piece is extremely light on actual data. It's mostly a whine-fest.
Yes, some people don't like Clinton because of her sex and a double standard is sometimes used against her. Get past it or wallow in it. Your choice. But don't make it out to be either universal or the cause of all your problems. In short: grow up. Or, at a minimum, reread the serenity prayer.
Ah, those racist, sexist Dems are at it again! ;-)
Many years ago I had a friend whose first name was Dean. She had a temp admin job at a college one summer, and had to call the Dept of Agriculture to get some information. The person at DoA said someone would call her back.
A while later Earl Butz called to talk to "Dean" Smith (not her real last name).
Always thought that was cute.
