Laura Ingraham disses McCain at CPAC

Ingraham introduced Mitt Romney at CPAC today and wasted little time smacking McCain upside the head:

Ingraham: Of all the people introducing the three remaining candidates for President---I get to introduce the conservative. Mitt Romney is the conservative’s conservative. (cheers)

Oh, snap!

Update: Even FOX is reporting that Laura slammed McCain. It'll be interesting to see what type of reaction John gets later today from this crowd.

Matt Sanchez, ex-gay porn star, will be presenting at CPAC today also and he hates McCain.

Yeah! I'm looking forward to the day when Mitt crawls back from whence he came, never to be heard from again. Yeah right!

Just in time.

Romney just called it quits.

three remaining candidates

ooops.

Laura can't count..

..There's 4 Republican presidential candidates.

He's a disgusting, shameless political whore. Politicians can be slimy but Mitt takes the cake.

This has been another episode of "Republicans Eating Their Own"

I clicked the link. They won't let us watch? Why Not? :)

Funny then that Reuters is reporting that Romney is going to suspend his campaign:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080207/pl_nm/usa_politics_romney_dc_6

Could it be that a conservative's conservative doesn't have a place in the Republican Party anymore?

Because THEY know it's YOU !!
Big Republican Brother is watching YOU.

Well, since Romney just dropped out right after Laura introduced him, I'd say the entire field of McCain bashers and haters just got caught with their knickers down.

Gonna be fun to watch all the back-peddling these fools will have to do now, wonder if it will make Limbaugh's head explode?

Huckabee, McCain, whodathunkit?

Saint John better pray that he doesn't catch so much as the sniffles from here on in until the election, or else the veil might part and people will start to see him as the decrepit old man that he is, never mind that his Mom is over 95 years old.

heheheh.

Go Mike Huckabee!

:-)

So Ingraham is acknowledging what most rational observers would agree with, i.e. that Romney is more conservative than McCain. Big deal.

This is too good to be true!

the ONLY conservative in this horse-race is dropping out at CPAC !

it's beautiful!

So, we have the far right pundits slamming McCain and the Neocons over at the Weekly Standard trashing Huckabee and Ron Paul is treated like the man in the iron mask.

It will be interesting to see who the mormons vote for here in Idaho's GOP primary.

I'm not American or eligible to vote, but if Republican spinsters and talking heads hate McCain and love Hillary, then I would vote for McCain. Seems way too obvious.

IdahoMoe @ 15:

McCain just declared himself an evangelical mormon who follows Moses.

I've been listening to repubs basically holding Mittens' political funeral. Wow, to hear them talk, he couldn't have lost the nomination is he had stayed in. Didn't hear much of that talk before he was gone.

Now they are stuck with McCain and Huckabee. How pathetic is that? Yes, I know Ron Paul is still in the race in some form.

and Reagan and Jesus too.

Unless Laura was wearing her Leopard print skirt, who cares?

And with Mitt Romney's candidacy officially in the toilet, what will Kathryn Jean Lopez and Mark Levin do for independent sexual fulfillment????

Tragic, just tragic.

This is too funny ... I have heard that the Radio people, Igraham, Limbaugh, Savage etc. have all been going bullshit on McCain calling him all kinds of name. Can anyone give me a report of what they are saying now that Romney has decided to step out of the race?
Are they all whining? I wish had some way of getting some of those radio shows over here just to hear how they are whining.

To get the gist of it, replace conservative with fascist, like so:

Ingraham introduced Mitt Romney at CPAC today and wasted little time smacking McCain upside the head:

Ingraham: Of all the people introducing the three remaining candidates for President—I get to introduce the fascist. Mitt Romney is the fascist's fascist. (cheers)

I heard Rush briefly today. He said he is willing to support McCain "IF" McCain agrees to be a LEADER in the GOP and takes the initiative to unite the party. He doesn't think conservatives should rush over to McCain, McCain should do what he needs to do to lure them back.

Rush is cracking just a bit and Hannity will likely stop repeating his written talking points ad nauseam as he regurgitates McCain's record like a broken record.

What time is McCain speaking? I'd love to hear how it goes.

Because the Mormon candidate just quit......

Ingraham: "Romney is the conservative's conservative." That's why that fucking loser quit. And Laura, stop using Micheal Jackson's doctors to get your face worked on.

