Henry Waxman is grilling a baseball player, Roger Clemens, about steriods while refusing to grill the state department about reported TREASON in the state department (Sibel Edmonds: Reported in London Times)
Please call him and let his office know that you find that "the war on steriods" should take a back seat to investigating TREASON involving the sale of nuclear secrets. Sibel Edmonds, featured on CBS 60 Minutes, names names and is very credible.

Re: Australia Says Sorry"
We Americans need to do same to our indigenous people. We are a long way from that.
Go Donna. By far as important, the election of a majority in the congress and the senate is the goal for this Nov elections.
When the time comes, I'll buy a diamond. But it's going to be a SYNTHETIC diamond. They're cheap and huge!
Good blog round...up even if it did make me wanna crawl in a hole and pull the dirt in behind me.
At least I have good Canadian healthcare. Though the private sector is constantly trying to fuck that up for us.

We will become the change we wish to see.
It will be easier to change the face of the Democrat party
than to infiltrate a criminal Republican Mafia.
We are still reminded of ALL the subpenas which have been
refused or not complied with.
U.S. Attorney Firings - Not complied with
Niger Forgeries - Rice publicly refused to comply
U.S. Attorney Firings - White House Counsel Fred Fielding refusing to comply claiming executive privilege.
U.S. Attorney Firings - White House wrote to Leahy refusing to comply. Bolten refused to appear.
U.S. Attorney Firings - Rove refused to appear.
Pat Tillman murder coverup Lt. General Kensinger - U.S. Marshals can't find him to serve subpoena
Halliburton gang rape victim - not complied with

We will not dignify steroid subpenas here.
Avid Reader @1
Agree completely. I don't give a damn whether Roger Clemmons uses steroids. Waxman is a jerk to waste time on this.
Expect record gas prices by spring
Gasoline prices, already up 72 cents a gallon over a year ago, are poised to go higher — possibly shattering records.
Congress want to step in?
Didn't think so.
L.A. Confidential @ 9:
Come Obama here's your chance to take on Big Oil.
VietVet8666 @ 8:
But can you really blame Waxman and congress for zeroing in on an issue they think they can get to the bottom of even if it is trivial? So much pent up frustration..
Blue Lensman @ 11:
Yes. You really can.
They aren't going to get to the bottom of anything. They're just repeating things everyone is already aware of and it doesn't make a damn bit of difference. They're wasting time so they can avoid doing anything real or substantive. He needs to be removed.
I'm fine with them putting people who lie to congress in jail including Roger Clemens, but this should be at the bottom of the list behind Treason at the state department being reported around the world (accept in the United States with the exception of Pat Buchannan's magazine, American Conservative).
Sibel Edmonds truth cracks the whole sewer system of corruption in Washington. This story has legs . . . its going to be a movie . . . lets all push Waxman.
Please?

OT: Conyers on impeachment
Got an email from Democratic Unity talking about John Conyers "hinting" at impeachment and meeting with Code Pink. The email asked me to call Conyers' office, sign a petition, etc, etc. I responded by email the following to them and to John Conyers:
Ummm...I already emailed John Conyers and asked him to stop talking about or even "hinting" about impeachment because it's obvious he isn't going to do it. PERIOD! .
Call his office, email his staff, sign our petition, contribute, yada yada, yada.... frankly, BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, GOT SCREWED.
There is no unity among democrats--at least no unity between Democratic citizens and their Democratic representatives and senators. That has been made abundantly clear. We the People certainly cannot count on the Republicans in Congress to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law and it is evident now that we cannot count on Democrats in Congress either. Mr. Conyers' "hinting" about impeachment and fearing political blowback amounts to grandstanding. I understand and admire his commitment to Constitutionality and Democracy but I also understand it stops short of impeachment. There is already an impressive and persuasive argument for the impeachment of Dick Cheney at afterdowningstreet.org. There are already petitions signed, phone calls made and donations contributed for the impeachment endeavor and all have led to a whole lot of nothing. We can't guarantee Mr. Conyers he won't become a casualty of impeachment retribution. The courageous who take on the mightiest of foes must do so accepting that victory may call for their sacrifice. What other arguments can we offer to persuade him? Besides, Nancy Pelosi said it--impeachment is off the table. There's been talk and no action. Let's not play this game anymore. The difference between word and deed is all too obvious now, isn't it?
Why not have public housing, nobody should have to pay, how about transportation, education, free cars and college for everyone, while were at it the government should guarantee me a job to!!!! I can't wait til libs get into office!!
chris = tired
Blue Lensman @ 17:
I think it's the koolaid.
What? Paul in the fog isn't here telling us not to call one of Nancys pets a corporately-funded puppet?
chris the bush government has a guarenteed job for you. All you need to do is head to the nearest military recruiting station. All those other things you need to have the right conections for, just ask the newer staff at the DOJ.
Thanks for continuing to link Sara Robinson's important pieces.

New York Times - print edition, front page.
Four column over fold picture of four aborigines at left. Story of apology jumped inside, not on front page. (Yes, you can download the front page image at the Times site...look for "Today's Paper")
One column, down, at six position story of Obama win with little picture of Obama. Looking upward...in layout terms, toward the aborigines.
Tell the times and krugman to get over their tantrum. They can't count the letters they printed today about their bias? Too bad.
Re: the diamond story. Why is nobody pointing out the obvious alternative to those who want to give something sparkly to their loved one that doesn't smell like slave labor? Yes, the most obvious non-consumerist solution is to just give something more meaningful but less intangible. But why not just give a produced diamond? Range from somewhat to drastically cheaper, every single bit as pretty (probably moreso, since you can afford a much better rock), no slave labor involved (maybe the Russian mob in some cases, but that can probably be avoided), and scares the poo out of DeBeers. Not to mention that, in my opinion, it's way cooler--what's niftier than letting science produce and improve upon a rarity in nature?
Hell, if you want to get spendy you can even have a diamond made out of a part of yourself by a nice US-based company (hair, assuming you're not dead). Beat that.
"Fake" diamonds? How about "handmade." I like that better, and I smell an advertising campaign.
