Sunday Morning Bobblehead Thread

Strong Language Advisory

George Bush is making a trip into friendly territory on Fox News Sunday (but his "Brain" will be on Face The Nation--odd, that) and the Democratic campaigns have sent out their surrogates on the other shows.   A week of accusation over counter-accusation, I'm sure...

ABC's "This Week" - Govs. Tim Kaine, D-Va., and Martin O'Malley, D-Md.; Rep. Tom Davis, R-Va.; former Rep. Tom DeLay, R-Texas.

CBS' "Face the Nation" - Former Gov. Mike Huckabee, R-Ark.; Joe Trippi, former John Edwards campaign adviser; Karl Rove, former deputy chief of staff to President Bush.

NBC's "Meet the Press" - Huckabee.

CNN's "Late Edition" - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio; former Secretary of State Colin Powell, Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., and Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J.

"Fox News Sunday" - President Bush.

"Chris Matthews Show" - Panel Katty Kay, Patrick Healy, Ron Allen, Anne Kornblut;  Topics: Obama has momentum -- can he pull away from Hillary?  Would conservative activists prefer a Democrat to John McCain as president?

Tell us what's catching your eye this morning.

This afternoon we are going orchid shopping at an orchid show. That's really all I want to think about on this cool sunny Sunday morning. Oh yeah, and I'm lovin' the Obama wins yesterday.

Good morning everyone!

That clip would be an apt metaphor for the Bush Adminisration............the clown are running the circus.

Will O'Bama wear his green on St. Paddys Day ?

Why the frak is that criminal Tom Delay commenting anywhere except from behind bars?

Yep, more RIght-Wing World on the Sunday talkies.

Can you imagine having those screeching chickenhawks Limbaugh, Coulter, Beck, Hannity, etc. picking at your bones before your even dead like McCain? Sure you can if you're progressive. McCain and his supporters get a taste of the disingenuous bile stew the right-wing whackos have been serving up toward those on the left. I trust it's a bitter pill to swallow John McCain. And yet, the Rethinkagains have used those talking heads to their advantage for years now. So now the squawking chickens come home to roost.

I think Russert should do a round table with McCain, Limbaugh, Coulter, Beck, Hannity and Brit Hume. McCain would have to decline of course as he doesn't believe in torture.

#off topic, but the timestamp says 5:10am.

Are you guys really up that early on a Sunday or is the C&S server in a different time zone than Steve and Nicolle :p

The "Decider" must be feeling insignificant if he has to appear on Fox News this morning. Who really gives a rip what this fool has to say. For 7 years, he was the focal point of the nation. Now all the attention is focused on the Presidential primaries and not him.

What's with bringing back Tom Delay. He is insignificant, too. The Republicans have nothing but old has been re-runs. They are so very boring. The only movement happening for them is in the morning after breakfast.

Can you start using "The Huckster", "The Huck" or some variant in your posts?

Jeebus, make it stop....MORE TEARS!

Have you all forgotten about 9/11? If not, then what happened to the hunt for the 9/11 conspirator Osama Bin Laden and the U.S. Military Grade Anthrax Terrorist? Are they in Iraq? What the **** happened to this country. The dark cloud of cognitive dissonance hangs heavy over the U.S. Homeland, especially here on Crooks and Liars where we aren't ever allowed to discuss that thing (9/11) that must not be mentioned. “Fox News Sunday” - President Bush.

Again? Is Bushie's ass not getting chapped with all the kissing Rupert Murdick has done to it? Memo to Faux News: He is not, was not and never will be, the greatest Prez in US history regardless how you try to spin it. The man is a loser. Has been all his life, and it never changed in the last 8 years. Everything he touches turns to crap.

I am watching Bush- I hope some lawyers are watching- he is explaining why it is legal to torture and spy on citizens...while blinking frantically, then mugging for the camera- as a nurse - there are some real stability questions- and one second he is pleasent and the next he is agitated...( it is not the normal foxy lovefest)

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23056355/ this also cought my eye.How this admin can call themselves patriotic...is beyond me.

What a list of talking fools we have to look forward to. No wonder I never watch any of that shit.

with all sincerity, the best thing you can do is NOT WATCH these useless shows.

►I have a good question :::

Does the American public have any idea how the government, in giving this coming tax-rebate stimulus package will help when the money they will be giving the American people will be borrowed money that the American people will have to pay back plus interest?

Sounds to me like it can do nothing but stimulate out of country economies since nothing is made in the U.S. anymore.

Any ideas on this point?

