"Spiritual predator-terrorist" is the best description I've ever seen of evangelists who've grown wealthy from the donations of the poor. Thank you, I'll confiscate it.

If anybody has money that they feel moved to donate in response to spiritual matters, they need to donate it to those less fortunate than themselves, not an ass who wants them to finance his "ministry". He can go poor like everybody else.

Most people like Benny Hinn are frauds and con men and religion is the oldest con game in the book. Here is a bit about Hinn as well as many other televangelists. These people live like Hollywood super stars and pull in huge saleries.

Except on one occassion i have not purchased a Nestle product since 1978.

A show like 20/20 did a profile of HInn a few years ago. They wanted an accounting for his lavish life style and where all the money he takes in goes. He got up in front of a huge number of truer believers and told them he refused to answer 20/20's questions...because God told him to. The audience roared it's approval.

I'm no fan of Oprah, too Peg Bundy for me, but what you're decrying is celebrity concern. What Hinn is doing is not largesse to the suffering, but telling them they need to give HIM money or go to Hell.

Benny Hinn is not an evangelist, but rather he's part of the "health and wealth" brigade, which is not looked upon too fondly by orthodox Christians in general and evangelicals in particular. Other notable "name it and claim" preachers are Joel Osteen, Greg Dickow and Rod Parsley.

If our religion didn't forbid us from hating people or wishing them dead, people like Hinn would be some of the first likely targets. :)

I would like to know where the word "ethical" appears in my above statement. I have no idea whether what he is doing is ethical, because I also have no idea as to what exactly he said while he made the case to the Ugandan citizenry.

I just saw a show on CBC, here in Canada, about Hinn. His handlers will NOT let someone who is incurable, anywhere near Hinn. He is simply a con artist.
