It's going to get ugly the closer we get to November

The RNC is offering a chance to send e-cards to loved ones this Valentine's Day, including this charmer:

Good to know that enabling the worst administration ever and causing the destruction of millions of lives as well as our standing globally doesn't prevent them from being as mean-spirited and small as they've ever been.

How these people sleep at night, I'll never know.

RepublicQueda!

Mean spiritedness is a conservative's most obvious character defect. It's closely followed by the inability to tell the truth.

How did compassion (isn't that what bleeding heart means?) come to be a negative thing?

I love what I heard Garofalo (sp?) saying on air america once..

"Being a republican means you can be an a$$hole while simultaneously claiming the moral high ground."

Ain't it the truth?

just makes them look like complete assholes, which is fine with me, because they are.

Whoa.

That's going to come back to bite them.

It's the Repug's Dukakis-in-a-tank moment. Sweet.

Not to mention McCain's vicious Chelsea joke, which brings out the swine in him and is now making the rounds (though he said it in 1998)

Republicans don't sleep...they retire to their crypts...and their coffins with built-in tanning lamps...

It's really not even funny. It lacks all subtlety.

"How these people sleep at night, I’ll never know."
Big pharma gives them every thing they need!

If Repubs couldn't be hateful , deceitful and mean spirited , , , they'd have have NOTHING left !

I'm certain some cretins will giggle when they get one of these...must be strange to live in that world.

How these people sleep at night, I’ll never know.

I beat ya by a min.

I looked at another on RNCs site. It's Hillary and the caption is" If I could rearrange the alphabet, I'd put T and AX together." How lame is that?

They sleep very well actually. Warm homes with full bellies and no sounds of bombs going off in the background. That's how they sleep. The same way the majority of the general public in the United States sleep. That's why nothing has changed and there STILL remains zero accountability almost 8 years later.

They're the jebus party so they don't have to be nice. They just pretend to pray to their imaginary friend or drop a c note into the collection plate and all is well again. Poof. No need to make amends or apologize or do anything positive. Just pretend the imaginary fairy you pray to made a special karma adjustment for you and move on. And that's only if they decide they might have done something wrong in the first place.

Being concerned for little things like human suffering and global destruction would require a conscience and a soul. Things reslugs have yet to acquire in any hostile takeover.

LOL! These are the people Obama says he can work with to solve our problems.

Zombies don't sleep

Compared to that, "I Choo-Choo-Choose You" sheer literary genius.

How they sleep at night?

Eyes wide open, hands clutching a shotgun in fear of scary-brown people invading their homes all the while secretly wondering what butt-sex is actually like.

I find myself tempted to send them a card signed Larry Craig.

And it will all backfire. People no longer by this pathetic BS. Oh the Freepers/knuckle-draggers will but the 75% that are human beings will see it for what it is . . . the last desperate gasp of a dying movement as sinister as Nazism.

Ugly? the Repugs are always ugly, no matter who they are running against. Remember the Cleland ad where they morphed his face into Osama's? Remember when they said McCain had a Black Baby (oh no!)?

it doesn't matter who any Republican runs against, even another Republican, they always play dirty, they always cheat, it's the only way they can win. And they know that not a single Republican will come out and defend a Democrat's right to vote and that not one member of their own party has a set of balls big enough to take on the corruption that now defines the Republican party!

I don't believe many people are buying this RNC crap any more. The real danger isn't attacks on the Dems from a "Republican" point of view, it's the successful infiltration of conservatives into the Democratic Party itself - especially into its leadership.

Glad we're not Republicans... we'd have to get mad at one another and it would probably get ugly! :)

Obama should send that out himself. He is an attractive liberal and he cares about people. These Repugs are so tired.

Remember the half hour comedy hour? Lamest thing ever.

You know how to tell when you are right? When you understand why your opponent believes what they do, you can pick apart their logic and find the fallacies, but they can't do the same in return.

I just a nasty email from my boss for no reason, so repukes are especially distasteful right now.

The ones about Hillary are really unfair- there's a big difference between a tax hike and a fine assessed for non participation in a mandatory program.

It's going to get even uglier between the Clintonistas and Obamamites before this is all over...

