Lieberman: He's at it again

(h/t ctblogger)

So far we've seen Lieberman endorse John McCain for President and Susan Collins (R-ME) for Senate. And now it looks like we're about to see him endorse yet another Republican, Chris Shays (CT-04). And this wouldn't be at all surprising, given that Shays and Lieberman campaigned together in 2006 after Lieberman was freed from the shackles of the Democratic Party by Ned Lamont.

As always, show your appreciation by donating to Shays' Democratic opponent, Jim Himes via Blue America.

Frist.

Lieberman's an asshat. They should drum him from the party...RIGHT BEFORE THE CONVENTION.

He and Harold Ford should have a love-in for Shays.

What a couple of assholes.

I agree, maybe give a swift kick to hindquarters on the way out.

Who says we don't have a third party? We do have one. It's the party of people who pretend to be democrats, better known as the pseudo-crats. Lieberman is the leader of that party with Harold Ford and others are carrying the banner.

And to think I thought it was a good move when Gore chose this quisling for a running-mate.

Apparently Liebermann's morality is one of convenience only.

Why do I have the feeling this thread will soon be full of anti-Semitic and AIPAC conspiracies comments?

Two years ago he shoulda' been busted for political cross-dressing!
http://satiricalpolitical.com/?p=259

Dems. Kick him to the curb. You don't really have a majority with this shit stinking up the joint. And he benefits more than the party does. Since you all put party above everything else, keeping this guy around is really inconsistent.

Who's the whip? You need a new one.

They should drum him from the party…RIGHT BEFORE THE CONVENTION.

Oooooohh......I like that! The repig convention will be over, and when Holy Joe switches to the Dark Side in a huff, that may give them a Senatorial advantage, but there won't be that much time until the new, highly-Democratic Senate sits in which the repigs can do much evil.

And it will send a GREAT message to the Blue Dogs: you're on notice!

Of course, Reid won't ever do something as forceful as that.

We're Winning! We're Winning! Battle Cry of the McDuke

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio - John McCain said Monday that to win the White House he must convince a war-weary country that U.S. policy in Iraq is succeeding. If he can't, "then I lose. I lose," the Republican said.

AIPAC conspiracies? Sure!! If you believe AIPAC doesn't have the reach it is often portrayed as having then you probably believe that Lee Harvey Oswald was the sole assassin of JFK.

If you don't like reading books by accredited Harvard professors, at least do yourself the favor of watching God's Warriors by CNN's Christiana Amanpour.

By the way, your post is straight out of the ADL playbook; they either use "Anti-Semitic" or "Conspiracy" to discredit people who speak the truth and are perceived as a threat to their agenda, just like free speech and fair trials are a threat to Bush's politics of fear.

now that LIEberman has shown his true allegiance to the the repugs
maybe he won't be reelected again, at least not for the dem
constituents he deceived this last time.

Not sure but even though they vote like they are the minority, Lieberman still helped them have the majority they needed to hold all the committee chairs and that is a BIG deal.

However I'm really looking forward to 2009, if the dems pick up enough senate seats, and a good chance they have of doing that, THEN lieberman can kiss all his committee chairmanships good bye and CT will have a new junior senator with no power.

Lieberman got drummed out of his party already. Then he stuck it to them by running and winning as an independent. He's a democrat at heart, but his balls resemble those of an independent.

My political blog

you're a nightmare, joe lieberman. thanks a lot, connecticut.

Gosh I, I, I REALLY regret that I never voted for this man! To bad he's not vice president right now! I'd LOVE to be able to vote for HIM for president!

Damn you! Damn you Ralph Nader! How could you have seduced with your siren song?!?

Lieberman is nothing more than a political whore, bouncing from one lover (Dem) to another (Rep).......oh well. You play with partisan politics, you get burned.

"RHM Says: Lieberman got drummed out of his party already. Then he stuck it to them by running and winning as an independent. He’s a democrat at heart, but his balls resemble those of an independent."

Thankfully, I have no familiarity with the condition of his balls. ;)

What's wrong with that? I happen to like grilled dover sole as an entree following French Onion soup as an appetizer.