What is catching my eye this morning is that something seems to be happening with veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. I just read this morning that another soldier was convicted of murder of an Iraqi and faces life in prison for his crime. His lawyers had stated that the soldier was sleep deprived and suffers from PTSD. I'm seeing that a lot. Its almost as if PTSD is being used more and more by military lawyers as an excuse to get their clients off. This is not a good trend to be starting if that is the case. Anyone that commits a crime will start using PTSD as their excuse. Robbed a bank? Just claim you have PTSD. Sex offender? Just claim you have PTSD. In fact, I bet the courts don't even require proof that the veteran or anyone else for that matter suffers from PTSD. Now I'm a veteran myself and all I think that if PTSD is used enough then the vets that really have severe cases of PTSD will not be taken seriously.

Same thing happened after Vietnam. More homeless people (with handicaps) more drug use (including alcohol), more violent crimes, more spousal beatings and murders.
Once you train men to kill and set them about doing it, one they live the horror ... how can they come back normal?

Thats a good point. The problem is, PTSD is the very first thing the lawyers claim on their clients behalf. My point is, how is it known that the veteran actually suffers from PTSD? I mean, a service person stationed in Kuwait his/her whole time as an Administrative clerk can claim PTSD just as easily eventhough a verifiable documentation does not exist.

I'm watching the Tyrant on Fox "News" Sunday. This SOB should be brought to justice. Yeah I'm talking about Barbara Bush. He slags on Obama for wanting to attack Pakistan to hunt down Osama. What a Fing Moron! What a idiot. regards

I say:

Yes, I've wondered about that more than once. Why is it that 9/11 is a non-topic here, or anywhere else for that matter. I mean, that's the reason we're here, isn't it? At C & L, that is. WTF?

If not for that event, we wouldn't be bitching about the war, the economy, the trashed Constitution and Habeas Corpus, the new world order and the generally sad state of affairs in the world today.

Truth first, then justice.

Site Monitor: The discussion about 9/11 alternative theories is not allowed on this site because the site owner was tired of every thread being hijacked by those who needed to abuse others--particularly the site owner--who didn't buy their particular theory. No other discussion could take place because EVERY thread was hijacked. And Post American knows that.

There are plenty of sites that do allow that discussion and Post American knows that as well. It is incredibly rude and dismissive of the siteowner's wishes to come on to a private website and complain incessantly that the subject you want covered isn't covered.

Ahhh, there! That felt good. Much better now, thank you.

Whats catching my eye this morning? That Tom DeLay is on ABC. Is there no standards of conduct that makes one an appropriate guest?

What happened is, the fear generated by the terrorists and our very own Government does not have the effect it once did on most of the American people now. Terrorism is and always be present in various forms and always will be. Hell, Julius Ceesar used a form of terrorism himself when he ruled Rome.

Freejack! I highly recommend the RED pill this morning.

Post Americans and I like reallity better than fantasy. Even the painfull part of reallity is better than living in denial.

It is weird watching the Tyrant smiling and blinking about questions about torture. Wasn't it just yesterday that Torture was bad when our former ally Saddam did it.

Iran signed the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty, that gives them the right to enrich uranium. Iran isn't a threat. The US/Israel is a threat. Bush is a 'threat'!

Joe O, if the Military/Government/Media have failed to protect our freedoms, our liberty, then so has the Democratic Party, so has the "Anti War" movement.

All I'm saying is that there is something terribly terribly wrong with this country. I don't know what it is, but when I drive around and see the faded yellow magnets, the shredded flags, the Bush/Cheney-Kerry Edwards stickers I can feel it. The local news media no longer reports on the 'War' in Iraq, not even when US Troops are killed. It just blows my mind. Nothing to see here, Freedom isn't Free. regards

Well, I have to give DeLay some credit, he's a good talker. I can see how he has managed to survive to be seen on morning talk shows. And I completely agree with what he said the Stephanopolous, which was that the "Left" has a political coalition like nothing "I've ever seen before" and that it will "carry into Nov." and that the GOP "has nothing like it"

Yea, boyyyyyy, we can agree on that

What's catching my eye this morning? The fact that yesterday we had over two inches of snow in PA - no big deal.

But last night we had a thunderstorm and fog as temperatures rose to around 40.

And this morning the fog seems to have frozen all over everything. So in about 24 hours we went from winter to spring to deep winter.

I know global warming isn't trendy to discuss these days, what with all the other important stuff going on. But this has been a strange winter so far - its the severity of the storms and the extreme changes that have me worried.

So ABC's "round table" is Will, Donaldson, Donna Brazille and Byron York of the National Review.

Shouldnt this lineup be on FOX?

As for Al Gore, he has been paid to stay in hiding until the election is over. Just in case.

Come in Number 51, Your Time Is Up

What's catching my eye this morning? Reruns of Password Plus from the 80s. Has a lot more kitsch value, and is just about equally consequential, since the only people watching those shows will be folks who have political blog sites.

Karl ROVE? Tom DeLAY? Who the frick CARES?

Chelsea and Liverpool on right now. Arsenal has Blackburn Rovers tomorrow. The rest of this is horse hockey.