And should this election be decided by superdelegates for either Clinton or Obama, it will get very ugly for the DNC

The Bush/Cheney valentine card reads "My compassionate conservative heart says "fu*k you."

That was easy.

he said it when chelsea was 18, which makes it even more pathetic. a 60 year old man making fun of a teenage girl's appearance?

Maybe it won't get ugly. Maybe it will simply be a tough race.

Ugliness benefits only Karl Rove.

You know its actually quite funny, it's like showing that Obama has the compassion to still take a moment to care about republicans, with a liberal dosage of heart felt love :)

backfire complete, wtg :)

On C-span today they were on saying Barack is a radical muslim...several of them.

If Barack gets nominated, the repugs will turn him into Stepandfetchit...

they will turn him into a character from Amos and Andy...

They'll have the country thinking Barrack Hussein Osama is the love child of BinLaden and Saddam. Why I can see them putting a turbin on his head and a beard on his chin in a campaign ad right now. And don't say Americans are too smart to fall for that because they voted for Bush twice with the same transparent attacks on Bush's opponents.

Exactly, and every 'outraged' progressive who supports Billary or Senator 'SnakeOil' needs to look in the mirror and ask themselves, 'What will I do if the U.S. is still murdering Iraqis and Afghanis in
2009?

'Cause folks that's what you're signing on for if you vote for either of these.

The ability to understand Subtiety is not a good RePUG feature, It just does not work well for them. It means the ability to think things out, thats hard for them to do.

Did you know that most Repug comedians, have to do chart their punchlines, and leave extra time in between jokes so folkes can take the extra laugh time. it's true!

Conservatives, many of whom claim to be religious, seem to be ignorant of the fact that the bleeding heart they so disparage has its origin as a symbol of Jesus Christ, who was pierced in the heart by a spear during the crucifiction (others claim he was pierced in the side). This makes Jesus the original bleeding heart liberal. It's amazing, the religious trivia that you learn with a Catholic school education!

Oops. How did I do that?

If Obama can handle the smears coming from Clinton supporters these days, he can take on the Republicans.

If that's the best they can come up with against Obama, they don't stand a chance against him come November.

I'm sure they'll sleep just fine....that happens when you don't have a conscience.

Snowball @ 59:

If Obama can handle the smears coming from Clinton supporters these days, he can take on the Republicans.

You're kidding right?

seth @ 3:

How did compassion (isn't that what bleeding heart means?) come to be a negative thing?

Never mind that, when did a term like "liberal" which comes from "liberty" become a dirty word? Are the conservatives claiming that by implication liberty is a bad thing?

How they get away with their BS framing is mind blowing sometimes.

The party of no good ideas, thinks this is funny... leave comedy to the professionals.

Unsubtle, but I smirked anyway, and I'm a Barack supporter. But ugly? Mean-spirited? Jeez, take a breath already. It's just a lame joke.

You really can't blame the RNC for attempting to degrade Barack and Hillary. After all, they are a threat to all the "peace and prosperity" that we've enjoyed under the
chimpy administration...

Between those world class hate mongers on the right and the Hillary loving, jealousy driven, (some being closet bigots) on the progressive side, Obama is in for an ordeal that will make what Jackie Robinson went through seem like a picnic. I know I'll get slammed for this but baseball was just a game, Presidential politics is a serious fight to the end. At least this experience will expose to the world our nation's underlining race hatred problem.

And this is supposed to be a insult? I thought being liberal a caring for people was a good thing. Obama should use this card on valentine's day too!

anyone who accuses anyone else of being a "bleeding heart" is simply a sociopathic freak... it doesn't get any simpler or clearer than that... and if they claim to be devout followers of religion, then they're also hypocrites... and since that seems to be the over-riding characteristic of the rethugs, it's really not a surprise that they've got such a long list of criminal indictments...

also, for the obama supporters, this is only the beginning... and they will make mincemeat out of him during the campaign... why?... you might ask... well, for the same reason his campaign has been as successful as it has to date, too many people vote with their emotions and not their logic... imho, you people should be thinking longer term... ie: 16 years of democratic party rule... clinton for the first two terms and obama for the second... maybe by then, the rethugs will have cleaned house enough... and perhaps by then as well, the democratic party will need a kick in what would likely become a complacent ass... since no one is immune to the corruption that power brings...

as far as sleeping problems go, one would need a conscience to be bothered by their hate-filled behaviours.... no one should be surprised by such a smear...

