I just saw Nader is looking to run for president again. Please people, we need to flood his office with mail to show that we do not want him being another spoiler in what is the most important election in our recent history.
I sent Ralph the following e-mail:
This message is to ask you to please not run for President this year. You do nothing in the off season, you do nothing to build your party, you do nothing for your country. Then every 4 years you want to be a spoiler in our political process. You helped give us Bush2 and I'm sure your smart enough to see what a disaster that has been.
It seems to me that you only run for president so Ralph Nader can feel good about Ralph Nader and I ask you for the good of America please please please do not run this time.
This is the most important election of our time and we don't need you screwing us up again. the election in 2000 was very important but you were too blind by your own greed to see what was happening until it was too late. please please please have some foresight this time around.
Message To Ralph Nader

no, really.
I'm convinced Ralph Nader is a republican operative. If you don't think so, explain to me why he doesn't campaign but only shows up in the last knowing he has zero chance in winning. Besides, it's a known fact he gets funding from some of the more egregious republican machines.

All of this is true, though why are we being taught democracy by those who are fighting in Iraq and maintaining a concentration camp in Guantanamo?

Once again I wonder what George Bush "saw" when he "looked into" Pres. Putin's eyes...

Same thing he sees in everybody. An enemy of the Bush Family.
Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, speaking shortly before Nader's announcement, said Nader's past runs have shown that he usually pulls votes from the Democratic nominee. "So naturally, Republicans would welcome his entry into the race," the former Arkansas governor said on CNN.

I woke up this morning and it was a nice day and all of a sudden i find out that Nader is running for President. It is too late Ralph. You missed the train. It left a long time ago and you were not on it
(VIDEO CLIP OF "America the Beautiful")
BUSH: Our grief has turned to anger, and anger to resolution.
BUSH: Whether we bring our enemies to justice or bring justice to our enemies, justice will be done.
BUSH: Every nation in every region now has a decision to make. Either you're with us or you are with the terrorists.
BUSH: Our war is against evil not against Islam. We don't hold any religion accountable. We're fighting evil.
BUSH: In terms of Mr. bin Laden himself, we'll get him running. We'll smoke him out of his cave and we'll get him eventually.
BUSH: Our nation is still in danger but the government is doing everything in our power to protect our citizenry. The American people need to go about their lives.
I posted this on Nader's website and it was deleted. All comments critical of Nader's candidacy are being expunged by his web team. Please call Nader's campaign at (202) 441 5727 and tell him that this sort of censorship tarnishes his reputation.
This is all true.
I voted for you in 2004, Mr. Nader, donated $75 -- I still have my signed copy of Crashing the Party -- and worked for your campaign in New York. I attended your election eve address at Cooper Union. I admire your record as a public advocate. I defended you at all turns against charges that you "spoiled" Gore's bid in 2000. I defended you in 2004 against charges that yours was a "vanity" run.
This time around I am supporting Barack Obama. That you would mount a bid against Sen. Obama, who opposed the war and favors a quick withdrawal, who favors a living wage, universal health care and most other priority issues for progressives, is an admission on your part that you are giddy with the thought of trying to spoil this election and punish the Democrats.
The joke, however, is on you, Mr. Nader, as you got 0.7% of the popular vote in 2004 and would be lucky to get that much in 2008. In either case your candidacy will be deservedly ignored and your presence in the race will have zero impact. Please re-think this foolish and vain misadventure, and put your and your supporters' energy and money toward a cause worth fighting for, one you can win, and one that does not seek to mendaciously tar a worthy Democrat candidate as a "corporate" tool of industry.
And if you do nothing else, have the decency to spell Barack Obama's name correctly on your website.

Blah blah blah blah blah
I have been waching some of the Sunday morning talk shows and have seen nothing about Boner and the rest of the repugs walking out of the House. That was this last week wasn't it? The repugs again, don't have to answer for their actions.
Yesterday Mike posted something to the effect that Ralph Nader needed to run again because he draws equally from both Republicans and Democrats. That Obama needed to be taken down a peg and Ralph would push him more to the left because right now Obama is nothing but hot air. I posted this in responce and I believe it still goes. I am also sure Ralph Nader doesn't care.
I am sick to death of the Ralph Nader meme that he and his minions spead around like vomit at a college kegger. Just how many progressive, liberal Republicans do YOU know? How about running Bloomburg, Paul, and Nader as independents and just guarantee the Republicans the victory? You know constantly saying that the Democrats and the Republicans are all the same and it doesn’t make a lick of difference who you vote for does have a very real vote depressing effect. This election is just too important for the Supreme Court alone to waist your time, energy, and vote on someone just to make you feel better. Why wait, just outlaw abortion in half the states now. How about setting up a department of KBR and call it the national security force? You may think that Obama needs to be taken down a bit but I am seriously worried about the future of this country if another Fascist Republican takes office.

Right on RayC, it's not just the big prize, the SCOTUS and the House and Senate are the real benefits we have to look at.
Brendan @ 13:
Thank you for the phone number, I called to back up my e-mail I sent and told the staffer who answered the phone that we as Americans are sick of Ralph Nader running for President so Ralph Nader can feel good about Ralph Nader. and made the request that he not screw up our system yet again.
Could it be that the Green Party (in whose name Nader's campaign is being conducted) is really nothing short of a GOP diversionary tactic of the crudest sort?
Speaking of Darfur, how are things for the pygmies in the Congo, lately? People still cannibalizing them? Rape-as-new-social-control-method still rampant? Genocide still occurring with even less fuss than Darfur? I think so. Why do people ignore the Congo region, except when gorillas are involved?