Watching ABC television and George Will defining that anyone who wins in the Mississippi Valley wins the Presidency. So, one can conclude from those parameters while going, East and West, at the same time is most likely that area Republicans hold as a corruptible advantage in the elections. They don’t vote more than once, Republicans proved to use the Judicial muggers and let the Supreme Court duck tape the voting records shut.

George Will the Republican political intellectual that is nothing more than a garbage collector that trashes the Democrats, especially the Clintons. Here, with Karol Rove as his driver waving his hand held marques, with columns numbered and labeled with mumbo jumbo pole numbers that show what ever happens McCain wins.

Likely all the analysis is backed up in the Political Fix with Chris Matthews Hardball show that really has for years and compliments from special guest star Andrea Mitchell, Privy to and, wife of long time money master Allen Greenspan Federal Reserve Chairman and, the heavy weight stock market bag man. In the quasi government style dedicated to profits for Rockefeller and the Arab Wahabbi Bin Laden family stabilize the market when as the crooks and liars bail out and short selling is so obvious all the regulars call it a bounce and market is in a rebound. Sean Hannity happily declaring a rally for the Bush legacy.

The Republicans look so ridiculous they have to use every sophist ideal as politicians whom they trained were to persuade the multitude of whatever they wished them to believed. Know the chaos, and the morass that is as turbid as an almost instant poison toward good cultural development, but America is not getting that good thing. Just out and little talked about is Colin Powell’s son as FCC Chairman who in my opinion was most disappointing to absolutely disgusting. Michael K. Powell, in my opinion totally abused and ignores the disgusting black hate wrap music now perverting America’s streets that developed a music ghetto spectrum spreading across America faster than any real-estate meltdown. Loud cursive hate black wrap encouraging drugs, rape, murder, sex, violence and a jailed economy.

Here, Obama made the statement in his book called “Audacity of Hope” to just let it play out. Let Black wrap make it evolution? America the ghettos of real-estate are bad enough but the ghettos of the mind are some of the most important part of America that needs Change We Can Believe In.

Naturally, Wallace didn't bother to ask Bush for examples of these phantom thwarted attacked waterboarding supposedly helped stop.

Bush went on to defend the use of tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans as "job creators"... but the fact there is absolutely NO evidence to support that belief is irrelevant. "We had a record 52 months of uninterrupted job growth"... some of the most anemic, paltry job growth in history. And the only reason job growth under Clinton wasn't longer is because his presidency ENDED. It took longer to re-start job growth after taking over from Bush-41.

On Conservative critics of his presidency, namely Peggy Noonan, Bush defended his record as "History hasn't be written yet, and it could take 100 years". Funny, not so longago, I remember him saying how unimportant the verdict of history is: "We'll all be dead (by then)."

It amazes me that these people can continue to hold beliefs that we have LIVING PROOF is dead wrong, but that doesn't stop them from continuing to forward their ideology.

Media Blues

Being honest, I am a little sadden by the Hillary Clinton blowout yesterday. That being said it should not subtract from my argument toward the media. I am totally wore out from seeing every political subject on the cable TV end in a Clinton bashing session. It appears this very reality has become a debate. It's not to me. I see an injustice being carried out on a grand scale and in defense of their actions, the right-wing media and the Barack Obama supporters claim that is not what is happening. No thanks, I see undue media influence that has already affected the Democratic primaries.

I know Barack Obama is surging in the polls, but can anyone say his surge has not had the help from the likes of Chris Matthews, David Shuster, Wolf Blitzer and the countless special commentators? It now is so bad I can't watch another rant, unfair analysis, slanted poll, or any weekly attack that is excused with a "I am sorry but I didn't mean to hurt anyone feelings."The quote was directed at David Shuster, who made the charge Hillary was pimping her daughter. Yes, it has come down to attacks on her child. In a lot of ways I failed to see what was so bad about Bill Clinton's campaign content. If they were trying to remove him from the Hillary's arsenal, it only had partial success. That is Hillary's husband just like Chelsy is her daughter; you would expect for them to campaign for her. The media calls their contribution everything but help.

My point is this: The media should not be involved in who we choose as president, Democrat or Republican. Yet, at every turn, they seem to push, promote and in affect, campaign for who they want to see in the White House. The media is supposed to report on how the campaign is coming along not create what is going to happen. They are so out of line.

Joseph

Bobbleheads?

WTF is this? I guess I am out of touch since I don't watch FOX anymore.

Their show sure has gotten dumb!

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is a waste of time and she sucks as the Speaker of the House and so too does Rahm Emanuel and Steny Hoyer all suck in their leadership positions.

76 Mr. XXXX

Pelosi, Emanuel and Reid are from the 'promise them everything, but don't deliver' school of politics. I'd say the democrats need to revamp their half hearted selections. And the superdelegates concept has to be trashed. Ethically wrong.