Snowball @ 59:

If Obama can handle the smears coming from Clinton supporters these days, he can take on the Republicans.

puh-leeze... that's exactly the same form of delusional and revisionist logic that bush and co have been employing all along... hillary's been beat up by the rethugs for over 35 years now... and the msm has never given her any of the same fawning and unscrutinized attention that obama's been getting... let alone the clearly misrepresented smear you've just offered up against her while shilling for obama.... for the record though, i don't expect you to discuss this issue in any detail because, like you did yesterday and just like the rethugs have been doing for decades, you smear and run.... shill much?... lol, you accused me of that yesterday too.... hypocrite.

Article to run in the Tuesday NY Times Clinton camp worried nomination may be slipping away.

This posting of a flattering portrait of Barrack Obama is NOTHING but a veiled (and all too obvious) attempt to mollify the political correctness fetishists and Obama fanatics that were upset by the Rall toon!!! Where's the glam shot of Hillary? And you call yourself fair and balanced!!!!! You're misogynistic streak needs a touch up, Nicole - your "Roots" are showing.!!!!!!

I like that card. The Obama campaign should steal this idea and make similar ones for supporters.

Considering the source I was expecting it to say something like "I couldn't afford chocolates so heres a picture of Barack Obama"

Hi krunk!

Yep, you're right, the Republicans and their lapdog Corporate Media (oh that's right, you don't believe corporations have a political agenda) ruthlessly hounded and smeared the Clintons for well over a decade. Even when Bill Clinton gave the Corporate Media the great gist of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 they still went after him. They'll do it to any and every Democrat unless they're a useful foil like Lieberman used to be. Why do you think CNN keeps bringing up Obama's middle name and repeating false narratives about him attending a maddrassa?

It's sad that Clinton supporters such as yourself have decided to go after your own party using the same dishonest smear tactics. Far be it that you should be pressed to offer up anything substantive more than Obama supporters are irrational because they're enthusiastic.

I'd be embarrassed to vote for a party that actually thinks this sort of promotion is a good idea. That's the sort of thing a poorly behaved child would do.

here, let me use the same strategy you do and draw conclusions about you based on nothing more than subjectivity... you voted for bush in the last two elections and now you're embarrassed by that stupidity...

try again... this time... try to stick with facts, not mindlessly manufactured smears... hypocrite.... and stop acting like karl rove... you only prove my original contention that obama supporters are as irrationally scary as bush supporters...

My dear krunk,

I can see that large blue blood vessel pulsating in the middle of your forehead right now about to burst. Don't have an aneurysm, we need your vote in the general elections.

Love,

Snowball @ 75:

Why do you think CNN keeps bringing up Obama's middle name and repeating false narratives about him attending a maddrassa?

puh-leeze... wutta nuther load of crap... i've been watching cnn pretty solidly during these primaries and obama's middle name hasn't been mentioned in months... and as far as his attending a madrassa is concerned, they've never smeared him with it...

but, thanks for proving that you, as an obama supporter is willing to distort the truth in order to defend your messiah... which makes you no different or no better than the idiots who still support the neocon agenda... only scarier because you sincerely believe your own lies...

btw... complaining about the msm whilst quoting them to support your conclusions is not only hypocrisy, it's also irrationality in its most convoluted form... for the record, if you want to whine about the msm, then you really shouldn't quote their talking points to support your position... try to exercise your brain a little more and derive your own original conclusions for a change... otherwise, you only come across as a repuglican in drag...

Heh, I've said before, in terms of domestic policy, there's little difference between Obama and Clinton. Their advisers all come from the same Third Way school. For that reason, I'm not overly excited about either. What I am excited about is this date: 1/20/09 The Bush regime's last day in office.

Wanna keep goin? I can go all nite (she likes that about me too).