WARNING>>>>>WARNING

I don't buy any of this, all this is political positioning to make McCain look "moderate", knowing that many voters will chose the moderate over "those liberals who want socialized medicine"

We must continue to expose McCain's voting record, HE IS NO MODERATE or maverick, but one of the most right wing extremist in the senate.

Is that why Romney is losing?

Ingraham and Coulter doing the "scissor" ewwwww!

The real message.

If they paint McCain as the liberal or leaning left, they will be able to get more of the independant voters, especially if they are running against Hillary. Vote Obama.

This is bad for dems. Repugs will hold their nose's and rally around McBain. Dems need to settle their race soon or, they will weaken the party with all the infighting. Repugs will have all summer to get their game plan inline to win in Nov and bash dems. This is starting to look like elections of the past. Dems beat each other up,and repugs unify early, and win in Nov.

They "love" Hillary b/c they think that she's such a polarizing force that she could well push voters towards the repuke nominee.

Oh snap is right! LOL at McCave getting PWNED at the CPAC convention!!

It's a great day when you can watch all these Fascists insert millions of $$$ of their own money into their campaigns and not go anywhere. $$$ demand results. Losing money like that is a big stress maker for the family budget. Deserted by the corporations. Whats Fascism coming to? Could mean the economy is in worse shape than is thought if the corporations won't contribute enough to keep things going. I hear the lady candidate gave 5 mill. to her own campaign (said to be a loan).

THis morning, Angry-ham was just bashing Shepard Smith for going crazy at a former Gore advisor for a quip about Fox's partiality toward the GOP. He went nuts, on air, and she called him on it. Wait for the mud slinging to turn her way from the all BS network.

why can we just not like a certain politician based on their record and how they are going about the campaign?

many of us have a problem with how hillary cheerleaded on the war

i held my nose when i voted for kerry....not sure i can do that again

How exactly did Mittens become the conservative's conservative again? If I recall correctly, when he was the Governor of Massachusetts, he was supportive of abortion rights and signed a health law which forced all residents to buy health insurance or face higher income tax assessments. It was also under him that same sex civil unions came into being. Aren't these things that any right thinking neanderthal would die before accepting?

This will all be forgotten soon now that Romney is out of the race.

On what planet, exactly, was Romney a "conservative", or for that matter anything other than an opportunist?

Oh Laura, you minx...

I heard they had to ask the audience not to boo him.

McCain - they asked the audience not to boo McCain.

Well, then it's your job to make sure Obama is the nominee. I'm voting for the Democratic nominee because I believe the country won't survive another 4 years under a repug administration. Especially a bloodthirsty warmonger like McCrazy.

As for Canuck, he's said some tasteless things about Hillary that had nothing to do with her policies but were in respect to her gender. I and some other posters have picked up on this in other threads. This leads me to think it's personal.

She's not the nominee yet and the trend is definitely towards Obama (who I think would make a great president). If she does become the nominee, she gets my vote.

Funny thing is, McCain's voting record as Senator is conservative down the line.

He's a stalwart defender of military adventurism, US imperialism, rights for pre-born zygotes, Reaganism, Bushism, low taxes, the whole package. What's liberal about him, seriously? Other than the fact that years ago he said some less than respectful things about fundamentalists? This is a personality conflict, nothing more.

The sniping on the right is like the debates among medieval theologians about whether Christ will return to Earth during the day or at night, or if shit exists in heaven. Meanwhile, the pope's armies fought its wars, and the poor starved while the church hoarded its wealth.

Ideology has its uses, the primary one being to control the people and distract them from the real agenda of the rulers.

With any luck, the divide on the right will deepen and cripple them politically for years to come.

Gotta love watching the wheels falling off the GOP bus

Talk about putting lipstick on a pig. She's gone from super dike to uber wannabe lipstick dike. I laugh when she talks about this or that guy being 'hot'. My man gaydar is near perfect but my chick gaydar sucks but the first time I heard her speak I thought 'lesbian'. The first time I saw her that sealed it. Of course I could give a shit but you know the point I'm making: she's a raging dike but gay bashes.

This is just so deliciously hilarious! Scum infighting! I love it! I hope they all flush themselves down the proverbial crapper!

tell lara to get with the program, loyal bushies back mccain...