Let us forget Judas Lieberman for a second, a lot of new polls have just been released today , revealing the Lieberman-McCain-Hillary coalition is crashing. Obama is going to win Texas and Vermont handily, Ohio is going to be close, Hillary may win the state by a very small margin it will depend on how many independents and republicans show up, RI is too much corrupted by the old democratic machine, so I'll give that to Hillary as a consolation price. Hopefully Hillary will do the right thing and yield the nomination to Obama next Tuesday night.

LIEberman (hearts) John McLobby

Hey all. Do a little Googlin' and you find out some very interesting things.

Hillary- McCain connection:
Charlie Black, John McCain's top adviser, is chairman of BKSH,the DC-based lobbying subsidiary of Burson-Marsteller
Mark Penn is CEO Burson-Marsteller

Now isn't that just awe inspiring? Oh and if you want more, check out a google of Mark Penn and KKKarl Rove. Seems they are friendly buddies too. So remember folks. A vote for McCain or Hillary, is a vote for THE SAME THING.

His brain was broken from waaaay back.

He was only a Dem because he is old enough to remember the days in which Jews needed not apply to the GOP. The dems was his only choice for political affiliation, not because he agreed with the liberal agenda, but because it was the major party which allowed non WASPs to participate.

Oh, the joys of trying to be a leftist in this country.

Obama is the one who campaigned for Leiberman in the battle against Ned Lamont. From "Mr. Obama Goes to Washington," *The Nation*, June 8, 2006: "Just as Ned Lamont's antiwar primary campaign against prowar Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman was gaining momentum, Obama traveled to the state to endorse Lieberman."

We may make snide remarks about Lieberman but he is the one who is actually laughing the most. Yes, thanks Connecticut making us the joke.

I have heard all the excuses from the Lieberman apologists from the granite(head) state. To have this creep representing you must be a bone chilling embarrassment. I mean every day this old punk votes against your states best interest. Connecticut, what does Joe's piss taste like?

What Gore was thinking to take on to Lieberman as a runningmate is beyond me. Does anyone else remember how softer and more conservative his campaign became after Lieberman was on board. I'd bet money (tin-hat folks, don your wear now!) that we can thank the Connecticut Senator for that move which cost Gore a ton of party votes to Nader. Now the real question is whether Lieberman KNEW it would cost Gore the election. His behavior since then makes me think he fully wanted to sabotage the campaign (why else would he run both for re-election as a Senator and for Vice President?).

If Lieberman had been in politics during WWII he would have founded 'Jews For Hitler'.

Dude, Connecticut is the Nutmeg State. NH is the Granite State.

53 James Says: If Lieberman had been in politics during WWII he would have founded ‘Jews For Hitler’.

That's something that has been bugging me. I believe there was a groups of Jews that worked with the Nazis, probably for survival. But I haven't been able to find the group's name. Does anybody know?

We could use it in reference to holy joe.

Ah-hah! Quite correct, Dr. A. But I believe it is also the Nutmeg State (hence the blog My Left Nutmeg.)

But please correct me if I am wrong.

Matt in Texas@54 and Dr.Acula@50 O'kay, I'm the granite head. My other comments stand.

One possible term was mischlinge, but these were generally Jews of the first or second degree that were allowed to fight in the Nazi army. However, the term is derogatory and means mongrel.

What I'm trying to find refers to Jewish neighborhood groups that would clean up after Nazi raids, and took orders from the officers.

Guess who McCain is picking as a running mate! You heard it here first!

Jeb Bush?

Thanks to Ralph Nader, this man isn't our Vice President!

Gore figured that he could use Lieberman to distance himself from the Clinton years of peace and prosperity, smart move there bucko! Lieberman has always tried to exploit the whole nutjob self hating ultra conservative "oh my god did you see that nipple" vote. Heck, rumor has it that he divorced his first wife because she was not orthodox enough. I wonder if her insistence on being naked during marital duties was his breaking point, the gall!

Gore almost lost my vote when I saw the VeePee debates, and Lieberman literally gave a literal blowjob on the air to that scum bucket Cheney.

Also, please understand that after all the shenanigans by Gore's wifey during the 80s --where she was trying to squash anything that may corrupt their precious children sensitivites, freedom of speech be damned-- and as a founder of the DLC. Gore was many things, but a progressive liberal was not one of them.