Democrats have to be ready to fight dirty too if we have to, especially with a madman like McInsane.

ok,Snowball and klunk..............if the nominee is not the candidate you're for.
Will you still vote for the Nominee come Nov.?

Really the infighting between Hillary and Obama supporters needs to stop NOW. You people are starting to sound like the republicans you claim to dislike so much. I support Obama, I have a lot of problems with Hillary and I frankly dont think she is electable. But that wont stop me from supporting her 100% if she were to get the nomination. Think about it and enough with the divisive bullshit.

Heh, of course there is no such animal as the "Liberal Media" only corporate. Who ever heard of a Liberal corporation? What would its financial motivations be? It makes no sense, and you, my dear krunk, are quite the humorless one.

You bet mudshark. If you've followed my posts before, the next election is all about who gets to make the next Supreme Court appointments. Anyone who thinks a campaign against Corporate Media darling John "war hero, straight-talking, moderate maverick" McCain won't be an uphill struggle is delusional and out of touch. Whoever wins the Democratic nomination it's going to be a tough fight. Don't underestimate the synthesis between the Republican party and the Corporate Media as well as the gullibility and low information of the average American voter. We did that in 2000 and 2004, we can't afford to do it again. While McCain's image as the "straight-talking, moderate maverick" is completely false, it's been repeated and hammered home so many times by the Corporate Media the public believes it. It's a technique masterminded by the NAZIs called The Big Lie. As GWB says: "In my line of work you gotta keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kinda catapult the propaganda." (May 24, 2005)

hmmm... how exactly do you reconcile slamming the msm with the "liberal media" label whilst concluding they have a synthesis with the repuglican party?.... your logic is clearly neo-con in nature and your conclusions are as contradictory as theirs... tell the truth now, since you avoided addressing it before... you really are embarrassed that you voted for bush in the last two elections... and you really are a disenfranchised rethug... otherwise, you would actually examine the issues, not spout fear-mongering platitudes fed to you by the (liberal?... or sythethic-neocon?) msm... you would not have resorted to childish smears in your replies otherwise...

How one of the US's main political parties can stop to such juvenility is beyond me.

Until I remember it's the GOP.

time to hug it out, bitches. you're all going to need to be friends again in a few months. don't forget that. try leveling some fire at mccain instead of at each others' candidates. gracias.

It all started like this when klunk insinuated Obama supporters were cultists and "as scary as Bush." If that not ad hominen, I don't know what is.

Hill is corporate America.
Barack is populist America.

if that were true, then why is obama's support coming from the affluent whereas hillary's is coming from the middle class?...

the people whom evangelize obama are as scary as those who still support bush...

Because the better educated are also better informed.

ok,Snowball and klunk..............if the nominee is not the candidate you're for.
Will you still vote for the Nominee come Nov.?

that question belies an uncertainty about the upcoming election... there should be no doubt that the dems will win by a huge landslide... and if they don't, then you people deserve more rethug corruption... which should also be a clue as to where i would vote... to answer plainly and simply, i'm not a resident of your country... so, no... i won't be voting for either... which means, i'm also not as emotionally invested in either of your candidates... my emotional responses are limited to the blind and naive stupidity i've been witnessing being expressed by obamabots... as well as to the ignorance being displayed by many in the msm... *try not to miss the meaning in this last sentence this time snowball... at least before you once again prove your incapacity to employ reason whilst smearing me with fallacious attributions...

ok.
But i have one question for you.
If you were a citizen of this country, who would you vote for.
Or
Who would you be most likely to support?

i actually like them both... i just don't like the fervent obama supporters... and oprah's "he's the one" got under my skin... he's a POLITICIAN for fuck's sake... not a messiah... many of his supporters, like snowball are inherently dangerous BECAUSE they're not at all considering this competition from a rational perspective... i think if the democratic party really wants to re-establish it's status as the party in power, then you should NOW start pressuring the two candidates to become running mates... and it is only logical that obama is vp because he would likely then be a shoe-in for the subsequent two terms...

what disturbs me about obama supporters is their propensity for dismissing his lack of specificity while embracing his rhetoric of platitudes whilst demonstrating the same religious fervor that opens doors to corruption...

now... for my own bit of specificity regarding the difference between the two candidates on the issue of health care... hillary is right, you either go for universal health care for everyone or you end up with more of the same...

if (50?) million people (don't recall the actual figures offhand) can afford health care now but don't have it... there's nothing in his plan that will change that...

health care is a public service just like police... there should be no profit motive attached to it... and unless people can understand and accept this as a baseline, your health care system will be in for more of the same broken and exploitative crap that you're all concerned about today...