McCain Confirms It: A Vote for Him Is a Vote for a Third Bush Term

A BUZZFLASH NEWS ALERT
DNC Press

Washington, DC - During appearances on Fox News Sunday and CBS's Face the Nation, John McCain made it clear: a vote for him is a vote for a third Bush term. Echoing his earlier statement that we could be in Iraq for 100 years, he said again that he would continue Bush's never ending civil war in Iraq. "We have to take care of the world's security," McCain said.

"The choice between the Democrats and Republicans couldn't be more clear. A vote for John McCain is a vote for a third Bush term with a never ending war in Iraq and an economy that favors those at the top. A vote for a Democrat is a vote to bring our troops home from Iraq, for an economy that works for all Americans, and a return to America's priorities," said Democratic National Committee Press Secretary Stacie Paxton.

McCain: A Third Bush Term
"They want to have the government run the health care system in America. I want the private sector to do it. On the issue of national security policy, there are very sharp differences... They want to withdraw from Iraq and if we do that al Qaeda wins." [Face the Nation, 2/3/2008]

"I have a strong conservative record and I'm proud of that record and I also believe on the national security side it's going to be a clear difference between me and Senator Clinton or Senator Obama. A clear difference on whether we're going to increase spending or decrease spending, increase taxes or decrease taxes, whether we're going to withdraw from Iraq or we're going to see this thing through to the success." [Fox News Sunday, 2/3/2008]

McCain's 100 Year War in Iraq: "We have to take care of the world's security"
"...This strategy is succeeding. Ad I believe that if we had set a date for withdrawal or if we do set a date for withdrawal, al Qaeda will then win and we'll see chaos and genocide in the region. That's another significant difference that Senator Clinton and I have...and I look forward to discussing it. It's not a matter of how long Americans stay. It's a matter of American casualties. And those casualties are coming down and we can eliminate them. Look, we're in Kuwait right next door to Iraq. We're in turkey. We're in Bosnia. We're all over the world. One of the obligations, unfortunately, of being a great superpower is that we have to take care of the world's security." [Fox News Sunday, 2/3/2008]

McCain: More of the Same Bush Supreme Court
"I would appoint justices such as the ones I've strongly supported and gotten through the Senate with the help of many others or help along with others. Only those who strictly interpret the constitution of the United States and do not legislate from the bench... If you have justices that have a clear, conservative, a clear, strict interpretation of the constitution of the United States, then you don't have to worry about what their decisions will be." [Fox News Sunday, 2/3/2008]

McCain Skipped Stimulus Vote, Other Senators On His Plane Returned To The Floor In Time

Yesterday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) skipped the Senate’s vote on the economic stimulus package, which fell just one vote short of the 60 needed to end debate.
On the stump, McCain has repeatedly claimed that passing a package was a priority for him. Yet his missed vote yesterday was not an accident due to a late flight or scheduling conflict. It was deliberate. Some evidence:
1. He was already thinking about skipping the vote yesterday afternoon. Yesterday afternoon, hours before the vote, he hinted to reporters that he might not return to the Senate that evening. “I haven’t had a chance to talk about it at all, have not had the opportunity to, even,” McCain said. “We’ve just been too busy, focused on other stuff. I don’t know if I’m doing that.”
2. His plane landed in DC with plenty of time to make the vote. McCain’s plane landed at Dulles Airport at 5:00 p.m., “leaving plenty of time to make the 5:45 p.m. make or break procedural vote.”
3. The other senators on his plane returned for the vote. ThinkProgress has confirmed with Sen. Joe Lieberman’s (I-CT) office that both he and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) were on the same plane with McCain. Yet both Lieberman and Graham returned to the Senate in time to cast votes. (Lieberman voted for the stimulus, Graham voted against.)
McCain’s move was certainly not a profile in courage. His spokeswoman said that the senator would have voted against the package anyway. By missing the vote, however, he didn’t have to go on record denying benefits to 20 million seniors and 250,000 disabled vets — both key blocs of support for his campaign.
As ABC’s Jake Tapper notes, “In fact, in the 110th Congress, out of 450 votes, McCain missed 56.7% of them. The only one who missed more was a senator who had a brain hemmorhage.”
Digg It!