Lieberman's kiss to the Chimperor, after that nefarious state of the Union speech a few years back, had nothing on Judas'. If only he had decided to go around giving power point presentations and leave the rest of us the fuck alone... at least Gore got that one right...

67 mo_dem Says: Thanks to Ralph Nader, this man isn’t our Vice President!

MoDems@67 But thanks to Ralphie Dick Cheney is our VP.

I always thought that Cheney is our VeePee due to the people who voted for him to elect him *twice*

Whenever I see this prick, or hear his salty, mushy voice...all I can think of is "liverwurst". That smelly, dark meat spread that we used to watch my dad eat.

This guy is a true relic of the zell miller mold.

Thanks Connecticut! Just what we needed. I hope Connecticut falls off the face of the earth.

CC26@37 Yes, Obama campaigned for Lieberman during the primary against Lamont. Let's also not forget that both Clintons supported Lieberman during that same primary and that Bill Clinton was out stumping for Lieberman. In fact, Clinton even went out and defended Lieberman's stance on the Iraq war. Obama and the Clintons all campaigned for Lamont after he won the primary.

I'm really tired of the worn out assertions and implications that Obama was out helping Lieberman after the primary or that he somehow is less of a candidate because he supported Lieberman before the primary. HRC was right there with him. And let's not forget that Lamont endorsed Obama for president either.

Lieberman is an asshat but if ties to him make a candidate awful then don't tell the Clinton supporters about their long ties to him and don't remind Gore that he was his VP candidate.

It's a damned shame that jerk is still in office!! I knew darned well that Gore screwed up when he picked that boring bastard to be his running mate. He's shown his colors when Bush gave him a big kiss in public. It's to bad that his butt wasn't run off!!

Mar Feeder: Keefotz-li? Hey, weren't you the jarhead who sat in front of me in that Ivrit M'duberet class at the Defense Language Institute back in '76? Those were the days, eh? Mah neeshma, baby? (:>

Heard it may be a possibility of a McCain-Lieberman 08 ticket.
Thoughts?

Oh to have a real big majority in the Senate starting in 2009 so that Lieberman becomes UNIMPORTANT

And yes Ashwilliams, I have. How would the "Q-tip ticket" appealk to younger voters??? Oh yeah, they'd be going after the Fox news/O'Reilly demographic

clytemnestra @ 81:

Yeah, in a discussion with Repubs the other day, they seemed excited for this ticket. They called Lieberman an "economic genius". Now either they're somewhat anti-semitic (they were sure to mention he was Jewish), or just delusional.

I wonder if Lieberman "genius" > Rove "genius"...

Finally more people are making connections between today's Lieberman and the 2000 Democratic ticket's inability to attract enough progressive voters to stop Nader from being scapegoated. Every time I participate in a Nader thread I try to bring up Lieberman and it's apparently to deaf ears... err, the internet equivalent. Blind eyes? Either way, don't think that just because Lieberman no longer has a (D) next to his name that that means the Democratic party as a whole is as progressive as any of us would like it to be.

Lieberman said "I here by endorse . . . blah blah blah blah, I'm a dirty whore."

That's all that matters.

AshWilliams @ 80:

Heard it may be a possibility of a McCain-Lieberman 08 ticket.

It's like . . . a peanut butter and ass sandwich.

Has Lieberman endorsed Larry Craig yet?

Scooter@86 Maybe he's just waiting until the next time they share a flight together.

Nader-Lieberman '08!!

Two big egos, zero credibility.

Recall

The real need here is for CT to get itself a law providing for the recall of its senators.

[Deleted. Quit spamming threads with the same message and quit posting in ALL CAPS-Sitemonitor]

Don't forget that Obama endorsed pro-war Lieberman over anti-war Lamont. He didn't switch his endorsement until just before the general election, well after Lieberman lost the primary and had left the party.

There is one thing for sure LIE-berman is not DEMOCRAT, and should be kicked out of the DEMOCRTAIC party BUT the leaders of the SENATE and HOUSE are sock-puppets to LIE-berman and friends I am talking about REID and PELOSI. HOW they reman in a leader ship position in the DEMOCRATIC party is a mistrey to me. I have a bet with friends that LIE-berman will be invited to the DEM., CONVENTION by REID and PELOSI.

Joe retire in Israel already!

Please tell the old man to go home and sleep.