T @ 116:

As Illinois State Senator, from 1996-2004, 2/3 of Obama’s campaign dollars came from PAC’s, Corporate Interests and Unions, according to State Records. His US Senate campaign committee took $128,000 from lobbyist and $1.3 million from PAC’s according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Report claims Obama used PAC contributions to build support for Presidential run making donations to Democratic Organizers and Candidates during 06 election cycle. Obama has chided Hillary Clinton for taking money from Lobbyist and claims he is innocent of this activity banking on the fact that most will not follow up on his claims as the majority of his supporters are either “too young to know about how the political system works” or by those “admitting this is the first time they are engaged in politics because Obama inspires them for the first time to be involved!”

This does makes sense seeing how Obama has made as much money in two months than Hillary Clinton has in 3 quarters of a year, especially in an economy that is in recession!

Think about it!

Yup, as I've said, they both take corporate cash so as far as domestic policy goes, there's little difference. On foreign policy? Clinton has stated publicly, pandering to the far right ex-pat Venezuelan and Cuban vote she will never get, that she will not enter into direct dialogue with Cuba, Venezuela, Syria or Iran. Obama has said he would. I prefer a Presidential candidate who does not appear wishy-washy by pandering to right wing paranoia and will pursue a rational foreign policy based on mutual respect and the willingness to engage in diplomacy. We need a 180 degree turn from Bush regime policy. I also think that a candidate that sticks to principles, and doesn't triangulate, will be more likely to win the general election.

yep, but who ever wins with iraq or the econonmy, after november is when the ish hits the fan 4 who ever wins

For either candidate, the best VP choice is either Bill Richardson or Wes Clark. They both have the foreign policy credentials to boost the candidacy. It wouldn't be a bad idea for either Obama or Clinton to appoint the other to Secretary of State, or Health and Human Services. And for the record klunk, you should stop watching CNN, it's prpaganda and we American citizens know it. I guess that's why you've fallen so rabidly for the false characterizations of the campaigns by the Corporate Media. Oh, and btw, it's anything but the Mainstream Media (MSM). That's a term mostly used by the right wing.

Thanks again for demonstrating that you know nothing about American politics klunk.

Iraqi's are dead
Their children are too
Our country is run
By a smug little fool

My Dear
Republican thing
When you promised me democracy
My heart was on fire
Now i see your desire
For a shallow tawdry fling
Has left our Constitution in taters
And our ass in a sling

Someone up-thread asked, "how do they sleep at night?"

There's a comedian and he's a little like Stephen Colbert. He plays the role of a republican congressman. He's got his own web page and I'll bet you can find the answer to how "they" sleep. I'm sure it has something to do with living in a gated community. Here's the sight:

www.askarepublican.com

Click on the videos, get some screen wipes and prepare to belly laugh. This guy just comes right out of the closet and says things that republicans normally only think.
He's my new hero.

Most of the gop have a heart that is just have another organ. The e-card just heart envy.

i just sent a few of these valentines to the higher ups at the RNC...with love

Sweetheart
I am wrapped up in your
Orange jumpsuit
And shackels of love
I can no longer believe
I will ever see a judge

When you close your eyes
And go to sleep
And it's down to the sound
Of a heartbeat
I can hear the things
That you're dreamin' about
When you open up your heart
And the truth comes out

You tell me that you want me impeached
You tell me that you need me impeached
You tell me that you hate me
And I know that I'm right
'Cause I tape it in the night

I hear the secrets that you keep
When you're talking on your phone
I hear the secrets that you keep
When you send an email out

When I sell my arms at night
Don't you know you're living in the spotlight
And all your business is public record
You're telling me the secrets
That you just can't hide

You know, I kind of thought it was nice, might send it to a few friends.

