When will the media let him go

Brookings Institute Warmonger Michael O'Hanlon gives Barack and Hillary failing grades on Iraq. That's the good news.

“I’m troubled about what they both say about Iraq. He’s the one who wants to get out very fast, unconditionally, and to some extent, he’s pulled her along,” Mr. O’Hanlon said. […]

“Still, if you add up all of their differences, they both fail on Iraq. They both would get out very fast. They both are advocating a policy that unless significantly modified would lead to a reversal of our military progress in 2007,” he said.

Any supposed lefty (yes, even a hawk) should never write an article for the Moonie Times. Shows you how desperate these types are.

O'Hanlon's next Friedman Unit for Iraq, which has changed three times since last March, currently expires...next month! So why is any timetable for an end to a failed operation in a war based on lies unacceptable to these people? Don't answer that.

Sorry pigs, I've gotta say it... Michael O'Hanlon is a pigface! And an effed up loser to boot!

Oh yeah, they both fail on Iraq, unless you live in lala land where winning is ignoring the wishes of most Americans you worthless piece of shit.

While on the subject of Iraq, perhaps it may be interesting to learn the differences between Sunnis, Shi'as and Khurds when it comes to how they approach life.

1st, The Brookings Institute is not a Liberal or Left wing think tank. It's often been run by Republicans and bills itself as "non-partisan." That the Corporate Media uses it a a stand-in for Liberal opinion only demonstrates how they limit the debate to what they consider "reasonable opinion," i.e. pro-corporate, pro Military Industrial Complex. 2nd, O'Hanlon, like Joe Klein and Richard Cohen are not Liberals, they're only stand-ins who owe their jobs as media talking heads and opinion setters to the fact that they pose as Liberals while spouting Right wing crap. Joe Lieberman used to play that role inside the Democratic party and look where he is now. It's what Chomsky refers to as the "management of consensus."

what's o'hanlons military backround?

cool,a satire thread.

My browser loads this as the lead entry as HomePage (repeatedly):

Had to bump thru the posts to get here.

Site Monitor: We stickied the primary thread to the top of the page until the end of the day.

that was a joke about the satire folks

What absolutely boggles my mind is how people with the intellectual reasoning ability like that of Michael O’Hanlon manage to gain fellowship at Brookings Institute. I understand it is a fringe'esque group but I mean, come on. What do rational people with real ideas have to do.

www.HyerStandard.com

that's like Hitler giving out Mother Teresa a failing grade on her extermination camps.

BIG BADGE OF HONOR

Who cares if it's unacceptable to these people. They've been wrong about everything. They have no credibility. And they lack the intellectual honesty to admit how badly their "strategy" has worked out.

O'Hanlon is yet another example of how badly you can perform as a pundit and still cling to your perch, just so long as you refuse to cop to your numerous mistakes.

Huh. I thought O'Hanlon was advising Clinton. Was she just meeting with him instead? (I recently wrote a post ripping him, actually.) As some other commenters have noted, he really is a moron. Some knowledge perhaps, but no wisdom.

This fool is crazy

“I don’t seek the presidency on the presumption that I am blessed with such personal greatness that history has anointed me to save my country in its hour of need. I seek the presidency with the humility of a man that cannot forget that my country saved me!"

~Senator John McCain (R) at his victory speech on February 12, 2008 after winning the Potomac Primary.

Hmmm...I wonder who he is talking to!?

McCain said last night...

"Military Progress"? WHAT Fuckin Military Progress? Ah, yes, the progress of money out of OUR pockets and into the coffers of Dick Cheney's buddies at Halliburton. Other than that sort of thing, excuse me but I see NO progress at all, unless he's also talking about the progress of spreading hatred for the US. Now THERE's Progress for ya! Huge success in the hate department. Certainly Al Qaida has made loads of progress recruiting new nutcakes for their ranks. Chavez has made loads of progress pointing out the warmongering of the US. Yes, apparently Progress is our Most Important Product.

What was O'Hanlon's surname name before he changed it?

He's as Irish as matzo.

So why is any timetable for an end to a failed operation in a war based on lies unacceptable to these people?

Because we owe it to the share holders of the big defense contractors, to Israel and to the careers of countless officers in the armed forces!

This isn't just a war, it is the biggest heist of us tax dollars in history! think of it as a transfer payment you arm chair economists!

This country is getting just too damned PC.

Bush made noises yesterday indicating he was in favor of banning nooses, because they were un-PC.

I wonder if, when he makes nooses illegal, he will make exceptions for the CIA and our troops in Iraq.

But even if he does, what are we average citizens to do if we want to hang someone? It'd be quite awkward to carry around all the stuff we'd need to waterboard them.

I suppose the Rand Corporation would get a failing grade.

David Brooks had a column on this. His premise is that if either Dem gets elected, the party will split because the 'anti-war left' will insist on immediate withdrawal and that will just undercut all the good work the surge has accomplished and anger the 'center'. The 3/4 of the country that wants out will just change its mind and support more war, according to BoBo. I detest these bloodthirsty cowards.

But why doesn't the Fair and Balanced news report on "The failing Grade I give to O'Hanlon for his flip flopping positions on Iraq.

First he was touted as being against Iraq and once he change his mind (flip flopped) for Iraq, then and only then did he recieve credibility from PNAC and friends.