They mock liberal hearts bleeding while their hearts, supposedly, bled for all those Iraqis who lived under Saddam's tyranny!

for the record regarding your ad hominem assessment of my television news viewing activities, you should really learn not to throw stones when you live in a glass house yourself... you're the one who's been quoting the msm to support your conclusions... whilst denigrating them at the same time... clearly, you are so entrenched in your denial that you can't even spot your own hypocrisy...

Dear RNC,

If you think bleeding hearts are a problem, then how about our bleeding military heroes in Iraq? Thanks to your arrogance, perfidy, and selfishness, the American people are going to carve your party a new one in November.

So I hope your healthcare program has a good proctologist in it. And have fun being marginalized as the minority party for the next 20 years or so. Your gang of simpering idiots deserve it. Good bye and good luck.

Sincerely,
The Pissed Off Voters of America

Hi xiotes! Good to see you. Having fun with our obnoxious, incoherent interloper?

The funny thing is, I didn't know they allowed drinking on the job at the NSA.

Snowball@122

I would prefer retired Gen. Tony Zinni to either of the two you mentioned.

Considering the clusterfuck in Iraq, Zinni would be a perfect VP in my opinion.

Heh, only Republicans and the tragically misinformed refer to our media system as the MSM. We know it's corporate and the mouthpiece of the economic elite, not mainstream. We're not falling for the pathetic trick of those who pose as Clinton supporters alling Obama supporter "cultists." We're on to your dirty little tricks.

All of us here, aside from the Libertarians (and a few Nader supporters), will be voting Democratic in the general elections and you can't suppress our votes no matter how vile and obnoxious your efforts to divide us. A Democrat, be it Clinton or Obama will make the next Supreme Court appointment. Get used to it.

Zinni, that's not too bad either. I'm not sure I know enough about him though as far as his party affiliation. From what I've seen though, he seems straight on.

Maybe Sec. of Defense?

"How these people sleep at night, I’ll never know."

You assume they sleep at night.

lol... suffering from delusional paranoia much... for the record... "MSM" is a reference used everywhere by those along all political spectrums... but, for xiotes benefit, i'll point out that "well informed" is a far different thing than insight...

i do find it interesting how you resort to smears instead of discourse... and how much like a rethug criminal your accusations are... to paraphrase forest gump... "vile and obnoxious" is as "vile and obnoxious" does...

"suppress your vote"????.... what an ignorant host of fear-filled fabricated accusations you've leveled... unless you've got evidence that i, an individual voice can somehow affect the voting intentions of hundreds of millions of people, then you are only openly exercising the same despicable smear tactics the rethuglicans have been perfecting for decades now...

My e-mail to my state GOP:

I am sending this note to inform you that I will be changing my party affiliation to Democratic. The final reason being the link below. Of which I am sure that you are aware. Is this the level of discourse that my Republican party has been reduced to? Is this what passes for constructive policy discussions? Will this be the level of political discourse now that there is not an opposition candidate with a distinguished military service record to be mocked by the wearing of band-aids with purple hearts drawn on them?

No klunk, you pathetic trolls are out in force. You're all over the Liberal blogs, and we're having a lot of fun playing with you. Have no fear, we'll put you back in the trunk when we're finished playing. Goodnight, I have a real job adding to the GDP to go to in the morning. Enjoy your masturbatory fest at the keyboard tonight with your bag of Cheetos looser. Give Mr. Rove my regards.

o-MOB-a played the race card, called the Clintons racist.

And he will expect my vote if he snookers the nomination.

Um....I don't think so.

"My liberal heart bleeds for you."

The ad would work better if they used a picture of flag draped coffins flying in to Dover from Iraq.

This would more accurately illustrate the support Obama receives from veterans and soldiers in Iraq--you know, the ones whose hearts really are bleeding because of the cowardly and shameless RNC's craving for their blood.

Oh get over it, it's an uninspired, harmless joke.

That is one handsome man, there.

If they had any brains they would kill themselves.

Where is the GOP minister promising they will all reach heaven if they drink the Kool-Aid.

Come on drink up.
